i think that's an exaggerated thing to say that you need to be castrated to achieve a pure head voice, i know many people irl who have done it and they aren't castrated . Iv'e never heard this claim until i saw this thread so if she didn't use head voice i'm guessing its head mix, but it doesn't sound like it all ,head mix should have a minimum of pharyngeal resonance to it. sure it wasn't pure all the time but its not like their was no head Since I'm not classically trained we might be using different terms for different things
