Actually it can go both ways. By associating them from Top tier company groups will get them more publicity. Since iKon debut is highly anticipated and they're having a debut( probably not, you know how YG is) around the same time of Monst X comeback. Rivaling and comparing them against each other like that will garner attention, thus making more people check out iKon's and Monsta X music. It worked for Gfriend perfectly.
