It's so hard to say if she should do it again, the fan in me wants her to do more variety, MCing and DJ work but I wouldn't want her to if she wasn't happy doing them. It's sometimes hard to read between the lines because on one hand she has to say what SM's writers want her to say to maintain her "SNSD character" and on the other you catch glimpses of the real Taeyeon. It could be just a phase after all she is only 25 (chronologically) and SNSD has been ~10 years of her life. I think someone said she should go out clubbing more with Hyoyeon and meet people/guys.... I'm so against that idea it's not funny but something totally different, but similar, might help her out Happy 700th!! After the things she said on HC today, it feels like she needs SNSD mostly because all of her closest friends are there, so I don't get people who say that kinda crap like she doesn't care, when have her actions been selfish? I can't think of a single worthwhile moment to back up those statements. The way I see her predicament is that if she smiles and acts bubbly then I want it to be mostly genuine. It's ok if a few times it's faked because that's necessary sometimes. The problem is public perception because if she acts like her true self and she is introvert and she is mostly unhappy, then the public will say she has a "bitch face" all the time and that isn't congruent with her SNSD persona. it works for Jessica because she is the "ice queen", but it'll be a bad move for Taeyeon. So I think that's what she means when she talks of freedom, the public want a certain attitude from Taeyeon and she is struggling to constantly provide the Taeyeon they want.

I don't know what to think... I know Taeyeon has the whole #emoTaeng label and no doubt all of this will reinforce it further. To me, it seems like she has invested a lot of herself into SNSD, they are her closest friends, they are her source of income and also her competition at times. With so much invested in something it's only natural to worry about it all the time especially if she doesn't have much of a back up plan outside of the group... It's probably a good idea for her to do a few more outside projects like she used to do and get to know more people outside of Soshi, not to replace them but to give her more confidence if something eventually does happen and she has to rely on herself more...
