This will be my first post here and I just couldn't help myself. I am glad you are having this argument, the cat is out of the bag and people are showing their true colors. I have been a fan of Chanyeol since maybe a little more than a year, so I might not know him as well as some of you do so please correct me if I'm wrong. At first, I have tried to get into Exo as a whole but the constant disgusting and totally uncalled agression towards Chanyeol and coming from supposedly exo-ls had me completely ostracized.
I fell really hard for Chanyeol so I decided to backtrack all the threads that concerned him and I was left completely speechless. He was litteraly persecuted and people were hating on him as if it was a trend. I know he is no angel but pretty much all that was said about him was uncalled for. I mean it is obvious that I would end up as an individual after witnessing such treatment and I have a hard time comprehending how it can be otherwise..
With that being said, why in the world should Chanyeol fans refrain to voice their disappointment and anger in his own thread. ???? Their concern is totally justified imo. This new album is totally showing unfairness to him, his lack of lines is flagrant and his screentime is close to nonexistent (when he is not sharing it).
From any point of view (except for group fans maybe) this round of promotion won't benefit him personnally. He will get only few new fans because he's constantly at the back and will certainly not improve his singing or rapping with his 3 lines. All members fans are constantly complaining about lines distribution and screentime and solo activities. Why is it a problem when Chanyeol fans do ? Why do we have to stay quiet ? People need to realize that exo is done growing as a group. They aren't getting any younger. Chanyeol needs to build his own solo career in parallel to exo's activities. That means being present to properly promote his first movie as a lead.
You might think it is selfish but Chanyeol totally deserves the right to be selfish. For all the harships international fans put him through, they have no right to demand anything from him, especially not to contribute anymore to the group to the detriment of his own projects he's been working so hard for. This is what actually matters because promoting his new movie could actually make a huge difference when it comes to his popularity and reputation in China.
Let's be honest here : Some of you are "stanning" Chanyeol for the wrong reasons if you are totally okay with the way SM and ifans (especially exo-ls) are treating him.
