hmmm I wonder if as trainees they're under a different type of contract...or none at all(?) Many trainees don't even get a contract, and open to leave when they want. However trainees who do these shows maybe they sign a contract the lenght of their activites of the PD group with their induvual companies for finacial split reasons more so... and then afterward when the PD group disbands (the lenght of the contract) they can now decided what they want to do. Perhaps there are even terms stating they don't have to be put in a group or stay with their indivual company.

It's obvious the companies are concerned about putting the members in a group..or not quite sure what to do. Also possible a few of them will release a solo then eventually transtition into a new upcoming group(?) idk. In general, as far as the kpop undusrty is concern an idol is not getting the full experince just doing solos. Being in a group is where most of the fame, money and fandom culture is at. Not everyone is going to be lucky like Chungha..(which part of her success is being one of the first from the PD franchise to go solo) However even someone like Chungha who is popular is probably not as profitable as some might think. While WJSN and Weki Meki if it wasn't for covid could have started doing small tours and growing their fandom culture. But more importantly to their companies, increasing their profits.
