My music teacher at school today though thought that tempo is the most important thing in singing. It was a chill discussion though, he was thinking of it performance-wise like how you don't have to be a great vocalist to enjoy singing while I still made my point about health being the top priority because I told a friend to breath with her diaphragm (she was really airy and had a very light voice naturally otherwise I keep my mouth shut).   I was just wondering though, how bad is being nasal, health-wise? Since I never got to develop my technique enough (I've read lots of theory plus all the analysis on KVA +reread) and got TMJ and other problems (lax ligaments, one shoulder really irritates me with constant movement causing bad neck posture). So I try to place my voice in my mask, but since I don't lift my palate enough it's all nasal. The throatiness comes in on long lines when I don't have enough a pause to readjust my posture to breathe. E4 is like my limit though because I do risk opening my mouth too wide on higher notes.   Should I just stop singing for a few months until this problem completely heals? I could be contributing to bad muscle memory here even I can still manage.

Lol if I have to sing in English with ease the whole songs just falls victim to the British accent. Japanese is easy, Korean is something I have to look up to pronounce. I just hate how the nasality comes back on words that start with m or n =_= I don't sing much nowadays due to my TMJD :'") caused by naturally lax ligaments that also effect the left side of my body (the shoulder was just insufferable when trying to use the diaphragm). :rlytearpls:   On the brighter side I only hum songs low in range so I though I can barely manage support in my better range (tenor) I can go to Bb2s now with some A2s that aren't so forced/vocally fried. :smile:  (Also gained attained a soprano C but meh who cares about falsetto in today's cruel world OTL) xD   PS: The Mr. Mr. collab was pretty fun, but I was not getting into the feeling of the song. Let me be brief: the 3 Octave Range part of KVA in the side menus makes me want to headbang (it's not something on my desk I can line up in symmetry). Why not make it Vocal Ranges 3 Octaves so it falls below vocal ranges or use a roman numeral. ==

      This is very random and on the spur of the moment but you can also grade vocalists based on their supported ranges. Like the criteria for Excellent is nearly 2 Octaves 4 notes and above which can be 100%, which is 20 notes which means supporting 1 note is 5%... and you can copy a school's grading system so with approximation that Park Bom and Kim Sohyang are F and A* students respectively (I don't mean to bash anyone here let's be clear);   32.5% Park Bom 45% Taeyang 50% MAX Changmin 55% Hero Jaejoong 60% BoA (I'm only using mixed ranges since I should be studying but am doing this post anyway so to make it quick) 70% Lee Hong-ki   (Percentages vary, some for the negative since I just averaged shit so vocalists who support a note/semitone higher had their % down by 2.5 rather than go up...why am I doing this I don't even take math I'm sorry to all the mathematicians of the world)   anD SO ON you get it, but since vocalists with same supported ranges can be classified into different tiers this scale also requires negative marking to subtract their percentages like Jaejoong is throaty hence his supported range wouldn't reflect his true skill, Woohyun has a small range but uses it pretty decently. Things like Dynamics and Agility should also definitely be a plus so to make 2 oct 4 note = 100% wouldn't be wise (why I am stating this like anyone give a shite about what I say LOL) and of course, an A should be lower like around 85% up while A* is for an excellent vocalist. A and B grades should have a * variant as it we had vocalists that land between tiers, and it would be hard to go and simply give a very low grade to a vocalist (C+ for effort? ^^) meh my mind is too stuffed with chemistry for this at the moment.   Basically everyone goes to highschool, Kyuhyun and Ailee are the head boy and head girl, Naul is the cool senior already accepted into a college already like I wish I was and SoHyang is the valedictorian. And Jaejoong seduces teachers for grades   EDIT: Please don't take this so seriously I'll go do my homework now

People actually bloody called Kyuhyun a bass, a fricking bass and then said though he is a 'bass' he can reach high notes and linked, of all the fanfrickingtastic videos of him singing MASQUERADE showcasing his although-bass-capable-of-high-notes ability.    What the actual fudge.
