I think mainly because record labels / talent agencies regularly hold their own auditions?   Not to mention, you can always start out as a indie act then go major once you've reached a certain level of popularity.

Well most of them are still young so I don't think they already have a clear idea of their post-idol career. SNH's still not very popular so staying the entertainment world doesn't seem stable, but we'll just have to wait & see. SNH used to participate in many anime & manga conventions, but apparently not that regularly anymore. Have they gradually shifted their main target audience from M&A otakus (mostly male) to, I don't know, youngsters (boys & girls) in general? She doesn't even ask people to vote for her to be no.1, while we all know she's management favorite I have a question here: Out of those appeal videos, whose are your favorites? No offense but I've seen JKT fans over-react over trivial things before, so it's no surprise that some are even planning to boycott the single I do agree that a W-Center song is not perfect for a sousenkyo single, since it kinda devaluates the center's role, but JKT (and SNH too I think) are running out of catchy AKB solo center songs Soon we'll see them cover SKE, NMB, HKT's A-sides
