"Kpop idols can't say anything about BLM because they'll get in trouble"
Evanescence replied to YooJeong's topic in Random
I'm hoping my groups stand up. I wouldn't even mind if it turns out they donated privately. I just hope they mention about what's happening. -

It's mainly on some of the bigger and smaller twitter accounts and a few other social media sites. Don't think I'm saying that Bts and Bighit don't mention the producers because I know they do.I also know that Armys praise the producers when talking to each other. However, many of them don't mention the producers when talking to people outside of the fandom. Even though I listen to some of their songs I'm not an Army, so I don't question them when they talk about who produces which song. I take their word for it because I have my own fandom that I'm in and I also listen to other groups. Plus I have things that I do outside of Kpop. I don't have time to check and verify to see if what they're saying is true. I trust that they know their group well enough to give accurate statements about their group when talking to people outside of their fandom. All I'm saying is that there's more to this than just people never being satisfied. Of course there are haters who make things worse and they won't find any apology good enough, but this situation got out of hand when Armys came up with theories and presented them like they were facts. Anyone who challenged it were either antis, unintelligent, or a fake stans who needed to leave the fandom. Several Army accounts said that it was best to wait, but the many of them didn't listen and some even tried to dox those that spoke out. They didn't mention that another producer could've been responsible. Even an Army in one of the threads here stated that Suga didn't care and that he meant to use that audio and that everyone just lacked critical thinking skills. That's not a good look at all. Even after Bighit has made their statement, some of these big accounts are still pushing their theory narrative. So, it's no wonder that people outside of the fandom may question Bighit's apology. I believe Bighit gives their artists more freedom and that's a good thing. However, this just adds to reasons why people are questioning why he didn't say anything himself. Like I said, I'm satisfied with the statement, but I can understand why some people are still leery. I hope this didn't come off as a rant.

I knew about this, but I had to find out about it on my own. I believe a lot of this misunderstanding on whether or not Suga needs to personally apologize comes from what Armys have been telling everyone outside of the fandom. It wasn't until early this year that I knew about Adora, Slow Rabbit, and Pdogg etc... Armys are always telling us that BTS writes and produces all of their songs. They never mention those in house producers. They belittle and label any other artists as being manufactured and fake, while their group is "woke and socially aware". They even say that Bighit gives BTS more freedom and that other groups are jealous because of it. It doesn't help when they post clips from the members that back up their statements. People tend to take their word on it and those that challenge it, receive backlash from the fandom. So when something like this happens and Bighit apologizes while Suga remains silent, the apology comes across as fake and people question it. To us, it looks as if the producers are being thrown under the bus. It just seems disingenuous and backpedaling. With all of this being said, I would've liked Suga to address it since it's his own mixtape, but I'm glad that at least Bighit addressed it.

97liners visit to Itaewon, Boombar is suing
Evanescence replied to Denisse's topic in Netizen Nation
I'm happy to hear this. I was upset with them when I first heard about it, but now I'm ok. Does this mean they're suing Dispatch or just the ones who wrote defamatory comments? -
EXO-L enter pls and I want to talk about EXO choreographers
Evanescence replied to Drama Drama Drama's topic in Random
This is my first time hearing about this. I believe he did Monster and Sehun wasn't sidelined in that one. Did she name any particular dances? -
So true. I didn't think he had any bad intentions, but I'm happy he's more aware now. I'm just surprised at how twitter armys are responding to Bighit's statement. I thought those on twitter would say that they're sorry, but nope. They are doubling down on their position and are saying that Bighit shouldn't have apologized and that this is just a plot by antis because Bighit is going to go public. They are really showing their true colors and how they feel. They didn't care about what happened. Their only goal was to shift blame. Now that Bighit hit has even spoken out, they want to discredit them and the statement. I try to believe that there are more nice armys than cruel ones, but I'm having trouble maintaining that perspective.

Thanks. I have just had enough. This is one of the reason why I'm staying off that part of twitter. It's filled with people saying we're just too stupid to understand the complexity of it or we are just hating because our favs aren't that deep. It may have another meaning, but let Bighit say it. It's not that hard to say this was a mistake, but given that some of them knew about it since 2019 and didn't mention it to him, I'm not shocked that they're brushing it off.

Your whole post is condescending. This goes beyond kpop and for you to tell us that we have tunnel vision and lack critical thinking is insulting to say the least. You don't have to find it problematic, but to belittle those who do is wrong on so many levels.

I think they should still say something even if it's just to explain it. I just don't like how some twitter users are justifying this by saying other artists did it as well or Jim was anti Korean. Jim Jones may have been anti-Korean, but the majority of people who lost their lives in Jonestown were black people. He targeted them and led them to their deaths. Some of them were forced to drink that poison against their will. I wonder if they would take this attitude if we were talking about someone who used part of an anti semitic speech for one of their songs and a Jewish person didn't like it? I can understand if some people aren't bothered by it or view it differently, but to brush off and belittle those that do have an issue with it is problematic to me. I hope all of this just gets straightened out.
-
I still can't get over the fact that some people under that twitter account are still defending it. I don't care if every single artists used it, that doesn't make it right. They are still talking over the black people who have a problem with this by simmering this down to a fight between fandoms and kpop. They can't say what was meant by that sample since no one from Bighit has officially stated anything yet.

That thread had started getting out of control and I'm happy they recognized it. I'm not sure how big this issue is in South Korea. Do you think Bighit or the producer is going to say anything?
-
Oh ok. I knew about that. That was hilarious. I remember when Tao left and Chanyeol unfollowed him and then he turned around and unfollowed everyone else. This caused Baekhyun to unfollow him as well. I thought that was so funny.
-
If that was the case, why not use a recording of what he said about Korea? The sermon used was addressed to his congregation which were mostly black people. He even said the n word in it. That whole thread is making me upset. Instead of just admitting that he did something wrong, they are trying to give their own narrative. This is one of the things I don't like about kpop fans. It's not that hard to say my fav messed up. It doesn't take anything away from them or their favs to say that. At least wait for Bighit or Yoongi to say something about it instead of trying to tell people, especially black people how to feel about Jim Jones and this sample. @satoori I'm not aiming this at you, just that thread.
-
The messed up part of all of this was that the officer seemed to enjoy the suffering he inflicted on him. As a black person, this has me very upset. I can understand why there are riots and protests. We have had enough with being treated as second class citizens. When we speak out about injustices, we are accused of playing the race card. We are tired of it. That officer deserves to at least be charged with 2nd degree murder.

I think possession can be real, but I think this is fake.
