Pretty sure Zixuan is Ella's favorite.
Almost without a doubt. After the show ended, the only contestant she followed on weibo is Zixuan.

Zixuan updated her weibo
https://onehallyu.com/topic/694088-li-zixuan-little-bean-updates-her-weibo-post-p101/
Positive as always, also cheers for Rocket Girls
Ella left a comment, so did Meiyun, Aojuan, and several other P101 girls, Yuhong, Yanxi, Xueying

Also can someone make a Li Zixuan Thread? I will follow the shit out of it
Considering, not good at layout design type stuff tho. But if some people are interested in one I might.

Aojuan said she was 17 on the show.
If she didn't say a date, you can be '00 or '01 and be 17 right now though

Only two replies though, so I'm surprised appeared on weibo lol. They're comparing their Tencent Doki fans (if you vote for anyone using the Tencent app you automatically become a fan). Fan growth is usually proportional to vote growth since either new viewers are coming in to vote or hardcore fans are buying cards/more VIP accounts and voting with those accounts. These numbers don't account for vote growth from cards though, which would probably account for more change in voting in the last hour than actual voting. Also the number of Doki fans doesn't always accurately represent popularity because the numbers (like almost all the others) can be bought as well.
Still, taking into account everything, Douzi at least really should have been in the final rankings if Tencent wasn't being shady (whether it's because they couldn't get the right contract signed with Douzi's company or for some other reason) Don't know if Renyu or Mengjie would have won head on if the numbers were correct though, since Mengjie experienced a surge of popularity in the last week after being pretty high on the most searched list twice, once for hugging Yibo (there was one really popular gifset that got reblogged outside of just the 101 fandom) and once for having a tattoo.
Ahh got it, was gonna say those numbers don't make sense in the context of the announced vote totals. But otherwise the relative amounts looked believable.
I would guess Renyu, but I do agree I've seen a surge in support for Mengjie, and I was surprised by the amount they raised during the final crowdfunding battle. Mengjie also got good screentime ep 9, Renyu not as much.

I think they recently changed rules so that you can't be on outdoors tv variety shows if you're younger than 18. Shows like PD101 that air on the web don't count. If anything she says is true though, what affected Renyu and Douzi not being able to debut the most was probably because their companies weren't willing to sign their rights away to Tencent for the next two years, since there's not really a huge need for a girl's group to go on a ton of outdoors shows. Although I guess it's also possible that China could eventually prevent 16-18 year olds from appearing on indoors shows as well and Tencent wanted to avoid that possibility entirely.
For Quizi, she defended her she was being trashed badly awhile ago. Said she was actually a nice girl and that she really does have a lot of casual fans when a lot of people were jeering her for having a position way too high compared to her numbers everywhere other than the official rankings. She also said that she has some powerful/influential fans, whatever that may mean. The time she came out to defend her ended up netting her more trashing as one of the chosen though...
Qiuzi- that's more or less what I was able to piece together seeing it referenced in other threads.
So she called Qiuzi a chosen one, or people interpreted her defending as she considers Qiuzi a chosen one?Nvm, re-read and got itAlso, lol welcome to the thread/forum. I find it funny you are joining after the final ep aired
I saw the screenshot of Douzi's real ranking too. I doubt her real intention to release those controversy info at this sensible time.Trying to understand, so you think the votes were played with but that the fault lies with Tencent being shady and not that the individual companies decided not to join? You guys that frequent douban more/familiar with the trusted insiders. Did you see this/what's your take?

Looked for the thread, believe it's been deleted.

Claimed she was one of the chosen ones after the cut-in scandal in fanmert and she got cyberbullied in the end.
And Aojuan was born in 2001.
Chaoyue ranks the first again.
Someone raised the point of 2001, she insisted 2000. Tried to dig without finding much. The google doc in OP of this thread lists it as 2000, apparently chinese wiki says 2001, I don't know what the sources are..
I didn't catch that thread, but just heard that she got mad from it. Can't read for myself and make my own judgements.
Don't intend to argue how reliable this source is, I've already acknowledged the post could be iffy. You've already acknowledged she's an actual insider.

Age limit - If true, why don't they enforce the rule at the very beginning. And the insider yesterday said the Renyu was supposed to debut by their plots. Her claim about Qiuzi in previous leaking was proven wrong. My feeling is that she was trying to distract people's attention from Tencent manipulating the voting numbers, which is on the most searched hashtag list now.
And this.

Did you see the video Xuanyi slamed herself last night.
Her age doesn't affect her ability to be shown on P101 so why block her from the show.
What did she say about Qiuzi?
Yeah, can see it's trending right now, He Sui heartbreak for Douzi #2, Renyu vote mistake #4. Saw leaks of actual vote counts during the live airing on weibo, on douban this insider said actual rank Zixuan is around 6-7, Renyu was within top 11.

If the OACA part is true, not a fan. The other two OACA girls got eliminated too early to have gathered much steam. I feel like their best move would have been to have Zixuan be in Rocket Girls first. Even better, if Zixuan got in, they could probably have sent whoever else they were planning on putting in the group to IP3 to gain more exposure.
That would be stupid on OACA's part, because at least in IP, people loved seeing OACA members together. They already have such a strong family dynamic where Qin Fen is the dad, Han Mubo is the mom and they have to raise 3 rowdy kids. The other two girls were eliminated too early on and other than a few moments during that elimination, Tencent did nothing to show their group dynamic. Idol Producer basically made it possible for so many of the groups who didn't end up in the Nine Percent lineup to thrive, whereas in this case, they're screwed.
Have Zixuan debut, rope in the money from all the gigs, and use it to fund a better gg debut. And yeah, in the meantime have Qiuyun Junyi go on IP3..
That leaker is a real insider but she had tried whitewash the role of Tencent on this whole mess before. I will take her info with a pinch of salt. What do you mean by the bolded? Could you explain what happened? In that thread, someone commented that on Yitian's company/CEO's weibo they posted “说好ä¸å‡ºé“†which loosely translates to agreed (past tense) to not debut. Another person said they saw it as well. I haven't seen any caps yet tho. -
S2 is going to be another boy version (not sure why specifically), and it's supposed to happen in Q1 of next year. S3 is supposed to be the girls version and it's happening in Q3 of next year. Assuming that nothing about the dates get changed.
Thanks. Ugh this male favoritism, have to wait even longer..
https://www.douban.com/group/topic/119209136/
Take this as you will..
The famous insider account just posted "Actually...you guys are sad, but some CEOs are secretly happy about not getting in"
Someone asked what's the reason Renyu didn't debut, she said "she's too young, tv opportunities are limited, radio and tv are limited to children appropriate programs" also in a later comment said "etm will also likely debut a group, basically it's the ent companies not letting go their hold on the girls"
Someone asked about Zixuan and she said "OACA is debuting their own group, that's it."
Context, this is the account that always posts accurate detailed spoilers, she's someone on staff.
In my opinion, she does work for Tencent after all, it's possible she's just pacifying the fans and could be purposefully making this up. Would be the first time she's sharing untrue info though.
Interesting to note, no veiled attempt to stand by the vote count accuracy, straight up explaining reasons outside of vote numbers that affected their rankings.
If true, I think it's a maddening move on OACA's part. Although it's true that of IOI examples, post group permanent groups have yet to really take off. But to sacrifice Zixuan's success/popularity/income potential for the group to do better as a whole, and seeing her upset expression, hit too hard and seems unfair in the moment. And given Zixuan's attitude and the desperation of Qiuyun and Junyi cheering and rooting for Zixuan's debut, it seems fishy unless OACA didn't let them in on this plan.
Also, if true, then goodbye to Zixuan on IP3.
Oh, she also said these 2 yrs the girls will probably have a rough time, they're now money making tools, will be crazy busy.
Qiuzi indeed is hated a lot online. Just take a look at her ep9 part where she cries, she must have seen comments. More or less people interpret her loud and open personality as fake and impolite, really probably just a veiled excuse because they hate her visuals and body type.

I am pretty upset about Zixuan not making it either. I hope she tries again for the iQiyi one, IP S3, I guess it would be called. :/ I don't know if you watched IP, but if she goes on the girl season, she'll probably get a decent edit + time to shine. Hopefully she can hold on until then.
S3? Are they planning S2 to be another boy version? Any info on the timeline?

How freaking bitter this feeling in my heart right now... the ad that Zixuan's fans won for her via fanvoting on the side of a Shanghai skyscraper is up now..

It says Li Zixuan
Face towards Douzi Li Zixuan
In Doubao's [her fans] hearts you're the sweetest
Beautycam
Let me take a step back and try to express my feelings right now to also make myself feel better..
First of all, Mengjie was someone I was casually rooting for as well, she's friendly with Zixuan and they get along well. Felt for her parents' restaurant story and wanted her to succeed. I personally don't really get Meiyun's appeal, but she is very very very close with Zixuan and is likely among some of the most devastated contestants about Zixuan's elimination. The contestants handpicked by Tencent, I like the girls and appreciate them, so I can't bring any hate on to them, however it is so frustrating to see the unfairness. None of my anger or frustration is directed to a contestant, it's not like they have anything to do with it. At the end of the day they're all girls who are doing their best to make a name for themselves and earn a living.
Zixuan's placement in the group has been rocky but achievable since the beginning. As reasonably as you could estimate and gauge numbers, Zixuan had the best shot at that 11th place, so this is why people are so shocked and upset. If you watched on the Tencent app, Zixuan's name was constantly streaming across on the comments and when they were at 11th it was more or less all cheering for Zixuan. Black and white terms, based on fanbase size alone, Zixuan is stronger. This is something measurable and factual, it's not something swayed by my bias. When a contestant with the 7th or so largest fanbase of the show doesn't make the final lineup, it's not surprising there will be a lot of angry and upset people.
The other 2 factors that come in to play then are the casual viewer vote and Tencent's agenda. Casual viewer vote, Zixuan should be okay. She has decent amount of screen time with a character that can draw some casual fans in. Tencent's agenda is to create the most commotion and make the most money. Based on the aspect of making the most money, I felt it elevated Zixuan's chances given her fans can cough up the most amount of money (of potential 11th placers).
The point that really really really at the bottom of it all has built me up to be this pissed and sad about the situation is how Tencent has drawn out the drama with her placement. Well, first, there was the whole MV center debacle in the beginning that poured insane amount of hate to Zixuan before she could build any appreciable fandom. Vast majority of everyone's first impression was not favorable due to the mv. Then I really cannot wrap my head around the roller coaster of Zixuan's ranking and believe Tencent absolutely had a hand in artificially creating the variability. The question then, why manipulate, what are they trying to do, what's their end game. Really the uncertainty and the excitement 1 brings in more money 2 would build a story line with the payoff being her making it into the group. Non-fans and even haters thought for sure Zixuan had a "story line" or a "script" she was the "逆风翻盘“ comeback story that is part of Tencent's tagline for the show. Additionally, the way she was built up in the show, the edits, her screentime, interview segments really seemed to lend to this story line too. Towards the final few episodes, even as a Zixuan stan, I realized her screentime noticeably increased. It really didn't make sense why they plan these things if not to help build this story arc.
And in the end she didn't make it, so really why did Tencent drag Zixuan and her fans through that drama unnecessarily? If the only reason is that she has a decent sized fanbase that they can squeeze money out of, then why not allow her a debut spot and you can continue squeezing money out of her fans? Tencent's methods are absolutely despicable, but at the root of it they are a company who's aim is to maxamize their profits just like any other company. Their decisions should follow this logic at the end of the day. They can play with numbers and rankings as much as they want, at the end of the day they will want to make the most money, so they should more or less be debuting the contestants who can bring in the most amount of money.
Finally, really I just feel terrible thinking about how Zixuan must feel. I'm very proud she kept her tears in for the finale so well, but on the flip side, how much is she suffering on the inside but forcing herself not to show it.. 5th time getting cut from debut lineup, it's understandable why she has a lack in confidence and doesn't think highly of herself. Yanbin mentor told her, 'where are you not good enough, your singing is good, dancing is good, skills are good, you're nothing like an ugly duckling that you called yourself. No one can point out an area that you're deficient in.' If you've failed five times now, wouldn't you be reflecting on where you aren't good enough, what it is that's holding you back from making the cut? She returned to being a backup dancer 3 days after winning championship on the Girls Fighting show. Upon joining P101, she heard comments like, 'you won a championship, failed to debut and returned to being a backup dancer. you just have the fate of a dancer.‘ She invested a lot into chasing this dream and has nothing to show for it yet. It's been a running theme in the show, if you work hard and are talented, you will be noticed. Tbh it's some bs, but that moment of cold truth hitting is terrible. The only way to be able to continue on this path is if you hold on to that philosophy. With the lack of a gg scene in China, her future doesn't look good. Debut with OACA? People were saying how weak and poor her company is, they couldn't even save Qiuyun and Junyi from first elims, couldn't pull much weight to help Zixuan make debut. So how much money and resources do they have to produce a quality group that can be successful? Solo is out of the question, she's not solo material and said herself she wouldn't want to do solo promotions. Go back to being a backup dancer? Honestly so far the biggest possibility given her history. I hope she keeps trying and keeps working hard, and keeps her confidence. Maybe join iqiyi's female version, I swore off these competition shows after the results came out, but I will watch the iqiyi version if Zixuan decides to join.
Sorry for the essay/rant, skip if you want or if it'll make you upset

73mil was the first number tho...So they messed up the vote count from 10-13....Anyway. Tencent has made an announcement:
"Liu Renyu's actual vote count was 65,456,076 and not the reflected 73,853,280"
Okay, whatever you say.

Had no idea this was ending today, was a pretty fun show and all but I just could not make it though all the 3 hour long episodes, it was just too much. Not that surprised at the final lineup outside of Mengjie. While I saw Zixuan as a potential candiadate, I don't get why people are so surprised she didn't make it, she hadn't ranked in the top 11 for a while now. Also did the MV really have a center? Didn't it just heavily feature a number of the more popular girls?
Anyways I'll be following the group, it's a dumb name, but I'm down to stan Chaoyue, Ziting, and the WJSN girls.
She's always been one of the top contestants and her ranking outside of 11 has not made sense for some time now. Even though she "barely fought" her way back to top 22, Zixuan's chances of making the group were very high because her fan amount and fundraised amount are all very competitive. That's why people are making an issue over Mengjie getting the final spot.

Cards are really minus cards depending on the contestant ie Zixuan and Renyu.
