[enter-talk] WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THIS YEAR'S ROOKIE OF THE YEAR?
ethereal replied to Trashie's topic in Netizen Nation
the way they think ab6ix would win it over txt like txt didn't beat ab6ix for roty at an award show already... lol. the scandal surrounding x1 is definitely going to hurt them anyway imo. but we'll see.- 37 replies

all kpop releases have blended together for me since like 2012. 2012 is truly the last year where i can hear certain songs and distinctly remember that song came out in 2012.
-
bh owns company politics now tho. bts fans fill all of these award show venues, bts increases the ratings of these shows, and bts actually has the numbers to win all 3. thats how i see it. i wouldnt be surprised if twice walked away with a daesang but times have changed. jype would never boycott mama when stray kids is still growing anyway so not giving twice a daesang won't change anything imo.
-
txt obviously has a smaller core fandom than x1? its inevitable? but acting like x1's digitals are so much better just bc they were one chart position ahead of txt for a literal hour is just weird. txt already rose on melon again dsjkvbkjzv

are we supposed to threatened by some zombie streaming? lol

AOTY, SOTY, ALOTY - bts
-
what about jin? he also doesn't really sing through his nose, his range is just on the higher end of the spectrum and can be a little squeaky. thats not nasally.
-
ARMYs, if AKMU will win SOTY, will you accept it?
ethereal replied to The Hoe Wears Prada's topic in Random
but i mean, wasn't it released a little late to have actually surpassed bwl? afaik bwl still has more streams and probably downloads bc its been out for longer. so in the end at most shows if we go by numbers only bwl would still deserve to win. if melon wants to give it akmu so be it but most other shows prob wouldn't imo. -
yes its been a rule for a while now. it was a rule before the stuff with the gay thread...
-
tbh i do think that the fact that the thread rules are so strict is why this site started loosing users even before the huge hiatus. threads being closed bc other people start fighting and derailing them should have never been a thing. also the whole "twitter drama" thing is weird bc twitter drama is almost always just fandom wide drama now or drama that stems from fandom wide issues. its far too limiting.

its weird how people in this thread are acting like what the op is saying is far fetched. wasn't it just YESTERDAY that military exemption for idols got brought back up again in kmedia using bts as a shield like it wasn't sm and friends that were in a meeting about it however many months ago. they clearly want taeyong and mark exempt and likely taemin too. and even beyond super m, sm is always about their future business plans. any change in exemption laws is a win for them and their comrades.

what makes you think super m made them a single cent lol. they spent a ton on the the mv and promotion, but their album sales are grossly sub par and inflated by bundles, many of which involved sale of cheap concert tickets and cheap merch. u.s tours are very expensive for kpop acts and super m hasn't sold out a single show afaik. where is the profit coming from? thats all i'm saying.

but none of this changes the fact that they should have just...idk, tried to promote normally and organically? super m likely did not make a profit. don't see how that is strengthening sm and capitol's relationship when the press is negative and sm is already trying to throw capitol under the bus

y'all keep saying this but i've legitimately seen barely anyone coming for the members? the brunt of the negative opinions has been focused on sm since day 1. and also lets not act like some of the super m members haven't said stuff in interviews that didn't deserve to be side eyed. taeyong went on about them being the gods of kpop, how could that not rub people the wrong way.

this whole thing is so embarrassing just like we said it would be. the whole strategy is getting the negative press it deserves. fans don't want to admit it looks bad but it just does. what is the value of a chart position that represents nothing but how many fans bought tickets and cheap ass merch? its not a "win". its something they did so they could generate positive mediaplay but its backfiring and most of the reactions to them are negative. we all knew this would happen. its not even about the members, its about how terrible sm is being. and i can't imagine any of the members getting a decent paycheck for this. who won?

the blame game in all of this is honestly such a mess. no single group of actors in this whole thing should have the entirety of the blame pushed on them. bc it was so much more than just one thing. the hate comments, the show she was clearly damn near forced to be on, sm's lack of awareness or care for what their idols feel. it was all of that. it was the system that let that girl debut so young, that let her get just about groomed by that choiza dude who pretty much caused her initial public "spiral" and subsequent bashing. there are so many issues that need to be reformed, fixed, and eliminated, so future idols don't have to feel like this and end up like this. but just pushing around blame isn't going to make anything change.
-
oh you should def still check it out. i just heard some people who are fans of the manhwa source material don't like the show bc it changed smtg major early on and for me the whole "scary/creepy" ambiance got lost after a few eps bc it felt like things that could have been big reveals got revealed rlly quickly. but i wouldn't say its a bad show. just not enough for me personally.

i rlly wanted to like strangers from hell because its siwan's comeback drama but something about it didn't pull me in the way i wanted it to. i might go back and finish it one day but idk.

[Knet]X1 fans’ mocking hashtag on BTS Jimin’s birthday
ethereal replied to Trashie's topic in Netizen Nation
lol key word "trying". and that hashtag is directed @ exols ?? its not even a baekhyun hate hashtag. and if it was rlly a majority of armys the hashtag would have trended number one no problem. but here other fandoms are, successfully banding together to trend hateful sht with thousands of tweets and your first response is to try to say "well you guys did it too11!!11" yall are gross- 50 replies

one thing about this that doesn't make sense to me is why they're responding to dms of alleged "fans" in the first place? just block them and go?? people working at this shop legit started this whole thing by leaking pictures of jk from within the shop. do they not know kpop fan culture? did they not realize what they were bringing upon themselves by moving like this in the first place? god

NCT’s Mark Underage Drinking In USA
ethereal replied to My Everything's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
literally bc of drunk driving fatalities. statistics used to show a high population of drunk drivers were around the age of 18. y'all are so quick to criticize laws without understanding that there's a reason for them...- 53 replies
