Isn't this just favourite singers, not favourite k-singers since the top 10 are Jpn singers? If shinee ranked 15 among Kpop in Jpn, that's actually pretty bad given all the time spent there (and also ludricous given their proven popularity)

came back here simply to post: HAPPY SHINee 9!!! lost count (or refused to count) the number of years I've been here, but you have honestly brought plenty of smiles and comfort through your dorky, genuine, and wise selves. thank you for being sincere always, and for bringing such great music and performance all the time. i think i have impossibly high standards, after watching you all these years, but still you manage to blow me away time and again. and after all these years, to have finally had the privilege of watching you live this feb, to hear those vocals, see those performances, i am truly in awe. all i wish for you is endless happiness and boundless health to pursue whatever it is you desire, individually and as five.

lead vocalist of group hexe, (lee) soyeah, who is set to make her solo debut, has revealed that her debut single, “to my starâ€, was written / inspired with blue night and jonghyun in mind. soyeah revealed in her debut interview (which can be found at the source) that she was an avid fan / listener of blue night radio throughout the three years that jonghyun was dj, and that when he announced he was stepping down from the show, she was so saddened / filled with sorrow about it that she was inspired to write the song.. “to my star†(which a clip can be listened to of here) will be released today at12pm kst. (source) the official music video for “to. my star†by hexe’s soyeah has been released. as mentioned in this post: soyeah wrote the song with blue night radio / jonghyun in mind after he announced his leave from the show, due to her being a longtime fan of him on it. a note that the song was actually played during his final broadcast of blue night radio (which you can find a snippet of from her official instagram here) before it’s official release (which was today) though no one is sure if jonghyun was aware when playing it that the song was written by another idol. a translation of the lyrics (which are said to be very cute / sweet) will be coming soon. the song can be downloaded on melon as well! cr: http://fyjjong.tumblr.com/ --- eta: and jjong tweeted about it! swc vancouver. i'm not going to do a full FA, because the whole night was kinda a blur. i don't know how people retain sufficient sanity and mind to actually recount what happened step by step. all i can say is, it was fucking amazing. their vocals were seriously out of this world. like seriously out of this world. like unbelievably so. they sounded so much like the cd versions i seriously doubted so many times if they were singing live or lipsyncing. but when they were actually lipping, it was obvious. the recorded tracks sounded kinda off--like a lot more nasal than their actual voices. i know the rdd mishap seemed like a bad thing, but it felt like such a bonding experience between shinee and shinee world. i actually won't have it any other way. jjong was seriously professional about it and immediately took charge of the situation, pumped up the crowd, and went straight on. and it felt like such an intimate moment when shinee world took over the audio and sang for them. replay was by far my favourite song of the night. i haven't heard any streams of swc v so it came as a complete surprise. it was so so beautiful. the acapella start and the harmonization of the voices. jongyu pdg was so i-have-no-words-to-describe. the boys looked kinda tired and out of it, understandably so, but still put on such a great performance. they were also super cheesy with each other (with all the "baby"s and the "hot hot" and "passionate"). ontae were considerably quieter than jongminkey, but still so very sweet and precious. minkey got a lot of screams. ming was obviously a hot favourite and goddamn he looked like adonis geek god. all in all, it made me wonder how swc in seoul must be like. the boys were great and so very genuine, but it was obvious they felt kinda awkward and tired. i imagine if they are like this with new audience in a "strange" place, they must be even more open and intimate with the k-shawols during swc in seoul. i sure this is sounding kinda off, but i imagine the atmosphere in swc in seoul must feel 100x more intimate and precious. swc vancouver was just the slightest taste of it.

when i say fanservice, i didn't mean they are doing this at a loss, since obviously sm/shinee got a flat fee for it. if there's a loss, it'll be the organizers brunt to bear. but the profits for putting on a NA tour compared to their profits for putting on a JAT or even a jpn fanmeet is simply not comparable. the fact they aren't putting in effort for the merch should tell you as much, considering the bulk of the profits from doing tour is not ticket sales but merch sales. what i meant was they obviously aren't doing this as a huge sales thing, but rather as a fanservice/marketing thing. this is not too different than them (and sn!sd) continuing to put out kr albums. both groups make way more money releasing jpn albums + jpn touring. kr album really doesn't have too much returns aside from whatever pittance they get from album sales and swc in seoul + a small handful of other stops. but they continue to do so because, at least in sn!sd's word, it's for the fans (+ it keeps them relevant enough to score some huge multimillion dollar kr cfs).

plus, their profit margin in japan is quite ridiculous so it'll be hard pressed to justify spending all the time and work making an overseas tour happen when it is going to be much less profitable with much lower attendance as opposed to doing a JAT. them going to NA this time probably is more of a fanservice thing than an actual sales/profit thing since 4 stops in NA will probably make much less than 1 stop in jpn, all things considered. it sucks, but at the end of the day, it's business.

been busy, but good. also, needed to step away from the crazy that was going on in the forum for a bit. onto more exciting news, i'll be seeing shinee!! YAAAAYYYYYSSSS!!!!

HIHI!!

hi all! been back for a little while but have been lurking for the most parts. hope everyone is doing great! decided to reply here since i'm skiving at work. :X BN is actually the most popular radio show for the late night time slot, which is why there is always so much advertisements. BN is actually supposed to be a "music-focused" radio show (i.e., anti-idol/anti-pop music). jjong is actually the first idol to host it. previous dj was sung si-kyung and they rarely played any idol music on the show. back then, sung si-kyung praised shinee on BN and played sherlock and it was a huge deal precisely because BN was so "anti-idol". i remember when ex0 first guested on bn, it caused some ruckus in the fandom because people felt sm was abusing BN/jjong and it might be detrimental to jjong's position on BN.

not at all! please feel free to do so! i think a number of us are lazy/busy so less able to post updates here, even though i think most of us have our own sources (twitter, fansites, main thread, etc.) so we don't really use this thread to keep updated, just use this thread to discuss things here and there at times.
-
So amazing!! I love the one step one step, two step two step part. So catchy!
-
what about x0? or the soloists? i mean if the entire company is getting jewel cases, then it's not only shinee.
-
the main thread is too messy for me. i'm gonna hide out here. if you love her is so nice! wish upon a star is too slow for me. my ranking right now: tmwtd, rescue, iylh, bl, wuas

i just got home from work and have just heard the song and am feeling super blessed by the new songs. it's so so good.
-
just got home from a long day of work. haven't backtracked the pages, but holy crap, tmwtd is so so good (minus the rap part, sorry ming). this might just be my favourite title track yet. and i haven't read any theories about the mv, but it kinda reminds me of ming's derailed.

to apply a set of rules when it suits you, and another when it doesn't, that's call hypocrisy, not false equivalence. but keep doing you. ia. shows like snl are scripted (especially the skits), and even then they had eric nam who stood his grounds. the flow of knowing brothers tho, and the way those interactions took place...
-
if people really want to believe that it's scripted, then let's stop praising any idols for any smart or funny thing they say, because those words likely aren't theirs either.
