I had totally given up on Onehallyu during the long wait but now I’m back and happy to see that the search function is still useless for finding official threads. Ugh. anyhoo glad to see this thread is still going. And that high ponytail look for Yuto is a look!

Anyone following the Star Road episodes on vlive? Yuto had to do a sexy dance and for some reason used Wooseok as a wall? I’ll spoiler it now that Yuto’s dance was mostly awkward and lol worthy but it was the second time that Wooseok got used as a prop for a questionable mission. I’m amazed at how accepting he is of his hyungs requests. He just ambles up accepts the crazy request and ambles back to his place. Makes me want to protect him, and make him do crazy stuff too!

Kaibibi posts the most interesting videos! I love Spring Snow now that I’ve seen it performed, and the Selfie MV was fun. It’s such a good sign for their popularity that they’re doing other little bits on these shows. How I wish I was going to their concert too!

How did I forget about the double birthday? Happy birthday to two people who hung on and fought through some tough times to reach their debut and have continued to show us their energy and commitment to their group and their fans. In other thoughts how great is it to see Kino back performing? It made me think that I’m glad Pentagon didn’t get their first win this promotion because it would be a win without Kino. He would feel forever bittersweet if that happened and I think the others would also feel a little odd to have their first win without everyone working for it. Even though I loved seeing Kino perform my favourite part was Jinho ‘piggybacking‘ Yanan. I relise now I love the humour in Pentagon the best. Also who decided to have Jinho stand between Yuto and Yanan in the line? I just need a fancam of Yuto performing this now.

And it was FIRE! I was laughing the whole time. Especially the bit where early Yanan was so strict that having earrings meant a you were a bad person... They’re getting more little side gigs on the show, that’s a good sign, a very good sign. I’m still loving this era and even more so now that Yuto’s hair has changed. I’m glad the duo Changu and Yanan are back too.

I know what you mean about popularity, apart from Hui and EDawn they haven’t really pushed anyone yet. They tried with Wooseok recently but I don’t think it really stuck this time. I hope they try again to push someone soon.

That cut dance was fun! Yuto’s stupefied face when he did well was funny. Hui measuring their thighs and teasing them reminds me that hui would be good on a variety show where he can tease people.

Right from Pentagon Maker, though that bitty format was really off putting at first. I still like the idea of filling out a pentagon shape though, seems fairer and more solid a reasoning than some survival shows. Thank goodness someone here linked me to that translated list and I could finally follow them in order or I might have given up.

OMG why isn’t this a thing more often like why is this the first time I’ve seen one? I loved the changes and their goofy faces combined with their sexiness was crazy fun. I’m loving this comeback it’s such fun and they’re so into it. It’s something I really like about them their obvious pleasure in performing and interacting with people. Also I really like their styling too, even Yuto’s hair is styled in the best possible way so it’s not a complete train wreck. And damn Wooseok stop getting so handsome.

The album is solid, I like all the songs even the weird one, and you all know which one that is. I was a bit worried for rap unit but they pulled it off well and I didn’t find any of it grating or annoying probably put it on my exercise playlist. Ballad unit came through as expected, that song is going on my driving playlist to sing along to on the long drives to and from work as I relieve stress. I got the feeling people didn’t like the title track but I really like it and hope it gets some good attention, it’s catchy and they all look good and the lives are on point. I don’t know if this will be there follow up from Shine, but I think it’ll do well. Comeback performance had lots of energy and Yana’s solo cam showed him feeling it. All I need is a Yuto fan cam and I’m happy. Speaking of, how funny was the vlive! The earphone game is okay with native speakers, but second language is funnier because it’s harder for them and the game shows the real struggle. Poor earnest Yuto, and Yanan showing his funny side again! Come Universes let show some support!

Remember last time Got7 only got on that show because JYP himself accepted to go with them. The show wanted JYP and he pulled a 2for1 deal on them. This is so familiar, every boy group in JYPE goes through this. Don’t be too upset! I don’t often enjoy rap heavy stuff but I’m constantly impressed with Straykidz music and this comeback is no different. I love how different their themes and songs are from the mass. Haven’t picked my fav yet but mixtape moves me! And Chronosaurus is a jam. On the topic of JYPE and boy groups...I’d spoiler my rant but the menu’s are difficult on this device. JYPE has a formula for their boy groups that has served them well. They could get out there and push their rookie idols forward making deals using Twice, Got7, JYP and 2pm as sweeteners but they may jeopardise their relationship with their senior idols like that. Also, and it’s been said many times, JYPE doesn’t go out hard selling every minute of their idols time to keep the moolah rolling in. It’s too hard on everyone including the agency who may have to compromise on their standards to get a favour. There aren’t magic wands, there is only a system of favours and paybacks, which would surely including paying bribes to get their kids to the front of the line or pulling a Seung... in fact from memory it does, even getting them on the music shows is practically bribery, managers wait around doorways to try and beg or bribe for a slot on the overfilled shows. Only absolute top tier are probably assured a spot and even then the station holds the power. I know it’s frustrating but stay strong, when your faves are still going strong 7 years later and doing solo stuff they love without showing their a**es as crappy people you’ll feel better about them learning the ropes in their early days. Look out for them highlighting a member or two each comeback, slowly building public awareness and growing recognition for their other talents. They’ll be testing waters to see who’s going to catch the public eye then build from there. Keep hoping and pushing though, but push the stations not the agency. Idols get a better deals if the station asks for them instead of being thrown at the shows in a shower of bribery, and from history JYPE isn’t going to change their style....sigh, it’s one of the risks when you fan the JYPE groups....

I like it a lot so far, it sounds like something that will make the vocals shine. It’d be good if they alternate between a vocal heavy song and then a rap heavy song for their releases. Keep it interesting. Crossing fingers that they don’t go the heavy makeup route again.

Can’t believe how much I like this mini. I admit I was cringing at the thought of listening to a rap mini. Well done to the younguns though, I like the mix of songs. Surprise has rendered me a bit stupid but I hope we get more minis from unexpected duos/mashups.

Loving that soft choreography and use of the occasional snapping movements as contrast. Can’t wait for more if this is the quality we’re getting from units.

Haven’t been on here to comment in so long! I love this song and I’m so happy that Yuto-da made a comeback! The video is so pretty but could they stop with the heavy makeup? The makeup combined with the dark lighting makes them look covered in dust? Hui and Kino’s unit song is so touching and again I’m reminded just how many good voices there are in Pentagon. I still find Yanan’s voice to be the prettiest but damn Hui your voice has a emotion to it the will make you a star your entire life.
