i was thinking this too. after his jima cam i started to dislike mingyu a bit but seeing him in the show made me like him a lot more than i even did initially. he def has something charming and endearing about him. and even though he's not that good he works hard. thats why i don't get arguments about "more talented trainees deserve his spot more". they all work hard. i'm tired being bitter about "untalented" people being successful on this show. people who have IT factor will shine regardless and making it in the entertainment industry is so much more than "talent". we all know that.

sohye was dragged to hell and back loll. people rlly hated her until yeonjung made the final group and became the new target. and minju and hyewon only rose at the very end so there was no time to drag them for being "untalented" bc they had already grown throughout the show. anyway, mingyu is solid. the people hating on him were never his fans to begin with so i don't understand why you think his votes will change that much? like, you could tell from his jima cam that he was stiff and had bad facial expressions and that stopped no one. like.

is OH finally back for good? lol anyway the fancams were pretty interesting. can't say any of the perfs as a whole rlly impressed me this season. i think mnet overdid it with the vocal processing. it made a lot of people sound weird. super happy to see eunsang getting hyped up tho even tho he literally had 1.5 lines. i also have a feeling seungyeon will enter top 10, at least after the votes reset.

debatable. love shot team obvi has better vocalists, but boss is not a vocal song. the people in dongpyo's team all have better overall charisma on stage imo (besides maybe junho i can't judge him yet). the only person on loveshot they can't beat is seungyeon but he's way more experienced so. we'll see who really won after boss airs.

but its just like, that is some people's only opportunity to get some sort of screentime so its disappointing when they only focus on 1 person for 3 minutes and then move on. on top of that just knowing mnet has days worth of footage from each team and shows so little....i hate that they all go through so much just for nothing to be shown. idk. i get that mnet can't show everything but the thing tht pissed me off the most this episode is that they spent so much time on the re-evals and focused majorly on people we essentially already knew the new grades of. they kept re-showing clips and trying to make it suspenseful. they could have cut so much of that out to show us more of the performance prep.

i def think they use autotune mics. you can even hear the slight autotune pitchiness at points. they've had it in other seasons too. i'm also sure they do some post production editing.

fandoms that move in silence are always the ones that get results. i'm reminded of daehwi in s2. he never rlly had a particularly vocal fandom and even received quite a lot of criticism to the point where people speculated he would fall. but in the end he never even dropped out of top 11. eunsang's fandom seems to be in a similar vein. he gets the views and the likes on naver that put him at least top 10 popularity wise even though his fans aren't very active on the communities.

tbh i think at this point yohan, mingyu, eunsang, and hyungjun are making it. they all seem to have good personalities too so i don't expect any bad, greedy, ect edits to come from them.

maybe an unpopular opinion but love shot was not as good of a performance as i expected it to be from the rave reviews. they all sounded good except the rapping from that c9 guy was slightly off. but they were not rlly that in sync ? idk. still a decent perf but my expectations were raised since it was apparently the best perf along with boss....and they were not met

It was super weird to me how mnet gave the exo teams such little screen time. They showed all kinds of stuff going wrong in those teams in the teaser and literally nothing in the episode. The sabotage has begun. Also hyunbin is going to rise. Armys are going to eat him up for being the only one to know and be enthusiastic about performing nmd. And he's cute and talented. That was a good edit imo bc the other trainees were the ones being a mess. Should have just let hyunbin be leader too. He hard carried the team.

my thing is just, what is there to "get" when it comes to people being popular? fans simply find things in them that they like. its as simple as that. i don't think its just this thread... my OH notifs haven't been working all day and last time this happened a month or two ago all threads were a mess with that refresh thing

if not having a "good" rapper make the group means we won't have to suffer through every song of the final group having an awkward, kpop rap, then i'm fine.

i see a lot of people bringing up hyungjun in comparison to dongpyo and i just don't get it. like, them both being "cute" is about the only thing they have in common when it comes to their images. dongpyo is far more outgoing and has more presence on stage and off than hyungjun. hyungjun is shy and quietish and struggles a lot. i just think they're different enough to both have independent fandoms. their images rlly dont overlap that much to me. idk

just want to mention that he didn't actually mention popularity in the teaser itself, tho i'm sure we can all assume thats part of the reason he picked who he did. but he specifically said "visuals" and people who seemed like the "center of attention". so just throwing that out there that he had more on his mind than ONLY popularity. sometime a day or two after ep 3. prob the monday/tuesday after.

they release individual cams of all the performances, even the ones that don't air, before the voting closes to make up for that. tho some people are beyond saving at this point.

i'm still skeptical of this "seobin was proven not guilty" thing.... why would he let himself get kicked out like that then. idols exposed for illegal underaged activities have moved on from it previously. i find it hard to believe he wouldn't have defended himself if it rlly wasnt true. or that jype would have kicked him out JUST for drinking and smoking.
