  1. Thanks for explaining OT: I wonder if some knetz think the way they do because due to enlistment rules, foreign male idols have to sort of pick to drop or keep their Korean nationallity eventually when living in Korea
  2. His American side is American and his Japanese side is Japanese right? Even if he wasn't white that wouldn't change. In general, whether black, white or etc..he's American if he's born in the US. But i guess if he wants to be specific then he can add the -Japanese. But yet African-American is an acceptable term in the US? edit: I'm genuinely confuse right now.. edit2: Kpop fans use the term Korean-American all the time too, and no one makes a big deal about it
  3. I dont know what knetz are implying with their comments but my comment was not trying to use "American" as a way to define white people tho? All I was trying to say is if someone is born in the US then they can be called an American. Are they calling him that because he looks "white"?
  4. 1. Youtube 2. OH (although for the last two months been struggle witj getting on TT, so...) 3. AO3 and Twitter 4. Weverse/Vlive 5. Netflix/Hulu (I mostly stream the app on the tv rather then pc/mobil screen) 6. Reddit (I lurk here and there) (note: I watch tik tok videos on youtube and Twitter which is why I'm not on its app)
  5. he definitely loss some baby fat on his cheecks..but also he got a nose job and did something to his eyes. he was cuter before TT
  6. His visual is basic imo. His eyes are pretty tho. So this confirms he will be in the next Bighit boy group...I assume he's a good dancer then?
  7. If him or his parents were born in the US, then it's techniquelly correct to use "American".(?) Actually the fact people always feel the need to seprate by "black" or "white" in the US can sometimes be problematic in itself. Side note: Also when overseas anyone born from the US tend to be refered to as an "American" ..and many American tourist refer to themselves as "Americans" sometimes.. But perhaps I'm missing something here?
  8. Probably pre recording some performances...or prepraing for the next streaming event idk
  9. The original purpose was not to pit groups against each other. It was/is simply to seperate different eras of music and entertainment using a numerical system. The exact same thing is done in the West. Except we say 70s, 80s, 90s, etc. With Kpop since its a relativly new music genere, kmedia started with "1st gen"... The issue nowadays (or really during any of transtion years during a decade) is kpop fans by nature the fandom culture is competitive. Like some of the comments mentioned, there are some fans so adamant for some reason to have their favs being the leaders or at the top of a new gen...and or not part of certain groups they feel are older. OT: In my opinion, one of the biggest difference with the upcoming new gen is the impact of Covid. We've already seen a huge shift in how groups are promoted. New kpop fans entering market will be use to more streaming/virtual content then ever before. There's even a shift in leading and rising companies.
  10. I was holding on to my ticket TT But now have to go through the process all over again whenever they go on tour again. I agree, i guess it was sort inevitable at this point. To much time has pass. Also the pandemic still got some ways to go before it's better globally.
  11. She could promote solo with Hybe...but yea the timing do seem strange. You're right it does not seem like Woollim would let her go that easily.
  12. Uuuhhhhh that means we have to go through the blood bath of the ticketing process all over again
  13. Agree I feel Korea is gradually waking up to her. If i remember correctly she had a huge increase in popularity. Especially among knetz. (Around time she cut her hair?)
  14. That definitely gave them exposure Yea hopefully Somu will learn from their mistakes with Gfriend. It was their first self girl group so there's room to grow
  15. You're right there will probably be some overlap So far their boy groups are doing fine. But we shall see how the GGs will do o.o
  16. Three is nothing compared to some big entertainment companies tho...even some smaller companies. You're right, the structure is similar to that of CJ, Loen/Kakao, and etc.
  17. Agree. Although I'm not as sad. I don't know..its like I've been mentally preparing for this phase of BTS for a few years now. So I'm nervous but excited to see what they have planned.
