  1. manufactured has such a negative connotation. i don't know why people would think its anything less than an insult, even if it rings some truth. it has deep roots in the stereotype that all idols/koreans are plastic. something being highly produced doesn't mean it has to be fake, which is what manufactured insinuates.

  2. as a religious person myself, most religious people are homophobic by design. the more progressive ones will claim they respect gay people but they don't respect the "lifestyle". that is inherently homophobic because its not a choice to be gay and they still treat it like it is.

You forget jyp and sm diversify. They have actors and different businesses under them, to ensure they always have high cash flow. Bighit only has stock in entertainment.  Bts is king now but that will evaporate quickly as we knowhow entertainment goes  trends change and something else gets popular. But what doesn't change? Healthcare or transportation etc so big companies like sm often buy into businesses like that because its always in demand and the  price for is always stable

this is...not true. bh has so many different branches of contents under bts. the bt21 collab with line friends, multiple mobile games, a drama in the works. they have their hands in multiple baskets these days, most of it is just tied to bts. but there is plenty of crossover potential. many people don't even know bts designed those line characters, bh's merchandising potential is through the roof.

its presumptuous af to say bts will evaporate quickly. i don't think they'll be as big as they are now forever, but that doesn't mean they'll disappear off the face of the earth. they'll be bringing in cash from greatest hit tours and reunion tours for years to come and idt bh has any intention of losing them.

"but YG only had BB and 2NE1"

That might be true but 2NE1 were Killer Rookies and the public loved them and they were digital monsters.

Meanwhile TxT is selling physicals because Army want to support BTS' little brother group. The general public don't give a shit about them.

I do not call that a successful group.

Either way, YG doesn't deserve to be called Big3 because they're way too incompetent to promote their artists. Instead of pushing BP to the top right after DDDD they put them into the dungeon for almost a year. They could have saved that shit ass company like Twice saved JYP but noooooo, let's just ignore the money makers and focus on dicks. I freaking hate YG so much and would love to see them disappear. Luckily their Artists are leaving by one. Let's hope BB don't renew either. And then we can bid the company goodbye 👋

this is simply not true. a sizable portion of txt's growing fandom is theirs and theirs alone.  and its hypocritical to say this like 2ne1's ENTIRE claim to fame when they debuted wasn't the fact that they were marketed as the female big bang... their debut song was literally a collab with big bang. regardless of your definition of success, txt is still the most successful existing 2019 rookie bg and they're already on a level playing field with the likes of stray kids so. only 2020 will tell how much potential for the future they rlly hold.

I wouldnt count Gfriend. Technically they are under BH, but Source is still their company. Its similar situation why Lovelyz got hate after saying they are SM too (at the time when Woollim was basically owned by SM). But TxT is doing well for a rookie. So their new gen seems to be promising.

the bottom line is gfriend makes money for bh now. no one is trying to say they're in bh. we're saying they contribute to bh's status as a large company and their income.

lmao this. Since BH bought Source Music, Gfriend is technically a Big Hit artist too (even if they're managed still by Source Music). And the new girl group debuting in 2021 is VERY anticipated. I wouldn't be surprised if they pulled an ITZY and debuted with a smash hit song because unlike TxT, they're a girl group and they're usually much more checked out by the public.

Also idg people saying the Big3 is an established brand already. Long time ago DSP media WAS considered Big3 too until YG replaced them. Things change.

its just crazy bc people forget yg was considered big 3 when all they had was big bang and 2ne1. how is bh different when bts is bringing in far more money than bb was back then, and txt is holding their own with album sales if nothing else.

things change indeed. korea is trying to move on yet its kpop dweebs across the ocean that are stuck in the past 😔

  7. people swear its still 2017/18. no, bh does not only have bts. they have bts, txt, source music with gfriend underneath them and another gg in the works with source. they have bts related brands and projects that will not just go up in flames while bts is in the military. yall are crazy if you think bh doesn't have the potential to remain a top dog. jype and sm have all these groups and do not come close to bh's revenue. sm is in the negatives half the time. what does that tell you.

the way yall still dare to call txt organic succes while coming for literally every group that comes from a big 3 agency bc of their seniors is truly amazing, best of luck with ur organic success lmao

its crazy to me that even after x1's disbandment you still have time to run around throwing low blows at txt. was this karma not enough for you? you can claim that that particular user started it, but y'all were always the start of it with the way you came for txt. all i can say is that the first thing i thought when i saw you in this thread was everyone will get what they deserve in the end.

"Live Happy life as humans first before Artists". Is that why BTS had cameras around them during their first proper holiday 🙄

i always see random non-armys say this, but can yall at least get your facts straight if you're going to stalk bts' every move fore "tea"? they all made like literal 10 minute personal vlogs of in most cases a single day of their month long vacation. self filmed, self edited, and NOT some company production that they were forced against their will to do. just know you look dumb for saying this in a thread about something serious.

  10. this is funny though, bc i often see a lot of negative reactions towards older women dating far younger men? but anyway, you cannot erase the fact that predatory behavior from men on younger women is normalized by society at large. thats why it gets more outspoken reactions particularly from women.

also in the case of super junior members leeteuk and heechul, they have a PATTERN of aligning themselves with younger women that dates back all the way to when they were in their 20s being interested in actual young teens. it is not the same as what you are insinuating here.

  11. its weird that many people don't want to admit that heechul is creepy when it comes to younger idols or that his relationship with momo is creepy. at the end of the day, we don't know his intentions, but momo was 18/19 when she debuted. heechul was a "fan" of her before they met and became friends and now they're dating.  this is the same pattern he had with sohee as op mentioned and he's in the cycle again with itzy who are also rlly young (minus the dating)....there's also a power dynamic of him being an industry sunbaenim of many years to momo that is also mildly concerning. the whole thing is just weird. people love to pretend like he's some saint among the suju men but there's smtg off about all of them.  momo is an adult that can make her own decisions, but i just hope everyone stays safe out here. there are plenty of wolves in sheep's clothing among us.

yes, your favs have had comebacks that are "total failures". they have failed to chart on melon, they have failed to win a music show against other relevant acts, they have failed to sell more than their previous album despite all of the version and photocards. kpop stans treat flop like a derogatory term when it is 9/10 a factual statement. we call groups, even our favs, nugus all the time without any malice. are nugu and flop not in a similar vein? an unknown group likely isn't doing well. having less than 100k album sales is not enough to pay everyone's bills.

    That doesn't mean it wasn't a success.

Certain cities did better but it wasn't promoted properly at all and it was more good than bad, first arena tour was just fine because promotions were there but this time and this year JYPE said fuck it.

Their tours weren't never empty where it should be downsized, it was just fine even if not sold out.

Not even their upcoming Thailand concert wasn't promoted but it still sold out and the second day will soon be sold out.

o..k? i still think 17 is more popular internationally.

So wait, he didn't say anything racist about them? Just that preteens like them??? Like I'm sure a good fractions of the fans are. Being on here lets me know I'm in the minority in my age and liking kpop.

did you actually listen to the clip of what was said or? his entire statement was racist, homophobic, misogynistic, and everything in between.

  15. this is so manipulative...especially towards chaeyeon. she probably feels like its her fault, but its not. what these thirty year old men were doing to a 15 year old girl was not okay. inappropriate comments, physical violence, she's a CHILD. how was that ok? the fact that he thinks he did nothing wrong is a mess. he shouldn't have raised his hand against someone else's child like that period.
