BLACKPINK's Whistle is honestly still one of their top 5 songs. It's a song the girls themselves had to push for which makes it even more special to me imo.
Boombayah is the perfect song next to it. Both songs did what they had to.

it sounds dated now, imo. I loved it on release too.

JYPe dropped the ball on Tzuyu (popularity wise) in my opinion. Probably due to Suzy being so disproportionately popular in her group lol

The way that being pretty is the first thing mentioned before being talented
The fact that is even mentioned at all
The 3 qualifying talents of a performer
Contrary to the popular belief that it's vocals, dance and rap.
She talk-raps Itzy style and plagiarizes Janelle Monae
Her being pretty being mentioned first makes sense, as that user was clearly giving three arguments of increasing importance? Such a weird argument

For me this is 1 of their best title track beside Dalla2x and Wannabe. I still remember people calling all of their songs as childish but this is way darker and kinda give Harley Quinn's vibe.
Kinda agree that most of the song are rap and talk, the only singing part are Lia/Chaeryoung's pre-chorus and Lia's bridge which I feel really add the impact to the whole song.
Not to forget that JYPE release this song in Friday, which is really rare for their artists that usually release new song/MV on Monday. Maybe they are trying for international market instead of Korean? I'm not sure about that but I hope for next comeback they can give a song that can attract Korean public (maybe JYP need to stay away from being the composer/lyricist)
Honestly the mafia song is truly childish. The other songs have a cute coming of age concept / empowering concept but this reminds me of a 12 year old boy thinking he’s a god on the internet.
I like their delivery and I like the girls so I’m bummed.I was really excited for it too. There isn’t a really cute moment like a shoulder dance or neck snap either. I hope their next comeback isn’t too far away so we can move along lol

What a comment. He’s just saying not to judge people vehemently when you clearly don’t know the details. Jennie was in a group with masks and was socially distanced. She travels in private things, obviously, probably has her groceries bought for her and I doubt anyone in her household is holding this job-related meeting against her.
You should self reflect for that comment. Insinuating he basically killed his grandmother by being irresponsible. Disgusting, really

To give some criticism, if he was rapping until now then it's clear he is not used to the high notes that are given to him. He is much more stable in the lower range of the song. Also not as an excuse, but he said 목 아빠 during singing, which means, "my throat hurts". So maybe he had a spar throat, could happen.
It kind of really is an excuse to be honest, while listening to it it really sounded like that. I don’t like it when an entire comment section is incredibly harsh

This is so stupid, just listen to the music u like? Why do you need generations? I feel like most fans want to set these categories just so they can say "my bias paved the way"
Cus people clearly like defining history? Let people do what they want in their free time damn lol

So because some of their people think blackface is okay, you think that South Koreans in general aren't allowed to decry racism. You don't even know whether these Knetz have done blackface or not but you're going to accuse them of having engaged in it? Also I don't think you even understand that racism towards Koreans = racism towards all Asians because other races can't even tell us apart. Why else do you think there's been an uptick in anti-Asian violence ever since the pandemic broke?
Because they’re calling out an entire country in a similar fashion. The way you entirely missed the point lmao

Having lived in many countries, including the US, racism is rampant everywhere. US simply talks about it more and there is a social stigma against it. In most countries racist and sexist remarks are normalized part of everyday conversation. Random racist comments make the news in the US and therefore internationally, but in other countries? Life just goes on.
That doesn’t justify the treatment of BTS though. It’s just a comment on the state of discussion about racism around the world.
+1
what an awkward comment by the k-netz when they’re literally still doing blackface

That’s... not an actual proof
Sorry but for all we know Soojin was a girl they liked to pick on and now they wanna bring her down (probably not the case but I’m just saying I hate concluding smth with so little real proof. Are there any pics or smth)

I love reading netizen threads, but i gotta admit i have no idea about these specific tags they always mention. SEXY-but cute-but mysterious-but innocent xD. Although i admit all of them are dreamy. I guess calling them handsome is too simple.
1 hour ago, sergel said:I don’t really know what that means but yes, they do fit it based on the pics.
It’s where someone has sex appeal while not putting themselves out there in that sense. They look cute because they look boy-ish / youngit would’ve made more sense to translate it into who’s cute and effortlessly sexy at the same time, I think

What you’re saying is true lol. These same people jumping the bandwagon are judging k-netz for cancelling T-ara back in the day.

The accusers are not doing themselves any favors. Same with Soojin and meeting up with them only to say that she doesn't remember doing anything. This whole situation has turned into an even bigger mess that could have been avoided completely.
She could’ve just said “to be quite honest, I don’t remember... I was busy during my school days, but to hear I impacted someone so harshly saddens me. No one deserves that. I’m deeply sorry, even if I don’t remember, and I will reflect.”
case closed lmao, but this is making it drag on you’re right

There's no way people are surprised that it's only a single. I lowkey hoped it was a mini when it was announced in January but I knew the chances were almost non-existent. I knew people were going to be dissapointed bc of the way y'all talked about her solo...
they said mini themselves so thats literally some shit false advertising by them

[KN] “Aespa >>>>>>> STAYC >>>>>> ITZY” Netizens think there’s basically no expectations from ITZY anymore

Boombayah / Whistle into Stay / PWF into AIIYL into DDDD? Where's the repetitiveness
BLACKPINK did what they had to do.
Most of these videos also contain different visuals that make them memorable. What Itzy truly lacks is good melodies, memorability and a k-pop staple which is clear differences between the members. They all dance with Lia being slightly worse. That's what they're all about. Their choreos should be upped a notch, because they have the talent.
Speaking of clear differences, when it comes to personality, they come across as very relatable and timid. I've watched the weekly idol episode and some miscellaneous stuff, and as much as I enjoyed them, they're honestly not that memorable. As grating as for example Rosé's forced baby talking voice is, it was needed to set them apart personality wise. Itzy really has none of that.
Tbh Lia ruins their dynamic so much, both in the performances and out of it
