with the length of the eps they could theoretically air all of the performances besides maybe 2 or 4

uhhh views are pretty important too tho they can be inflated for multiple reasons. but the most viewed trainees are almost always the most liked trainees anyway.

idk about company voting per se. bc even looking at top 10 the only company that has multiple people in there is starship. and jungmo is already on his way out as it is. people who rlly don't have a fandom will be the first to fall.

yeah honestly the fault falls on both of the companies for sending so many people. i get that the thought process is the more we send, the more there is a chance that one of them will make it. but its just obvious that mnet isn't going to focus on all of them. then the narrative would be "mnet is so starship/woolim biased!!1!!11"

suhwan rlly is not bad looking. he has his charm. and i think he will definitely shine in the group battle bc he's in a team with not a lot of particularly popular people besides yuvin and bnm jungwhan. he could definitely get a good edit there since he seems nice. i don't see how this is true tbh. eunsang's into vid is one of the most viewed ones, like top 5. his fandom has been moving in silence since the beginning. his jima fancam has top 5 most likes and is top 10 in views (now that seobin is out of the picture). the stats don't lie. he is definitely top 10 in popularity overall. while i agree its hard to call him a lock in at this moment in time, i don't see him plummeting out of top 10 any time soon. he ended up in the nct popular trainee cluster fck. there's going to be a lot of screentime to be had there tho the focus might not fully be on him. he's a good kid tho so i don't see him getting bad edits in his foreseeable future at the least.

honestly as long as mingyu and yohan don't start coming off badly in the group performances they are set

i like hyungjun but this is not happening lol. mingyu and yohan are too strong. he's gonna have to get through some other people that might not fall too. like dongpyo and eunsang are prob solid in 3-6 somewhere so if hyungjun rises that much i also see him somewhere in 3-6

well, yg is considered an "elite" big3 company. of course the trainers would expect more from them than they got js. not like yg and mnet have a good relationship anyway.

i'm not saying you HAVE to do something to get a good edit, i'm just saying people who don't get edits probably didn't do anything mnet could construct into a neat little dramatic story like they want to. even with mingyu being a visual pick, they set that up to juxtapose with his "lack" of talent that sent him to X. that much of his screen time was set up from the begining bc filming for the audition stuff all happened in 1 day so they already knew what they were going to do on that front. as for eunsang Click here to view the Tweet is any further explanation needed? both him and hyungjun are a kind of shy cute imo. like, they don't have very out there personalities, its just natural.

its always funny to me how people jump straight to "mnet has it out for this trainee!11!!" when there's a lack of screentime without ever thinking maybe that trainee didn't do anything all that noteworthy. the trainees that were highlighted throughout the preparing for jima section of the episode all did something, whether it was struggling and working harder to improve or helping the entire class ect. obviously not every trainee did something that stood out enough to be highlighted in the episode. not everyone got told tf off like yunseong or hyugjun, not eveyone did awesome like hyunbin. as much as i agree that mnet obviously has people they like more than others and want to succeed, not every lack of screentime is some calculated move to ruin someones hype. junho got popular for literally nothing but his looks at first. all they're doing is continuing the show like they would have if he had never gotten that popular. eunsang, hyungjun, dongpyo, and jinwoo are all "cute picks" and they'll likely all make it so there's not a need for a "token" one. not really like they're all competing for the same spot

well i'm pretty sure almost avengers tag is because its another team of rlly popular guys. not surprising they don't have particularly good reviews when most of them are low ranked.

honestly this visual discussion is so.... visuals are objective anyway, but in terms of what koreans like and "korean standards", this season has more visuals. thats just a fact. as some people mentioned s2 had more "unique" visuals, a larger variety of types.

the first two seasons didn't really fully pop off until the first performance challenge. thats what rlly brings in the viewers, good performances of popular songs. and kfans continued their mock boycott of pd48 until the bitter end so its not surprising that pdx is on a steeper trajectory. no offence to s2 but the visuals this season are overall better. there are more text book, korean standard visuals and a lot of charming guys too. it only takes a few trending trainees to make the show blow up.

where was the evil edit? minseo's edit was actually good? getting sent to X for a dumb mistake actually reflects worse on the trainers than on him... and yunseong also got a decent edit. again, the trainer getting upset with him reflected worse on the trainer than on him. because he actually sounded good and just lacked confidence. not like he had an attitude problem. and i hate to be that person but the other woolim boys are kinda just boring at this point. their audition wasn't even that great. anyway i'm sure they will have more chances to shine in the first group battle because thats when underdogs truly get their chance. so.

But he had no screentime in ep 2 so

I suspect dohyun and sunho(?) the older one are going to drop out of the top next week.

hyungjun actually got a decent edit in ep 1. of course the part where starship boys screwed up wasn't that great but i don't think that will be enough to make him drop out of top 11 tbh. he was just nervous tbh.
