  1. Well for you it's nothing but for Twice members and to all JYP artists it's a pleasure to be w/ their boss especially when u have a good boss like JYP. JYP is a well known man and a veteran so there's nothing wrong if he promotes his new girl group. I always grab chances to take pictures w/ my bosses whenever there's an occasion so stop complaining and try to be an employee for you to understand.

Lmao.., was sixteen and skool looks not enough, besides I've been a JYPE fan for almost 9 years now and i gotta tell you that he always does that whenever his artists become extremely popular. He has to be featured in all of their works, even when they win awards (like 2pm). I don't mean it in a negative way but it's their time now ..so how about some space..eh

  2. sorry not only jiyoung's fault but my fault too lol

I wrote this ↓ the other day.

In addition, last year, seeing these articles, some Jiyoung fans and KARA fans were getting really mad and saying like "Let's protect Jiyoung from "Anti-Japan Korea"!!!"

I mean, actually, the amount of the hates Jiyoung (and KARA) gets may be much bigger in Japan than in Korea. Anti-Korean Racists' ugly comments against Jiyoung (and KARA) are everywhere.

What is ugly and stupid is not something like "Korea""Koreans""Japan""Japanese" but individuals who post those comments wherever they are. It's dangerous to generalize ugly parts that easily stand out in the eyes of outsiders.

In Japan, many people really think that most Korean people hate everything about Japan and Japanese. In Japan, "anti-Korea" is basically like "hating everything about Korea and Korean". So, the mind-set of many Japanese is like "Korea is "anti-Japan" country → Korean people hate everything about Japan and Japanese".

In June, Fuji TV broadcast 2 hour special program on Korea during prime time. This program explained "Why Korean people hate Japan." I saw this. A totally stupid program. For example, a celebrity in the program said like "(They hate Japan.) Why do Koreans such as KPOP come to Japan? (They shouldn't come)". No one in the program denied this. A typical example of inability to distinguish things.

At least, Japanese people should be able to know the difference between "anti-Japan""anti-Japanese" and "anti-the Empire of Japan""anti-those who justify the first half of 20th century of the Empire of Japan". But not only right wings but even mainstream medias and society don't understand these differences and keep finding everything "anti-Japan". I think this is one of the most serious diseases of Today's Japan.

KPOP fans in Japan know much more about Korea and Korean people, but still, a lot of KPOP fans seem to be under the influence of these "anti-Japan" concept confusion.

Meanwhile, a little good or a less worse thing is that because anti-Korean racists are too noisy, those who are not racists tend to avoid criticizing Koreans like Jiyoung and KPOP.

I mean, for example, AKB48 are the ones that get the most hates in Japanese internet. It seems,  everyone, from right wings to left wings, every kind of people, not only criticize but hate AKB48.

But, it's wrong to say "AKB48 is not popular" (obviously one of the biggest money makers). Even though they get the biggest hates, those haters are still small minorities compared to the general public. This doesn't mean the public like them either. The biggest portion of the public is just indifferent to them (and others such as idols in general, KPOP, and Jiyoung). "Indifference" is always the biggest opinion when it comes to entertainment except rare occasion. Jiyoung to Korean public may be the same. I think most Korean people are just indifferent, and if they happen to see her in media or hear she is doing actor in Japan or asked about it, they would say "Oh, that's good. Fighting. Good luck", then just forget about her. Normal and natural reaction.

Although the amount of the hates is like this, analyzing the influence of the hates is another thing and difficult. It seems that stupid internet comments tend to be paid more attention to and taken more seriously in Korea than in Japan. This may be a problem for Jiyoung in fact (contradicting what I said above).  (Hara said a few times that she read all the comments. I strongly think she shouldn't. But she is an established professional and it's her business. So, my opinion is nothing.)

However, even though people tend to ignore stupid internet comments in Japan and these hates don't have instant impacts,  these hates may still have gradual influence and slowly affect the society. Contemporary Anti-Korean racism in Japan started in internet, grew for like 10-20 years, slowly affected the main society, and now the society is full of Anti-Korean racism like I said before and extreme right wing political people including the current Prime Minister are in power.

Gomenasai senpai, but I don't think we should exaggerate like that!! It's the internet, yea sure I like to see positive comments too, but those anti whatever shit comments are baseless,I bet those netizens will ask for her autograph when they see her..kkkkk...

  3. YES JIYOUNG DATE!!

Some of them are from blogs but obviously the rumors spread through SNS and twitter is the most used.

Oh btw an extra (the same one that said that Jing might be singing the KOR ending song) wrote that she was really happy to see Jiyoung and she was like an angel etc, and from beginning to end Jiyoung was chatting with Suda with a smile.

I remember how Yamada was saying that it was really hard to approach her and even the director said that he noticed how suda and yamada tried really hard to get a chance to talk to her but with no avail.

    Here's the clip: https://twitter.com/angellycf/status/584414469494857728

So all in all I'm happy that they got to talk to her and she has somewhat a social life lol.

Just curious, where did you get this info from..?? I mean when did yamada say that jiyoung was unapproachable??
  4. Everything is pointing out that she will be active in Korea too though but at the same time as in Japan. Japan is her base now and I like that. K-dramas might not be popular in Japan but SEA, China and others are interested in K-dramas more than J-dramas. I was actually thinking about Kiko when I wrote that lol but unlike Kiko, Jiyoung knows Korean. Jiyoung's spectrum is bigger in acting field.

When did Miura say he liked Kara? First time hearing this haha. He is handsome

Yea, it's obvious she'll promote in korea too but I don't think it'll be now. She needs to achieve something in japan first then advance outside.

And there's a video of haruma chan with other amuse artists singing kara's mister on stage back in the days and he mentioned he was a fan of korea and kara in some documentary with sato takeru..besides Offtopic again: haruma chan's ideal girl is a girl with a fair skin (I believe he said untanned)and a long black hair and also cute...

  5. It's a good thing we have native Japanese speaker among us haha. Thank you for the corrections!

It is true that Jiyoung is getting "gorioshied" by some degree and people might get ticked off by that.

I actually want her to participate in some indie movies, not only she could practice different emotions and personalities she also would have more variety of roles to play. But this is the way Sweet Power wants to promote her.

I have this strong feeling that they are just preparing her for international advancement. From the very beginning she was telling that her dream is to be known in Asia and later perhaps in Hollywood. She posted in IG on her 7th debut anniversary that she will come back to Korea with a better image etc. Considering AssClass and now Tamiou are shown in Korea, directors and producers in Korea might be really interested in Jiyoung. Korean movies and dramas are really a hot trend in Asia so I'm thinking Sweet Power wants a piece of that (which is totally okay).

And looking a bit further in the future if she has a successful movie or a drama (either in Japan or Korea) and becomes popular with a big following, movies and dramas no matter in which language will be given more attention across Asia. This is something that both Jiyoung and Sweet Power can gain of and of course Japanese and Korean entertainment industries.

Jiyoung is the first and right now the only actress that can have activities in both countries, and that fact alone gives a lot of potential for greatness.

Their popular actresses like Kuroki Meisa, Horikita Maki and Kiritani Mirei are somewhat successful but only in Japan. Maki was really popular beyond Japan with Hana Kimi but that was ages ago.

To be honest when they announced that Jiyoung was joining S.P., she was the only one I knew and Meisa because she is the wife of a Kat-tun member.  Sweet Power is a business company at the end of the day. Jiyoung is their good shot to actually have an "international" actress.

As a fan I'm curious what direction she will go, I mean it is pretty exciting that she debuted at 14 with basic talent and have been improving since then. And when they debuted in Japan, she (along with Nicole) had the least Japanese proficiency but here she is now acting as a Japanese. Her career is inspiring in that sense that by not giving up you can achieve things that you have never imagined.

Long post but I'm glad that there is a discussion in this thread and not just basically I and Zhiyann updating pictures and info lol.

Am I the only one who doesn't want her to promote in korea, not in the meantime atleast, besides I don't think k dramas are a trend in japan anymore. I thought sweet power wanted to pull a mizuhara kiko(she's also a korean/american actress in japan who's really popular) with jiyoung career, I mean they're not making her learn English just to go to korea now. I think she'll go there later on, like years later when her popularity dies down in japan, until then she'll be based in japan.

Offtopic: I seriously want jing to act with miura haruma chan,he was a fan of kara too
