  1. oof that midterm was rough Need to start studying a bit more
  2. I don't think I've laughed so hard in my life, please send help my sides actually hurt
  3. tbh United may as well be 4th, it's not like us or Arsenal are going to get it, we both have many issues and are bad I honestly can't be bothered with whoever wins the title and it's stupid that some Chelsea fans are so hung up on it that they want us to lose just so Man City can maybe win it. Like yeah I understand that Liverpool fans on the internet can be a bit annoying and it's funny seeing them continually fail to win anything of note (idc about that, I know a lot of Liverpool fans who are great people), but we have our own problems that we should be focusing on. Like how we're still in a fight for top 4 and getting a result against City could be the difference between making or missing it. I wouldn't get too excited about it, we're going to get washed by at least two goals
  4. Marc Gasol to the Raptors, I'm going to miss JV but damn this is exciting. This trade seems controversial among our fans but I actually really like it. Delon and Miles aren't much and they weren't coming back for next season, a 2nd rounder in 2024 is nothing, so it's basically JV for Gasol. Hopefully he is reinvigorated by joining a legitimately great team pushing to make the finals. We need a few more players though, our roster is small af now. I really don't want to see us play Cash Considerations or Drake off the bench. Hopefully Masai can get some good players from the buyout market. The race for the right to get bent over by Golden State in the final is getting really good now
  5. -40C with wind chill tomorrow, fuck I'm really considering just skipping my classes tomorrow just so I don't have to deal with that :/ But the rest of the week is going to be mostly the same, so maybe I should stop being such a child.
  6. My friend managed to convince me to skip the Chelsea match and study with her instead, I couldn't be more grateful, saved me from losing my sanity. I watched a second half replay later just so I could see what exactly happened, and because I'm also apparently a masochist, and wow this team's mentality is really just awful. It was a big reason why Mourinho and Conte got sacked, and Sarri has called it out at least three times now. I don't even know what to think, it's crucial that we play CL next year, but no players care outside of a select few and he's not willing to adapt his tactics. Not to mention our painfully casual build-up (which renders our attack almost completely useless) and the team forgetting Higuain is a Chelsea player. It's so painful and boring to watch. He went back to square one after that Arsenal loss, and then he does the exact same thing the next league match. Like wtf? I saw someone on r/cfc say we should build around Kepa, Rudiger, Azpilicueta, Kante, RLC, and CHO (if he stays), and sell the rest, and I'm starting to see the reason why. Changes have to happen, three seasons now where this team has just given up.
  7. I legitimately hope Broly becomes a regular, I really love his character. I feel like it would be such a waste for him to become irrelevant. We need Jiren vs Broly in the future
  8. Seems like AD wants out of New Orleans, can't blame him for that. I'm really curious as to where he'll end up. If he goes to the Lakers then the city of New Orleans might just declare war on Los Angeles. I think Masai will go in for him to send a message to Kawhi that he's serious about making this team a winner, but I would be extremely astonished if we got him, I can't even imagine what we'd have to trade to get him as well. Siakam + OG + JV + picks + whatever else, probably.
  9. That's ambitious, I wish I had your level of hope lmao I'm always going to be pessimistic af when it comes to my national teams unless they actually get really close to success. Like we won't even see Canada at the World Cup until 2026 and that's only because they're co-hosting it, and I'll be coming close to my 30's at that point
  10. Martin Atkinson is a fucking SHIT referee, it is blatantly obvious this senile old man wants Tottenham to win. Dier and hacks down everyone for 70 minutes, no yellow card. Chelsea get three in 10 minutes for two mistimed tackles and Atkinson getting upset that Sarri called him out. He was so bad he managed to make Kanté of all people angry. Tottenham are the fucking worst, their fans are a bunch of dirty troglodytes who get self-righteous when a little grit goes against them, when their team is the first to lash out and be assholes when things aren't going their way. Such a smug and cocky fanbase considering they haven't won anything in 10 years. If we lose this I might actually explode. Giroud is just clearly not starting material, if Higuain were playing this match, it would already be over. e: ERIC DIER, ISN'T KARMA A FUCKING BITCH? I don't think anyone is surprised that Tottenham bottled it, it's an accomplishment for them when they can put the pressure on. I LOVE KEPA SO MUCH. Couldn't have asked for a better GK, £70m and he looks like he will be worth every bit of it! Hazard and Kanté were unreal today, Emerson looks good enough to get a lot more starts, and the pens were great. Deserved win for us, I'm overjoyed and relieved. I'm so proud of this team, I thought they'd be tired from the AFF Cup win so I didn't expect much, but I think they actually played better. Kept it close to Japan and were actually the better team in the first half imo. If we could've kept that up in the second half I really think we could've taken it to at least extra time. I'm still really happy, they went beyond my expectations yet again.
  11. Click here to view the Tweet YAAAAAAAAAAAS FINALLY Higuain not off to a good start *£4m loan fee for 18 months with a £43m-ish option to buy. Yes, Marina is very good at selling players, but I wouldn't exactly call this a shining example.
  12. Oilers fire Chiarelli, took them long enough jfc. Good thing for their fans that he's been fired before he could do even more serious long-term damage. Now maybe Edmonton can get a GM who has more than one brain cell and can give McDavid actual wingers to play with. I'm going to miss him, he was a great double agent for us.
  13. Saw DBS Broly for the third time today, enjoyed it just as much as I did the first two times. I love everything about this movie
  14. It's all nice and fun to hear Sarri call out the squad's mentality and motivation, but if he starts the same under-performers again like he has so far this season, I swear to god. Obviously things need to be shaken up right? Drop some of these players, make them fight to earn their spots back. I'm so sick of seeing Willian starting every match, we were told by Sarri that CHO was on the same level of Willian and Pedro, and he's played fucking 19 minutes since Tottenham. Alonso works hard I guess, but he's been so bad recently so why can't Emerson get at least a chance? That being said, there's obviously something very wrong with this core if THREE straight managers have criticized their mentality. We saw Mourinho put too much trust in this group after 2014-15 and it cost him his job the next season when every player just stopped giving a fuck whereas we thought he was just past it, we saw Conte clash with a few players and we thought he was overly abrasive and toxic last season instead of looking at the players, and now Sarri is having problems with these players too. It's clear what the common problem has been these past few seasons, Sarri is just airing it out earlier than Mou and Conte did. If he loses the dressing room and this group of special snowflakes who don't like getting their poor little feelings hurt down tools and push out another manager, then I'm just done, absolutely infuriating. I'm not really confident of beating Japan, but if we can keep it relatively competitive against Iran, who I'm convinced will win the tournament, then we definitely can against Japan. It's not like they've been that good this tournament. It would take a very special performance since their sheer quality completely dwarfs ours, but... a shock is not completely outside the realm of possibility in my mind.
  15. Another day of "I hope I wake up to the Paredes and Higuain deals being completed" I don't expect Higuain to be done soon (if it does happen), but I hope Paredes signs within the next few days. I'm really excited about him. fucking lol I can't see how anyone could possibly believe that that would work out, English tabloids are something else.
  16. ngl I teared up slightly at the ending of chapter 2 of Danganronpa 2 That was so intense
  17. Haven't watched much basketball lately outside of my Raptors but I tuned into Warriors-Nuggets because I thought it'd be a really good game... all I saw was a harsh reminder that Golden State still owns the league. Cousins is coming back soon as well ffs...
  18. CHO has, I think, the most natural talent and potential of any player that's come through the academy since John Terry. I think most of our fans knew of his potential since 2017 and really started getting hyped about it after last pre-season. I've honestly never seen our fans so excited about a youth player, which says a lot considering we've had a lot of good youth players over the years. Even though he naturally plays on the left, he's been our best RW in the past few matches and was good against Tottenham the other day. He's very direct, and even though he's young, I'd say he already has a better footballing IQ than Willian. In a vacuum, £35m for an 18 year old who only has a handful of senior appearances with 18 months left on his contract is a good deal no matter their potential, but right now most Chelsea fans would reject it without a second thought and I think the club will too. It's complicated. We still realistically have six months to convince him to stay, and we don't need to sell him right now since he's made a strong claim to a starting spot and Willian/Pedro is just inadequate for the rest of the year. It looks like we'll get a transfer ban as well so having to buy another RW when we'll have no leverage is... not ideal. Also Chelsea fans get very attached to any youth players who show potential of becoming a first team starter, since we just don't really see it often with the way our club views youth players/the academy. If he goes, I really think everyone will look back on it in some ways as another De Bruyne.
  19. Just need to vent a little bit about the CHO saga I'm upset but at least we are doing almost everything we can to keep him, it's not like with De Bruyne where we/Mourinho just wasted and discarded his obvious talent (I still see red when I think about that). If he leaves then the only complaint I'd really have is that the actions to convince him to stay came too late. There's no reason for him to not have gotten as many EL/EFL Cup minutes as possible. Still, he's gotten more opportunities than what a normal Chelsea youth player would get, it just seems that his head's been turned by Bayern and he simply wants to play for them. He's getting minutes but the rumours haven't died down. I have to say that he's played this really intelligently, he has us on a string.
  20. Niceeee that's really cool to hear! Both of our teams are looking really good this year, especially on offense, so it should be a fun game (I don't think we'll lose 9-1 again, unless Mike Smith is in net) Also just need to say that Gaudreau-Monahan-Lindholm + Tkachuk and Gio are fun af to watch in-person
