honestly its obvious mnet is trying to shift the target generation of this show by doing pretty much strictly 3rd gen groups plus exo who are on the cusp. even the fact that lee dongwook is mc when all the previous mcs were stars from the early 2000s. they're trying to hit that 4th genish sweet spot

eunsang possibly doing a bts song and i need you at that? maybe i stan forever. honestly boomerang is a bad choice.... people aren't mad about the "repetitive" part. they're mad at y'all saying produce should promo nugu groups when they have no obligation to do that. if nugu groups want promotion they need to come on the show. also, no offence, but when half the survival shows out side of produce tank like mix9, under19, the unit, idol school, these songs aren't repetitive to people who didn't even waste their time on it. and i'd say blame yg's bad relationship for lack of winner and ikon which could have added more variety.

i don't rlly get what your point is because this is expected? 1) its pre-show 2) no1 has gone viral and gotten this season a lot of attention 3) produce 101's popularity is obviously on a downward trend if pd48 says anything. but in the end izone is still doing well so. 4) wanna one just disbanded and the members are all doing things so their individual fanbases are still sticking with them for now.

this is somewhat of a misconception? as we're witnessing now, each season takes a hot minute to really kick off popularity wise. viral individuals, viral moments, all of that is the only thing keeping this series alive. look at the aftermath. people outside of like top 20 each season completely disappear off the face of the earth for the most part. i think you're underestimating the value of them doing old hits. the purpose of the show is to get the trainees known, not to do charity for other unpopular groups.

honestly speaking tho, the big 3 trainees hardly have any hype tho? so i don't see how they have much more of an advantage than anyone else. well know companies in general will always have the advantage so i don't see the need to single out the big three. mahiro and jyunhao from yg literally will have nothing if they don't debut here. yg's not going to debut another bg after treasure 13 for like 5 more years. and the jype dude too. i think they deserve just as much of a chance as anyone.

gaeun clearly didn't have a big fandom tho. when it came to one pick she just wasn't a lot of people's first choice. i could smell that from the first ep. did mnet do her dirty by not giving her great screentime? of course. but there were shadier things in the pd48 final lineup than her and wonyoung. also i think the korean voters were the ones against the japanese girls mostly. mnet gave many of the japanese girls favorable edits.
