  1. am i crying no im just sweating from my eyes

but seriously tho the MV is so cute and quirky and it really reflected their playful personalities and don't even get me started on that lowkey shipping

*excited Seokmin voice* Chansol! Chansol couple!!!

Also dat Wongyu. Wonwoo really needs to learn how to pose though, he always looks so stiff and he needs to live up to his "the instrument I play is your heart" reputation. I know he wants to look cool and kinda cold but we all know better. :har:

  2. Hi! Finally I'm here yay! I've been their fan since 2013 and my biases are Junghan, Mingyu, Seokmin, Jisoo ,Doyoon and Dongjin. It's hard to choose a bias tbh. Btw, am I the only one who still feels awkward when calling them by their stage name?

Hi! my biases are junghan and joshua (not seokmin) and also doyoon ):

yea, I'm not using their stage names...it feels weird

Mine are Soonyoung, Jihoon and Chan. I kind of think Hoshi fits Soonyoung but I haven't warmed up to Woozi for Jihoon or Dino for Chan. The8 is also kind of strange for a name, and "Vernon" just doesn't sound right for Hansol. I dunno. Not to mention whatever S.Coups is supposed to mean...

  3. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THESE MORONS ON VARIETY SHOWS

    IMAGINE WEEKLY IDOL GDI

WAIT DONGJIN DIDN'T MAKE IT??? ; A ; My sister loved him a lot.

also, are there new members I'm confused bc I can't recognize one or two of them

    (i see u minghao)

Yeah, Dongjin just kinda disappeared at one point. Apparently he just went back to school and is hooked on computer games or something.

Minghao is the only new member...I think they're just all made up and hard to recognize.

  4. A lot of people here think that like at-least half of EXO (of all 12) are gay.

This is so confusing because there is like some sort of proof but 6 out of 12 men is super super rare.

Unless SM purposely chose 6 gay trainees to form EXO.

Eh, people here are just having fun. It's fun to speculate and so many of them ping so hard that there's always a lot of new material to discuss whether the topic is even EXO or not. They could all be gay for all we know. As long as people don't go all Perez Hilton and start insisting people need to come out of the closet or something then there's really no harm in any of it.

(There's probably also a lot more gay/bi/pan etc people around than you may think :ninja: )

  5. I've been watching these guys since really early 2013 back when their names hadn't even been revealed yet and they all had nicknames based on what they wore on the live streams. I'm so glad their debut is going well so far! Soonyoung (Hoshi) and Jihoon (Woozi) were my biases since the very beginning and it's amazing to discover that they had so much to do with creating Adore U and its choreography...Seventeen hwaiting! This is probably already in this thread but I'm posting it anyway because everyone should see it at least once to see what these dorks are like (it has some members that are no longer part of Seventeen in it though):

Also here's some Joshua, S.Coups, Hoshi and Jun singing from 2013:

I'm so late to the party...

  6. Bisexuality is also thing, so hitting on girl groups doesn't discount him being into dudes automatically  :ninja:

They're all way overly enthusiastic about girl groups on there though. Even Kevin, who I believe has stated multiple times that he's really not that into girl groups  :derp:

Ahhh, I'm really bad at saying what I mean sometimes, sorry. I know all too well about bisexual erasure and wasn't trying to imply that they can't possibly be bi, it's just that I've followed Hanbyul for a while and I know that his thirst for the ladies is very real. He could be bi for all I know I was just trying to say that he likes to make really bizarre jokes; it's not uncommon for him to make fun of his fans let alone Eric Nam, and he's the type of person who would say stuff like that intentionally to stir things up for his own amusement.

    Who knows, though:

  7. What do people think about Soohyun from U-Kiss? I know Kevin is the one people usually focus on in that group but honestly Soohyun has always pinged me just as much. I know about the whole Jokwon texts situation but in addition to that there's just something about his behavior that seems very guarded and rehearsed, like he's trying to hide who he is, moreso than an idol already has to. Maybe I'm looking into it too much though...

okay mark, we get it, your boyfriend is the best at everything :hurr:

    humble Jr. :chu:

Jr. became my Got7 bias just from Dream Knight alone. The boy can act, that's for sure. The others weren't bad but Jr. was just on another level. Those intense stares... :ahmagah:

Anyway, Mark seems like such a genuinely sweet person. His image is suppoed to be all cool and sk8terboyish but you can tell he's just a giant teddy bear who loves to glomp and cuddle people. I love it.

  9. This is kinda old, but I'm bored and browsing through ASC videos on youtube and landed on this one. It's right at the beginning, Hanbyul says the word "boyfriend" not once, but three times and nobody bats an eyelash  :derp:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91cOPLEgFyE

He also tells him not to look far, and then there's that little bump and grind sesh after 4:00ish... Hmm  :imstupid:

Them giggling after he said "playing by myself" though  :hurr:

Gotta love Hanbyul. I'm glad he's going solo, his voice is really underrated. He's also a really quirky person and I'm guessing the boyfriend comments were just a bizarre mixture of Aussie and Hanbyul humor because that boy hit on like every single girl group they ever had on during his tenure at ASC. I'm not saying it isn't a possibility but I don't find it likely. Take a look at his "Blah Blah" series of videos if you want to see what I mean about his sense of humor.

  10. Come now, there's no need to call her an "it". Trolls are people too.

Welcome! We've all been there with her, it's best just to ignore her when she's being unreasonable  :derp:

If you look at how things happened in the Anglosphere, it seems that things are going a good 2-3x as fast in Korea. The circumstances are a bit different, but the general progression of things is pretty similar. That means that within the next few years, assuming things continue the way they are, we should start seeing the floodgates breaking and popular celebrities finally coming out.

Except... probably not idols. Other musicians yes, but not idols until they're ready to retire. Other entertainers sell their performance above everything else, but idols sell the fantasy of being sexually or romantically attractive. That's why just dating the opposite sex often causes a large drop in fandom size. If you're not even interested in the opposite sex, even if your fans aren't homophobic most of them are going to unstan because you've just shattered the fantasy. You see the same thing in the Anglosphere... a lot of various types of entertainers (including musical artists) have come out, but idols are mysteriously absent from that equation.

Why do you think that things are progressing so much more quickly there? I see what you mean about idols, though. I realize now that comparing the 2 countries was a bit silly considering how different their histories and cultures are. Korean idols are expected to stay single it seems whereas that might raise some eyebrows in the west, which seems to be why we see so many "beard" relationships with celebrities that come out later there. There's also the entirely different view on family dynamics.

I just want people to be comfortable being themselves, darnit. I guess I should just be grateful that big topics like this exist. I'm pansexual so I've always been a bit critical of gender roles so I apologize in advance if I ever come across as seeming too harsh or ethnocentric. It just seems to me that a lot of people in kpop are really struggling to hide their true selves and I think that's a shame. If I could bring up Jonghyun again, did anyone ever figure out what the context of his interview was (the one where he cried and said he can't be himself and that people wouldn't like him if they knew him). I've always been highly suspicious of him.

the director has called plenty of shots making it clear that takuya is aware of his affect on joonjae. notice how some shots show him with a darker, lustful, mischievous expression. takuya is not a very good actor, so he's not just doing these naturally. he is being directed to do them.

Never forget the scene where Takuya slid down the wall after being reverse kabe-doned by Joonjae. Takuya is just a troll...

    A wonderful troll...

  11. I'm not trying to derail any current discussions but...

Hello everybody! Long time lurker here. I was about to create an account anyway so that's why I bothered to reply to Regina; I won't continue that discussion here anymore, she was just bothering me.

Anyway, does anyone think that the climate towards homosexuality in Korea will change anytime soon? I read somewhere that a survey done fairly recently showed that about 71% Koreans aged 18-29 think that homosexuality should be accepted, while only about 16% of Koreans over 50 felt the same way. That's clearly a very large generational gap, but could it affect kpop at all in the near future? I guess what I'm trying to ask is whether or not anyone here thinks that any idols will feel safe enough to come out anytime soon. The acceptance in the younger demographic might not mean anything in the short-term, but keep in mind that recent attitudes in the US changed pretty significantly in a matter of a few years (even among older demographics), just look at the acceptance of gay marriage. If more attention is brought to the issue, maybe something is possible.
