Random and potentially dumb question, but does anyone in here know why the official lyrics for "Hola Hola" have "throw your hands up to the sky" written as "throw your L'up to the sky" instead? I initially noticed that in the captions for the MV, but I assumed it was a typo. Then I saw it again in the lyrics section during their performances on the music shows, and ended up checking and seeing that those were part of the official Korean lyrics written on Melon. That made me think that it was maybe just me mishearing things, but I'm absolutely sure at this point that they're clearly saying "hands." In the past, I've seen Korean lyrics write "babe" when "baby" is being said instead, but I can't really figure out the reason for "L" instead of "hands" here. Is an "L" supposed to resemble a hand or was it some weird typo after all? Does anyone know?

As far as I know, he left China during the THAAD drama (and was last seen behind-the-scenes at the SBS Entertainment Awards). But he also wasn't the main PD, just one of the 3 senior PDs (and he became the main PD only after the other 2 left, and imo, ran the show during one of its worst eras). The main PD during RM's heyday had been Cho PD, who was the first to head RM China, but he also left after a few months of helping kick-start the show.

Hi, I don't know exactly when this started, but I have noticed that recently, no downvote button shows up for me on posts, only an upvote button. I have barely ever used it, so I haven't reached any quota. I read elsewhere in the thread that making a post may clear it up, so I'll see after making this post. I'll edit this to give an update. EDIT: It's back. Sorry for the useless post, and thank you for the solution earlier in the thread!

I haven't seen this mentioned yet, but there was a hilariously cute moment (+ another instance of Jiwoo's mischievous side) at the end of the encore performance of "Rumor" in Chicago: Gif form: or at 3:11 in this vid:

Random lurker here but I noticed that in tonight's performance of "Rumor," either one or both of the guys sang the last note of the last 줄래/jullae in a slightly different way by singing a slightly higher note. It was really pleasing to my ears and even felt more appropriate (imo) with it being the end of the song. I thought I would point it out in case anyone else here was interested in checking that out: (at 3:03)

Another article is out confirming that no guest will be present for the recording this Sunday. Also, based on this article, I'm probably going to be even more frustrated if the wrong people are forced to apologize once more: http://entertain.naver.com/read?oid=109&aid=0003452314 via Google translate:

Click here to view the Tweet According to several recently published reports, an SBS representative has announced that despite the fact that "Running Man" usually films on Mondays or Tuesdays, and following the cancellation of filming on the 19th, the show will resume filming on Sunday, December 25th because of conflicts with the members' schedules. All of the members are expected to be present. It also unknown if the members will be able to attend the SBS Entertainment Awards that same day, and it is currently undecided if there will be a guest or not. Additionally, Song Ji Hyo's side has confirmed that she will be present for the shooting and will "work hard during the 25th filming until the end." Sources: [1][2][3][4][5 - for the English translation of Song Ji Hyo's comment] Soompi translation: Eek, well, I know Christmas isn't celebrated by everyone in SK, but that sucks that the the cast and crew still have to work that day. I know the attendance of the awards was also up in the air after the controversy, but there's some kind of irony in the RM team still having to film that day. =X

It's making the most bank for them overseas. Plus, almost their entire variety department is in shambles with how they have a deficit in their budget and how quite a few of their best PDs have left. I think Law of the Jungle and K-Pop Star are the only typical variety shows doing well in the ratings department for them, but neither is as successful as Running Man when it comes to international fame.

So an update, I just found out that there may be some misinformation going around since a new translation of Myuk PD's post has been shared. Prior to finding rmchinesetranslation's initial translation of a Chinese translation, a Korean friend of a friend of mine said that Myuk PD's post mentioned that he was leaving, but I'm confused now considering this new translation: Sources: RMChinesetranslation@IG and Jumie_si@IG So until further confirmation, which I will provide if I find out anything, maybe it should be taken with a grain of salt. Apologies ahead of time for the confusion by posting these so soon.

Seems Myuk PD is unfortunately leaving again. =/ In his latest IG post here, he shared the news (along with an image seemingly confirming that KS's betrayer-ways have been noted the past several episodes) that he is departing from Running Man once again and is preparing to take on new projects. The junior PDs will once again be in charge of the show starting with the episode filmed this past Tuesday (to be aired in 2 Sundays). English translation provided by Rmchinesetranslation on Instagram: With this week's upcoming episode parody of 'Train to Busan' as a final stop, I will not be continuing as a Running Man PD anymore. With this finality, I will be preparing new plans. To the members who desired for new locations(?), the backstage crew who put in all their efforts, the fans and public who showed passionate support and also skepticism and worry for RM's future, I am sorry for not being able to produce fresh and new concepts this time. However, I hope that in such a difficult situation, everyone can continue to give even more support and encouragement to the rest of us who are leading this program to greater heights. In this difficult situation, the always-hardworking members and producer team who always brought joy to us - I wish everyone can continue to support them and show care for them. I do have a lot of memories and regrets. Such a great show, it cannot just fall like this! We have to continue running on forever (7012!!), it must continue like this, only like this. I love everyone, thank you everyone! running man forever. Baah, I know I'm going to miss Myuk PD (and likely SJH's screentime as well >.>) after these past 10 episodes. I do wonder though if his departure actually is because of new projects or because of decisions from the higher-ups due to the lack of significant improvement in the ratings. I'm also worried about how the junior PDs will handle the show again since I sometimes got a vibe of a lack of consistency (and enjoyment), as if the 3 PDs were taking turns in heading the eps.

It was just announced that Taek PD is leaving "Running Man" and joining "Hurry Up, Brother." The Dubai eps were his last. Myuk PD will also temporarily return and be in charge while the show searches for a new head PD. Click here to view the Tweet Soompi's translation of the article: Fan favorite variety show “Running Man†will be seeing a change in producers starting in March. On February 25, producer Im Hyung Taek told OSEN that he will be joining the production staff of the Chinese version of “Running Man,†which is set to begin filming its fourth season on March 1. Im Hyung Taek said, “It was recently decided that the Dubai special episode would be my last in Korea. From the next episode onward, the supervising producer will be Kim Joo Hyung, and other young producers who are familiar with the show will likely be handling it.†Im Hyung Taek added, “The exchange between China and Korea has been going on for some time now, so [it was decided that] Kim Joo Hyung will be taking over.†The Chinese version of the show wrapped up its third season on January 15. Meanwhile, Im Hyung Taek has been with “Running Man†since its inception in 2010.

Looks like Dong Wan FD (now PD) is leaving Running Man. Based on this picture, it seems the Dubai episodes will probably be his last on the show. Meep, meep :(

It unfortunately seems like he's brought it up several times in his recent interviews (most of which haven't been translated) because of how proud he is of how he apparently was directly involved in the concept and of how the ep received more praise than criticism. Here's the translation of one of the first interviews in which he had mentioned it, though this time did actually make sense since he was directly asked about it. http://www.soompi.com/2015/12/20/running-man-pd-explains-his-reasoning-behind-the-zombie-special/

Slightly random topic, but in case anyone's interested, Jihyo and Haha had some cute interactions during the latest fanmeet. It's great to see how far the Hahyo siblings have come since the early episodes of Running Man. (The fan-uploaded YouTube/IG links have been posted for convenience, in addition to the original videos, so that the videos can be embedded) Haha helping Jihyo with Kwang Soo's slapping punishment...and it sort of backfiring Original Source (slightly longer/higher quality): SongJiHyoTW Facebook Click here to view the Tweet Haha and Jihyo rocking out during one of the performances Original Source (slightly longer): o0Oè»’è»’O0o on Weibo http://instagram.com/p/BBIj-bPMHGW/

Yeah, that thought crossed my mind the other day as well, but I'm not sure who or what will be considered to indicate that people are tired of it these days since there's a bit of a delay in the current production team's responses (with the exception of controversies). Additionally, I'm far from the biggest fan of these segments, but I've been assuming it's the show's attempt to draw back in its domestic viewers. It makes sense in one way, especially considering the current variety show trend of focusing on/involving the public; but that kind of format is limiting the opportunities (and screentime) for the cast to interact by themselves, and in my opinion, that actually makes these consecutive attempts counterproductive since the show's popularity derived heavily from the viewers' reactions to the cast's chemistry. It's even more disadvantageous that the cast is usually split up in some way during those missions, and while that probably satisfies the quantitative aspect of the show reaching out to SK viewers, wouldn't it be a better idea to expose the public to the whole cast being together (and interacting, as in not just playing the same game on two different sides) since that's far more enticing? There should still be opportunities for the cast to interact in smaller groups when gathered since, in theory, it's easy for just one person/a few interactions to be focused on by the rest of the members, but that usually is due to circumstances set by the writers/PD or the editing afterwards rather than because of the characteristics of the cast's natural/unrestrained interactions. Considering all of that, and nothing (publicly) indicating that the format is a game changer for the show's ratings/popularity, I honestly don't understand why they've decided that this is a good theme to focus on for so many consecutive episodes (unless there is some kind of mysterious test audience providing overwhelmingly positive feedback or something along those lines? O.O). It also seems like in addition to the street/public-focused missions, there have been far more episodes that have focused or incorporated segments about food. Food related episodes were expected every once in a while in past episode cycles, or more frequently given as a reward at the end of a mission, but recent episodes tend to devote more screentime to discussion of the food, actions directly involving the food, or visuals of the food itself. I can acknowledge a focus on food (in different ways, like mokbangs or cooking demonstrations) also being a current variety trend, but I can't shake off the feeling that its prominent presence these days has more to do with it being personally preferred by a PD or writer on the show. Either way, I never imagined that food could compete against certain members and/or their banter for screentime, but that seems to have been the case in quite a few episodes from this past year. =X I even ended up being (pleasantly) surprised while recently watching episode 148 since, despite how it had been one of those cyclic episodes dedicated to food, the missions seemed far more "Running Man"-like and there were plenty of opportunities to see the teams properly interact, even though the teams had been separated, to a certain extent, in order to do the missions. Best of all, during footage of the food being displayed or the members sitting around and eating, not once did I end up thinking, "Oh, you know what? They could have cut that short/omitted it completely and aired more footage of the members talking or playing during the missions."

Jihyo definitely looked gorgeous and it was nice to see the RM guys acknowledge that to the point that a few were completely speechless (even if it had just been due to her outfit/the difference from her usual appearance and not specifically how pretty she looked). I also was entertained by Kwang Soo's reaction to Jihyo's outfit, and then especially Jihyo's (and the announcer's) comments in response to KS's reaction.

To add on to that: there's this one impromptu moment of scripting that sticks out in my mind whenever I think of the show's scripted moments. It's not related to the progress of the game, but it definitely was suggested (and carried out) because it would be seen by the audience as something entertaining, especially since it also went along with the persona of the cast member. Anyway, the moment in question took place in episode 215, when everyone had been gathered to depart for the next location; it's just a moment where there's a bit of chit chat between the cast and the seated Shin Minah and Gary. Then around 24:18, you can see a female PD approach an aloof Kwang Soo, who is just standing in the back of the group, but then after the PD finishes talking to him, Kwang Soo steps forward to open the car door to join SM and Gary for the ride and the reaction from KG causes a bit of banter there. It's not uncommon for PDs to make suggestions like that, but that and other similar suggestions definitely are still scripted moments (with this particular one being caught on camera) despite the lack of a physical script and how impromptu they may be.

Agreed, though I also wouldn't have any problem with (and in fact would love) the idea of them being on the same team, possibly with Park Ye Jin too since her appearance would complete this cited trifecta: In my opinion, it would also be completely fitting if for such an episode, in either the preview or the episode itself, they somehow use the version of with Britney Spears, Beyonce, and Pink.

I'm still experiencing the problem, but you can get around it by deleting the "-[engsub]-running-man-ep.245" in the URL and just leaving the number. Also, regarding your previous post, there was likely no preview the Sunday before because the latest episode had only been filmed last Monday (though I don't understand why they couldn't have at least put up a title screen like they did for 227). It could be considered a filler episode in the way that the upcoming episode, which had been filmed the week before the filming of 245, will promote a film that will be coming out next week.
