  1. I come back from vacation and I get this news! What the heck is happening....I legitimately almost had a panic attack i am not even joking idk what I will do if something happens...but I am keeping the faith. I am having nothing but positive thoughts because that's all I can handle right now. Will be here waiting with you guys when news comes out.
  2. Bom liked scooter braun's tweet I guess saying he supported Israel and peace and now everyone is dragging her. But as I said in that thread, it seems like while they are calling Bom ignorant none of them actually know what's going on over there themselves and if they did they wouldn't be so quick to drag Bom for wanting peace in that region of the world.
  3. Hi all, great to be back! I wasn't feeling too concerned about the WG's contract renewals......and then I read all of the posts on this thread......and now I'm extremely nervous, especially because of those K-netz rumors. Honestly, I don't really know why they would leave tho, because they seem to be pretty in control of their music now and I feel like they are in very good, advantageous positions for their upcoming contract negotiations to ask for things like solo projects for Yubin, a subsidiary studio for Yenny and maybe let her label manage the WG's so they'd essentially be managing themselves but still be associated w/ JYP so everyone wins, more group comebacks if they so choose, etc. etc. Or, they could just focus on solo stuff like they said they would, and maybe that's foreshadowing for them leaving JYP and signing on to other agencies to do solo work, then waiting for Sunmi's contract to be up so they can all form under a different agency, idk. Altho it would suck if that happened on their 10th anniversary as a group, and I thought that they were planning things for a big 10th anniversary celebration or something. Wouldn't them breaking apart and some leaving JYP, but Sunmi staying there kind of throw a wrench in all that? (Idk if that's true I just know I heard that somewhere, I thought it was here like months ago). I just can't take it if another one of my groups implodes, I've already been there done that and I don't think I can handle it again.
  4. I wonder what the deal is with the solo contracts CL and Dara have with YG, I wonder how long they are for. Part of me really wishes they had all just left in May when the initial 2NE1 contracts were up.
  5. Literally thank you. People should be throwing themselves at Minzy begging her for forgiveness to be honest after all the crap they put her through. It's also no wonder her family and friends were getting pissed and making statements when YG literally blamed her for everything and is still saying, well Minzy leaving in May put us in a difficult position..... YG you put yourself in a difficult position by being an incompetent moron who drove them into the ground.
  6. I was just outside doing yard work and my shuffle was 2NE1 filled: Kiss, Lollipop, Ugly, Don't Cry, take the world on, go away. One lyric stuck out to me tho, that was in Don't cry where Bom said it's time to let you go but please don't cry. It was time for 2NE1 to go, but as blackjacks we should not cry. It will hurt for some time, but as time passes we will look back at all of the fun times we had with 2NE1, all the bops they gave us, their larger than life personalities. On another note, there is just something I'm confused on. So Bom didn't renew her contract when Minzy didn't renew her contract? Does that mean CL and Dara had signed solo contracts at that time as well?
  7. I'm angry, not at the girls, but at YG like everything else because he basically wasted away one of the most successful k-pop groups in k-pop history and then just dropped them like a sack of potatoes. I just hope the girls won't fade away, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. I really really REALLY want Queen Bom to come back with songs to keep those k-netz pressed because they still can't seem to forget about Bom's scandal. But at the same time, I feel like the hate for the group wasn't as real as we all thought it was. Like remember when black pink debuted and 2NE1 songs were charting on Melon? I think 2NE1 was still loved, but for some reason they couldn't see it. I LOVE 2NE1, my first k-pop girl group cause they were edgy, in your face, talented, had such charisma, you name it they had it. I'm not shocked they disbanded, just shocked and saddened it happened this way. #thankyou2NE1 for being your iconic, talented, lovely selves and giving me so much through your music. I also wanted to thank you lovely people on this thread cause without you I wouldn't have had anyone to talk about 2NE1 things with! So thank you my fellow blackjacks!
  8. Um, but they do... And not many people are saying Muslims shouldn't care and should just brush it off, many people are upset for them and realize that it's disrespectful even tho they are not Muslim.
  9. I completely agree, and Judas was released Easter weekend if I remember correctly which is the holiest holiday for Catholics and was beyond disrespectful, but no one batted an eye. Honestly, after she released that song I haven't bought any of her music and don't really pay attention to her anymore. I'm Catholic too, and have seen countless "artists" use Catholicism as a way to be cool and break boundaries, in the U.S. and in K-pop that I have thought was extremely disrespectful. I don't understand why they feel the need to use religion, my own and the religion of others, to try and push buttons and be edgy and make a scene. It isn't cool, it isn't edgy, it's disrespectful all around. Personally, when something like that happens I stop supporting the artist. I understand why people are upset over this because the recording, to me, does sounds like what was used in CL's song which would be considered disrespect. However the death comments are completely uncalled for.
  10. Code Geass Lelouch and Shirley...excuse me as I go sob in the corner. Also Blood Blockade Battlefront's Leo and White and Yu and Guren's relationship in Seraph of the End. EDIT: OMG can't believe I forgot the iconic relationship of Kurama and Hiei in Yu Yu Hakusho
  11. Ok y'all, I'm about to rant so if you want to skip that just pass this post. I was going back and forth on buying tickets to see her last night and I'm glad I didn't. Would I have enjoyed the show if I went. Yes, it seemed like it would have been fun. Would I have been mad spending that amount of money for crappy seats in the back and transportation to get to NY just to see her do almost no new material. Yes I would have been angry cause I'm cheap and don't like spending money, but I also would have been mad that she basically just performed 2NE1 songs. Now we're about to get in some real stuff. I'm a little confused why people don't understand what happens to an artist in the U.S. I keep seeing comments from people saying "well this is what you do in the U.S." "She's in the U.S. they do things differently" and my fav. "This isn't like k-pop in Korea, it's different". I'm just going to break down what I see happen when a new artist in my home country of the U.S. of friggen A does when they want to become a musical artist in this country in an ideal situation. They have a set of demo's that they start off with and hopefully get picked up by an agency. They then record a mixed tape, EP, or single and some collaborations and release it. Then, they try and perform at small festivals, colleges and universities, etc. to get their name and music out there. They start to build up a fan base from that point on and they come out with another EP. They do another round of promotions again, maybe this time at bigger festivals and universities, maybe do some interviews on radio shows if they can get in. Then time comes for the debut album, and they either sink or swim. And maybe your first album sinks and doesn't do as well as you wanted or only has some mild success, but the second album could be a home run and sky rocket you to success and make you a household name. Now that that's out of the way, here is the issue I have with CL's advancement. First I think it is being managed in a very erratic way. It's just kind of all over the place to me and not really consistent. I also think one of the issues would be whether or not YG has a lot of say in what goes on. Being stuck between two managing agencies would probably drive me insane especially if one of them is YG and let me tell you the things he pulls wouldn't go so hot over here. Once again, I'm not sure how much involvement he has in this, but I would be surprised to learn he has little to no involvement. Second, I think they are still managing CL like a k-pop star. The reason I say this is because they release a song and then they are immediately concerned with charts, YouTube views, etc. In reality, when you are just starting out you aren't going to chart well and have crazy YouTube views, it just doesn't work that way. CL, however, does have the advantage of having a fan base in the U.S. from 2NE1 so that will definitely help her along and get her noticed. Thirdly, and most importantly, she NEEDS to release material. It was fine that at the beginning she did her two solo songs, 2NE1 covers, and then maybe her collaborations. But now we are too far in to this for her to be doing that. She needs to release an EP. I agree with the comments saying why would she go on tour without having released an EP, because let's face it she is performing pretty much the same stuff she has been performing for like the last two years. She should have either released the EP then gone on tour, or performed her song on the EP during the show. I think the problem is, that her management team expects her to release a song and then have it be a hit and be successful immediately. I honestly think that is what's holding them back from releasing CL's songs. And this isn't CL's fault. If she wants to take time and get her music to a place that she's happy with, I fully support that, that is artistic freedom and she can do what she wants in that regard. But I think they have to take a chance, like every other artist here in the U.S., and release her songs knowing that it may not be super successful or as successful as they may want it to be. I still think CL should've released a follow up single to Lifted and still think she should, maybe in November or something and then drop her EP in the beginning of next year, but we shall see what happens. I honestly wish I was on her management/marketing team cause while they are doing some things right like getting her on the Late Late show, the YouTube ad., a tour, they are also doing things really wrong and out of sequence. Anyways, those are my thoughts. Congratulations for reading to the end cause that was kinda long. If you didn't like what I said, sorry but that's how I feel. If you need a pick me up, please enjoy a gif of Bom in the spoiler below:
  12. Wait wait wait, what? Is anyone else super confused? What mv? With a 9muses mv, that doesn't make sense since I would think SE would approve the images being used in the official mv for the girls. Can someone help me understand? Or am I really just overly tired and need to go to bed?
  13. I am so ready for a Yubin solo it's insane, I literally will explode if this happens. Please JYP, I will literally throw money at you. I totally agree!
  14. Hopefully the girls will do solo stuff next year. I mean Yenny said she is planning on having another solo comeback next year so maybe Sunmi will come back too???
  15. I honestly think if 9muses had kept the momentum going in 2014 and didn't have members depart, we would have gotten the fame and recognition we had always wanted for the girls. Once again, I also think if we kept the momentum going we had in 2015 and didn't have members leave this year we could have finally gotten a first win and recognition, but we will never know.
  16. Alright y'all, I've been having some thoughts (and you know how dangerous that is lol). The other day I was thinking to myself, if I had an opportunity to change one thing about 9muses debut, what would I change. Would I have waited a little longer to make sure the girls had better vocal training? Would I have had them lip sync their first performance? Would I have waited longer for their debut and have Jaekyung leave before debut happened and have Hyuna come in as replacement for their debut (altho then we wouldn't have had our run away queen ) Would I have switched out any of the members in the debut line up for the any of the muses that joined the group later but were considered for the debut lineup? Would I have had the girls debut with Ladies instead of No Playboy? Idk. What do you guys think? Would you have changed anything about 9muses debut if you could?
  17. Omg I just watched figaro dance practice, that song is legendary! Now currently listening to prima donna album.
  18. Omg she looks gorgeous in those pics! Guys my sister got me a physical copy of 9muses Lost album (I had downloaded the songs and didn't get a physical copy) for my birthday and I am so happy! It just came in and I got a Hyemi photo card
  19. I would totally be here for rap queen Dara lol. But seriously I was watching the Kiss MV again the other day and was telling my sis how much potential Dara had. It's already been proven that she can rock pretty much any style, I feel like she would have had a lot of potential as a solo artist doing many different styles of song (obviously not saying she should be solo instead of 2NE1, I'm just saying she could have had a successful solo career in addition to 2NE1). I just wish YG gave solo projects to 2NE1 the way he gave solo projects to BB, I think each of the 2NE1 members could have had successful solo careers outside of 2NE1 activities. I also think it would have helped CL too with her American promotions to have more solo material beforehand. I completely, wholeheartedly, 100% agree with this statement and could totally see this being the case. Sign good artists, then have then waste away in the dungeon forever.
  20. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOJIN! I totally agree, altho I don't think it's going to happen unfortunately since the end of the year is closing in. I just wish we could get something else from them to follow up the success of 9muses A.
  21. YESSSSSS!!!!!!!! Those pics of Sunye, I miss her so much she is gorgeous! I'm really really hoping she and sohee perform with the Wonder Girls for an anniversary concert this coming year, I would die and it isn't too ridiculous to think there is a chance it could happen......right?
  22. It's good that CL has been gaining traction with Lifted! I really hope she releases something else to follow up and keep this momentum going especially with her tour happening really soon. I think following up before her tour starts would really help her, either another single or the EP itself.
  23. Glad you made it over to this thread, welcome! Reboot was a God send, definitely listen to Wonder World it's amazing too! Happy belated birthday to rap Queen Yubin! Also I haven't really posted in this thread too much but I'm going to try to post more often from now on. I've been on a Wonder Girls kick all week, tbh I'm surprised how timeless their songs are. Like when i'm not listening to WSL I'm still bumping to reboot and yet jamming to their english songs like Dj is mine and Like Money all at the same time. I was trying to pick my fav. b-sides from them the other day but it's impossible I love the majority of them so much!
  24. I honestly don't even count Nasty Nasty cause aside from Kyungri it didn't have a lot to do with 9muses (yes I know Sojin joined later but it wasn't confirmed when Nasty Nasty happened) and it seemed like a one and done thing that they kind of pulled together and then forgot about. Amuse was actually thoughtfully planned out by the agency and the girls have been having activities outside of the group while all the members have been leaving as opposed to 2014 where it was radio silence except Nasty Nasty.
