  1. still, it doesn't make sense to go backwards. if anything they would use some other phrase. (for example: i can see them using "welcome generation" somewhere...) side note: bts' foundation is called "love myself". read more about the journey here https://www.love-myself.org/eng/home/
  2. that would be redundant they already had the well known "youth concept" from 2015-2017. plus i believe one of their Japanese albums was named "youth".
  3. True. Entertainers do stuff like this all the time. Align with different political parties and organizations in their country for different types of "charades". Bts being the biggest Korean act right now, it's not a surprise they're constantly being approached. In general, like you @Chimichurri I'm mainly here for the music lol and entertainment. It's not that deep. Plus, the message and program their supporting right now isn't harmful and positive overall. Side note: Bts themselves have never claimed not to support governing rules and legislation. They're not anarchist. All members vote every year like any law abiding Korean citizen. (I'm going to assume politically they lean more towards the democratic party.)
  4. I think I'm missing something...Have you read somewhere that BTS are ignoring or not directly involved with their own country issues? BTS don't always speak out directly but they have touched on different topics through out the years. Also have donating to different Korean related causes. Plus the whole no violence campaign (which relates to the increase in violence/bullying among Korean youth too..) with the UN is one of their biggest projects for years now. Yes BTS may not be as outspoken in all their songs as much,...but if one looks closely the group do try to do their part the best they can with the huge platform they have. Honestly the above is part of reason BTS are not being dragged like the Western celebs you speak of. And instead treasured and respected by the Korean public.
  5. jumping in to share this… Also watch the interview/speech to hear directly about BTS opinions. In general, it’s not just fans, words can go a long way, but also the programs that are being supported is also key here. Like any other artist, BTS are being used because they generate traffic and exposure to the audience that the UN is trying reach.
  6. This is even more funny when considering there are many male stans KKGDFHJJFSGJKL
  7. with the rise of survival shows being popular, the industry is now showcasing the training pre-debut process. and most idols do tend be pre-teens or younger when they first join a company and begin their training. still not sure how to feel about this, hmmm...
  8. yea 2019 wasn't bad. many bops. adding on
  9. adding on: blackpink and red velvet haven't really transition much. blackpink continues to their yg-esque girl crush concepts and red velvet is still doing their red and velvet dual concept. both have basically stuck to their working formulas.
  10. honestly gfriend had the best out of the popular 3rd gen girl groups, in my opinion. twice.
  11. adding on - -Gfriend disbandment *still hurts* -(sort of part of BTS) Bighit/Hybe acquisitions and partnerships (Naver, YG, Pledis, CJ etc... -T-ara bullying scandal -Hyuna/Edwan dating scandal (specially Cube kicking Edwan out -Big Bang/Seungri -Jessica kicked out of SNSD
  12. Well, Blood Sweat & Tears wasn't considered a hit by kpop fans. In reality, BST era was legendary. It would of been nice if back then people would have admitted it's success tho. Instead it took years for many kpop fans to finally accept it... (lowkey ironic and funny to see some kpop fans nowadays trying to brag about BST era... It took BTS breaking into the Western market for some people to finally accept that BTS were not just a "trend" that would fade (as so many use to call them...) Heck pre-2018, some people were still claiming groups like Infinite, Shinee, and a few others were above BTS in relations to impact/success.
  13. Some people will never admit it, but in relations to idol groups BTS is one of the biggest plot twist in Kpop. Period. No one, not even fans or BTS/Bighit themselves could have predicted their success. Even during their breakthrough years, many still had so many doubts and/or straight up against them. In Korea and internationally the amount of negativity and pessimism is astonishing. Sometimes it's surreal to think about the old topics about BTS on different Kpop forums. A huge part for this is we as a community were condition to believe that small companies groups can't overcome their struggles in the long-run, and will eventually run into some sort of problems that will stunt their growth. Plus if any group is going to be at the top it's going to be from a big popular company.

  15. Well, back in the days, many ifans were misinformed/ridiculous. Many people use to call almost everything not 2ne1-like cute or innocent FHFKGKGLDLSS
  16. i defiantly support the direction of high teen. girl crush/teen crush is meh (because in most cases it's not done well or feel forced)
