Really not allowed to make profit on things like this. You are not allowed to conduct business with it , even for non profit cases.
But lets agree to disagree, I get you want to defend HYBE at all cost.
nah i'm not defending them. since my very first post i disagreed with the display.
yea let's agree to disagree.

You are entitled to your own opinion, I am just stating facts here. Although it difficult to say agree to disagree, I think it best to view this matter from a logical point of view and remember what you already know about diplomats.
Also, if they shut down immediately fans would know and it would definitely get out. So yeah, this is a delicate matter as the entire current government is so public with BTS. So them taking the softer approach doesn't surprise me. And bear in mind cultural differences here, if they behaved standardly like they always do ( Brutish and demanding), it would disrespectful to BTS. So yeah, again safest option.
nah the korean government could careless about fans. again, hierarchy is important.
anyways, if the government did approve of the display then i guess they will get a percentage of the proceeds...

it is called saving face. If they were ordered to shut down immediately and return the passports ASAP, it would caused an international incident. So making sure its returned within 24 hours after the notification is the safest solution for everyone. I am not sure why this is difficult to grasp. Have you ever seen passports like that showcased? There is a reason why it is not done.
nah if the korean government wanted something shutdown, then they could have easily shut down the entire display with no problems. hybe isn't above them in the hierarchy. there's no saving face here.

Satoori, I don't know what you do for work. But I studied this as part of my degree and worked in the field of risk compliance. This is really not allowed and I am almost sure HYBE didn't get approval for this. This would have been approved by the ministry of foreign departments and I am also sure they would have said no because it is a security risk.
if we are to assume the government didn't approve of display (which seems to be what most people here believes)...then i'm surprise no on is side eying the second part of the memo...which also shows the company have permission to keep the display up till the 30th.

Go to koreaboo, not a site I recommend but you can see inside of JK passport. And again it is really not allowed to showcase an ID like that, definitely a diplomatic one. There is a reason why those passports are kept in secure locks within a government facility. And the reason why there is a confusion on whether they are allowed to have it fulltime or not, had to do whit what is known standard procedures for diplomats. However, the place they keep it in is on diplomatic grounds, so they are allowed to have it when overseas. When they return to their country and are not of official capacity and don't live in a diplomatic house, they return the documents ASAP.
I highly doubt they had permission for this. And you would be surprised how stupid some companies can get when it comes to forms of ID. Again just for clarification, this is not allowed from any government.
yes, they showed inside two passports. the content revealed wasn't anything relevant. it was some basic intro and outro wording.
tbh i'm neutral about the entire situation.
and until more concrete information is released (probably never) all we can do is make assumptions.
edit: also something else to notice, they're still allowed to display the passports. if the government was so against it then...?

Just want to add this, as I actually do know this.
Documents that are property of the government are not allowed to be shown to the public like that ( in case of duplicates or counterfeit), so they probably thought it was okay as it was shown on official UN channels. But there are pictures of inside the passports and with the right camera you can see the optical features in the passports. This is a big no no what they did and a security issue.
They definitely be sideyed by the government for a while. This was a stupid thing.
i doubt bighit would risk their own artists security. the passports were closed in a glassed box. nothing crucial was showcased.
the display was apparently suppose to be from sept 29-oct 4.
edit: honestly i wouldn't be surprise part of the reason the display was taken down is due to fans. i saw quite a few fans didn't approve of the display in the museum. the company is usually quick to take action.

yikes
tho bighit do tend to get approval before doing certain things. especially something like this. so i wouldn't be surprise if this was case here too. the passports were displayed in a museum.
also although many of us assumed the passport would be long-term, there was no confirmation. for all we know it was a one time event. or case by case.

the show itself was not popular. far from it.
people go on about natty, but if the show was actually popular she probably would not have been ranked high

US concert tours potentially would be even better than Japan concerts, as the stadiums in the US are massive and the population is >300 million.
true
tho i'm already seeing other fans from other parts of world planning to fly in...on top of that competition between outer state fans (including myself from texas)...it's going to be another blood bath..TT

Without tours I think big companies are using the MC platform to show their visuals
I think if covid never been forced companies to cancel tours maybe a lot of the big companies kids should've been in world tours not MCing.
yep this too.
basically groups are eagerly trying to find activities and stay seen, since covid has basically halted so much growth.
opinion: covid has proven that in-person fandom interaction is a major part of the kpop industry

Wonyoung's name will carry this. Did the guy got it because he's the same agency as Soobin? Just like how Music Core used to go just for idols from SM?
It seems too soon for Arin and Soobin to step down. They were so fun to watch, specially Soobin interacting with seniors.
Well, Enhypen is one of the most popular rookie boy groups. Similar if not bigger(?) then TXT rookie year fandom. If Soobin was accepted then Sunghoon shouldn't be an issue either.
Anyways, I also think it's early for Soobin and Arin to leave. At the same time, giving other rookies a chance isn't necessarily a bad thing either.
