...and a lunar new year's greeting.
they are so cute -
TL;DR my face gets greasy really easily without me even touching it. I think that is what causing my acne but I'm not entirely sure. Recommend me some products please thanks!
If you're still taking product recs, I think I know something you could try! My friend has very similar-sounding skin (and skin problems) as you, and this works really well for them:

Freeman Mint & Lemon Clay Mask
According to my friend, it leaves skin very smooth and soft while controlling oil, and is a great deep pore cleanser. They also said it helped clear breakouts. I unfortunately can't give you a first-hand opinion on it because I'm very dry and therefore haven't used it for myself, but I've tried other masks from this brand and I can vouch for the brand's quality and deliverance of promises. I don't know if you're interested in face masks, but if you are, I'd recommend giving it a try! I know they sell at Ulta for around $3-$4, so it's not a huge investment just in case it doesn't work.

They've been looking so happy lately
I'm so eager for their comeback -
Shu uemura if you want to get a feel of the brushes in store before you buy (assuming that you live close to one). Wayne Goss' brush collection available on beautylish are also made in Japan. It's $210 for a set of really good quality brushes. There's also hakuhodo and chikuhodo.
Japanese brushes are handmade. I don't recall reading any negative reviews on them, at all.I do remember seeing reviews about Shu Uemura and Wayne Goss, now that I think about it. I'll have to check some of those brands out. Thanks for the recs!

I'm going to butt in on the conversation and say… Sigma still sucks. Japanese brushes are the best.
I've never tried any foreign brushes, actually. Any specific brand recommendations?

They look so good!! I am so ready for them to own this comeback

Communications because (hopefully) large variety of job opportunities

My ultimate bias Subin's birthday was 2 days ago I can't believe I forgot to write something on here about it

-
Thanks. I think i'll just try to buy the essential brushes and just buy brushes as I go.
That's probably the best method of brush buying anyway. Hope you find some you like!

A lot of new lipsticks have come/are coming out so probably a lot of lip colors, and hopefully a new sweater or two if I ever actually feel like going to the mall

I don't remember the numbers because I gave them away to my sisters, but it was a big fluffy powder brush, a dupe for MAC 217 (fluffy eyeshadow brush) and a blush brush. They were decent brushes, but I was expecting more because of the huge hype. The powder brush didn't feel as soft after a few washes, and the dupe for MAC 217 wasn't as good as the MAC one. So even though I liked them overall, I never felt like buying more of them.
To be fair, I actually bought these when Sigma was just a baby brand and they only had a few brushes to offer, they might as well have got better.
I heard Sigmas start to get rough after a few washes! It's a shame given how popular they are. I'm assuming the quality has gotten better since people keep buying them, but I still probably won't be trying them any time soon. That much money for such questionable quality just doesn't seem worth it to me. MAC is also expensive, but at least with them, you know you're paying for quality

Another huge TAHITI fan here
Really love them and am super excited for a comeback! -
I think BESTie have their own kind of style, that's why I fell in love with their music in the first place. It's kind of different and refreshing. Hopefully they can get a song that fits their style but have a big impact on the charts at the same time.

Same! To me, BESTie seems very detached from the standard "girl group" image/theme/sound, in a good way, and that's what draws me to them. I'm hoping their next comeback is reflective of that style

Most of my eye brushes are MAC (nothing beats 239 and 217, I have two of each), but for face, I use Real Techniques too. I honestly love them more than some more expensive face brushes I've got, so I just reach for them every day. Though I find they're not as long lasting as other brands. I can see them lasting 4-5 years maximum, even with the utmost care. Considering their price tag though, and their multi-purpose function, they're more than worth it.
ETA: Certainly not crazy about Sigma - I bought three brushes once and wasn't impressed enough to explore them more.
Which Sigmas did you try? I'm curious to try some (probably solely because of the brand, tbh) but I'm hesitant to because of how mixed the reviews are

I haven't heard good things about Sigma brushes from brush afficionados but I'm not the gal for that, I invest in my brushes. Mainly because I don't have a lot. I think I have 9. Hakuhodo, Real Techniques, Eco Tools and Chikuhodo. My goal is to have only Chikuhodo , Real Techniques and Hakuhodo. I'm going about it slowly.
The Real technique's one I have is one brush (Expert face brush) and I want a similar one. It's such a multi purpose brush. I use it for mineral but it can be used for liquid, blush, cream contour, etc.
Real Techniques is my absolute favorite brush brand. I haven't found a brand that can beat it's quality for me, and the fact that I can find them at all beauty stores/drugstores around me make it unbeatable

This drama is commanding all of my attention right now. I find both Do Hyun and Ri Jin very likable and easy to watch, and the drama balances dark themes and comedy very well within an interesting plot. I'm really glad I decided to start watching this. It has yet to disappoint me
-
Boysitter and The New World. Both Taiwanese, both pretty good. They're on totally different ends of the spectrum though. Boysitter is so comedic and light-hearted while The New World is kinda serious and heavy. I'll probably keep watching them both until the end unless they really start to disappoint me
-
Me too.. I believe the brush is what makes a makeup look beautiful.
A good brush can make even the lousiest of makeup look good. It's understandable why brushes are so much, but it's still a shame for my wallet :'(
-
I'm excited for this. I'm Seolhyun-biased so there is probably some favoritism in this, but I think she'll do fine.
I never understood the issue with using singers as actors. Putting a well-known name in your show brings more watchers, and more watchers bring more money, and at the end of the day, that's what drama makers are after. People act like it's a crime against humanity to have an idol as the lead.

I wish I could buy sigma brushes, but they're expensive.
I feel the same way. IMO brushes are the things most worthwhile to splurge on and yet I still can't convince myself to actually spend a lot on brushes
-
What do you guys think of morphe brushes? Are their makeup and brushes worth it?
I haven't tried every brush type so I can't comment on all of them but I have a kabuki and a foundation brush from morphe and I think they're ok. They're both really soft, which is really great, but I did notice the foundation brush would shed a fair amount of hairs for me, especially when I washed it. Some reviews claim they're smelly (like chemicals) but mine were not. When I eventually do buy new brushes, I'm not sure whether I'll repurchase morphe or not, but for the time being I like them enough. The price helps A LOT with me liking them, though
-
I adore DS! I'm really anxious/excited for this comeback. IMO they're the group in need of a comeback the most... it's been so long since BBB (which was phenomenal) and they deserve to hit the music scene even stronger and harder this time around!
