OH! Press

Everything posted by SLY

  1. Okay I wrote the thread as an OH!Press writer but who the hell does THAT with a fRiEnD and posts it online with a caption "I love you"????? I know Kpop fans reach too much with idol interactions but I think they look too lovey-dovey on that photo that one can't help but look at that photo and think they are together?? And correct me if I'm wrong isn't this like, the most intimate SNS post between male idols from different groups???
  2. On November 6, around 4:00 in the morning, Leo posted a picture of him and Xiumin getting pretty close with each other. Their noses touching while Xiumin's hand is on the back of his neck in a room with red lights. The caption he originally put was: "You punk !!!!! I love you" but removed the "I love you" later that day. Throughout the whole day of November 6, the two of them became trending topics and even their groups. Xiumin and Leo have always been friends being that EXO and VIXX debuted around the same time and the two of them are same-aged. VIXX and EXO as groups are also famed to be very close with each other. Nonetheless, the photo still surprised a lot of people. Earlier this year, a selca of the two looking very comfortable and cute was also posted but it wasn't as sus as the one above. Due to the attention, it was even covered by Korean news sites. Top Star News: "I love you, punk" VIXX Leo and EXO Xiumin displays true friendship Sports Donga: Leo-Xiumin very close two-shot / VIXX Leo and EXO Xiumin shows extraordinary friendship In the embedded tweet above, I was pretty surprised that even the Korean fans who are QRT-ing the tweet are questioning the use of the word "friendship" in the context. I don't mean that the photo necessarily insinuates *that* but it definitely is not befitting of "friendship". Leo recently released a song following his military discharged and Xiumin storied his support for Leo's single "I'm Still Here". @e_xiu_o: "It's finally out!! Stay with me >.< ♡ #Leo-I'mStillHere" An interesting thing that EXO fans discovered is that the photo may not be recent and was shot on November 1st. The sweater Xiumin was wearing in the photo is what Xiumin wore after a live broadcast on November 1. More interestingly, it was on that broadcast that Xiumin revealed(reiterated) that he's single and it didn't have an overtime. EXO-Ls connected the dots that after doing the broadcast, Xiumin went to Leo's. Just yesterday, unintentionally fanning the flames, Leo went to watch Xiumin's musical shooting the name of the men once again onto the trending topics. I think it'd be really easy to rule out that Leo posted the photo for "fan service" because... they're already 31, their days of fanservice is long over. The trending photo may have been posted due to the influence of alcohol or may have been intentionally posted by Leo to appreciate Xiumin; Leo and Xiumin may indeed be really close friends (close enough to do that with each other) but if they are developing something romantically, I'm happy for them and I can only hope for their happiness! Go make out and post it online if you want to! Leo just released a single called "I'm Still Here", go stream +I forgot to add that Xiumin is the only person that Leo follows on IG aside from VIXX members
  3. To provide context... Kim Jongkook debuted when Yunho was only 9 years old. He has been around for way longer and his personality has been nothing but consistent. It's not actually self-portrayed like what your example of Yunho is but it's verified through various accounts from other people. Yoo Jaesuk, Cha Taehyun, Lee Kwangsoo, Haha, and nearly all people surrounding Kim Jongkook have been very vocal of the latter's stinginess and overall personality. The dots do connect so as a fan of Kim Jongkook since I discovered Running Man, I circumstantially believe what the knetz say rather than the seemingly-insecure youtuber.
  4. Muscular atrophy is a very normal bodily process that can begin as early as 30 so yeah, the answer to your question is yes. But in the context of Kim Jongkook who eats healthily and never misses out on exercise (obviously), it is virtually non-palpable.
  5. That GUGUGONE drag is so uncalled for.............. the name Gugudan already drags itself

  8. Golden Child's Daeyeol has a master's degree, rumored to be taking his doctorate already...
  9. You're either reaching or started stanning groups in 2020.
  10. Now this is interesting because this never happened before.. Jibeom getting used for the thumbnail of videos THAT much?

    Funniest Korean series?

    Oh, right! This too!
  12. I'm not into k-drama as much as I am with k-pop and k-variety but I have watched a lot of them and I do enjoy a good comedic k-drama. I believe it's harder to make people laugh rather than to scare them (horror), make them feel the butterflies (romance), or make them feel amazed (medical), so I really appreciate good comedies. These are the three that made me genuinely laugh every single episode. Shopaholic Louis Welcome to Waikiki Mr. Queen Out of the three I'm torn which one made me laugh the best between Waikiki and Mr. Queen. Waikiki is more of a sitcom type (but not totally a sitcom, just the comedy aspect) with absurd characters in funny situations while Mr. Queen is set in a historical setting full of crazy antics by our hero/ine. Yours?
  13. Woollim groups are notorious for having b-sides that should've been saved for title tracks... Here are the best examples: INFINITE - Shower Lovelyz - Triangle/Cameo Golden Child - Fanfare Rocket Punch - Twinkle Star Drippin - Reach Out Your Hands
  14. I'm really dumbfounded by some NCTzens on Twitter right now. I know it's an unsaid rule how we shouldn't bring Twitter mess here but there's a point by the end to make. So Golden Child's Jaehyun's legal name is Bong Jaehyun and his stage name is either his full name or just Jaehyun. Now on the tweet embedded above, it has been "ratioed" and the qrts are bombarded by NCT fans. It may appear that most tweets now are from fans defending him, but being active in Ness twt, I can assure you there are TONS of tweets targetting him for literally having the same name. What seems to be more of an issue is that the hashtag #Jaehyun currently has a hashflag (or the emoji that appears by the end by default when you tweet) that is the face of NCT's Jaehyun. The NCT fans are saying Golden Child's Jaehyun should use #봉재현 instead of #재현 since the latter would generate the hashflag of the NCT member. I'm really dumbfounded by this because 1. It's his goddamn birth name. He is born into the world as Jaehyun. 2. NCT's Jaehyun is now legally Jung Yunoh, meaning what he's using right now is just a stage name. 3. There are TONS of other Jaehyuns in Korean showbiz namely Ahn Jaehyun, Kim Jaehyun (N.Flying), and the real name of The Boyz's Hyunjae which is Lee Jaehyun. Golcha's, NCT's, N.Flying's, and Tbz's even had a special unit named "Jaehyunz". Now I know it's just the dumb ones of the fandom which are inevitable parts of the culture but this all rooted with the hashflags. Before, though there were already some bashing when Golcha first revealed they have a member named Jaehyun, there weren't much of a hate train but now that the hashtags on Twitter would be associated to a picture of a certain Jaehyun by default, then it'd be inevitable. This has been happening to Golden Child every time NCT has a comeback and now that promotions overlapped with AB6IX too, the name Donghyun also has a cherry hashflag on it. I think this should be limited to group names and non-common names or Twitter should at least have an option to remove it. Honestly, I wasn't much fan of such since there literally can be multiple uses for keyterms and putting in emojis no one asked for is such a capitalist move. Not only is it disrespectful, it also diminishes the purpose of using hashtags in the first place which is to connect tweets to one another. If these are present, the name is as good as copyrighted and would be gatekept throughout the duration. What do you think about hashflags?
  15. I haven't really quit a fandom I've been in but there is one group I used to be crazy about but lost interest over time. It's because of one member whose ideals and political views that I get are his rights to have but still disappointed me. It's trivial but I can't find myself supporting and cheering for them as much as I did before because of one person.
  16. First of all the main reason is because they weren't given comebacks, also Mijoo is not the only active member since pretty much every member had solo schedules during the hiatus. NEXT.
  17. There are dramas where the main character is really poor but has the newest expensive model of LG or Samsung phones...
  18. He's got a lot of "lookalikes" but I think the most resemblant is Ha Seokjin..
  19. Nah, still the same. Jibeom wasn't totally ignored. Just like everyone else, he's just not given the opportunities. He's part of the All Day show (I think it's The Playlist) because he's the next-in-line when it comes to vocals. Jibeom is prolly considered the unofficial third main vocal. I think Jibeom just has bigger presence today as a result of his improvement. On OT10 shows, he has the role to be funny so he's getting more screentime for those but it's because he's... funny. Not spoonfed but earned. But I do understand you, Jibeom became more popular this year among the fandom but I doubt he's being "pushed" more.
  20. NOTE: To those who think positions are trivial, please do not interact. I've been writing Jibeom threads a lot and this is not an exception. Of course when it comes to Golden Child visuals, it's Bomin who's most recognized. Not only is Bomin the visual and center of the group, he's also the most popular member for his previous acting works and MC-ing. Aside from Bomin, another member that Woollim promotes is Jaehyun who also did some acting. However, among the Golden Child fandom, there's another visual member: Jibeom. Golden Child members, variety shows, and their appearances on shows all say that Jibeom is a Golcha visual yet the only Golden Child visuals Woollim ever officially promotes are Bomin and Jaehyun making Jibeom somewhat a Woollim unofficial-everything official visual. It has been revealed by Joochan that Jibeom was originally part of the visual line but he can sing so he's a no-go. But fans already know that man's REALLY handsome. Now from this point forward, I don't mean to be mean to Jaehyun who I also really really love but I'll speak from my observation. I dived into Korean forum sites (instiz, theqoo, and pann) and most of the responses about Golden Child's most handsome member are Bomin and Jibeom. There were lots of comments that say "The company is pushing Bomin and Jaehyun but Jibeom too". Here are some screenshots of Jibeom on 1theK's special clip of Golcha performing DDARA. Take note that the photos below are taken while man's in motion. I mean, isn't he super gorgeous?! Every fan knows it. Another interesting fact about Jibeom among the fandom is that in Golden Child's Twitter account, the most retweeted tweets for August and for September are his selcas. He's always among the members who get the most hearts and rts on Twitter and even more than Bomin. When Golden Child posted the teasers for DDARA, it's Jibeom's photos that have the most hearts and rts too. So we already established that Jibeom's handsome, fans think he's handsome, and he's also popular.... but Woollim does him NOTHING. Always in the back of formations. If not in the back, he's always in the edge. Even in his own line's, he's barely ever at the center of the choreography. He's NEVER put at the center of ANY concept photo. All that he used to have are singing lines as the lead vocal but now, even the main dancer who is a sub-vocalist gets more lines than him. Was originally a "visual" until the company was like "nah". I swear, if there's anything Woollim is really great at aside from messing up is not listening to fans. This may sound biased and it is but I swear, Jibeom deserves way better. I love every single Golden Child member and Woollim wronged every single one of them one way or another but I feel it the most towards Jibeom (and Daeyeol). The video below is my motivation to write this thread, look at him, he's STUNNING. TLDR fuck woollim
  21. They did perform another song by the end of the same event but only as four. They recently reunited but this was the end of namyu.
