I swear every time I decide not to be a solo stan and then this shit comes to my attention activating my solo stan energy   Why do I have to like members who have rumours of being mistreated.

Since that twitter user wondered how someone could not believe in Eunhae, I'm gonna offer my perspective. No one can deny that these two are tight and love each other a lot. But they've been that way for over 12 years now, consistently maintaining a good relationship. I'll admit I don't follow them extremely closely, but I've never seen any bigger changes in the way they have interacted with each other over the years. And what about the period during which Eunhyuk dated IU? Shippers certainly believed even back then as well that Eunhae was real and them bam, IU accidentally posts that picture on twitter. Where was Donghae during all that, and how was he feeling about the situation? Eunhae is also a huge company promoted ship, they even have their own sub unit as a result, so playing up the lovey-dovey side of their relationship is to their financial benefit, even more so than with other idols. And I am not so sure that most companies would be willing to promote a real couple as a ship like that to begin with, it's practically a scandal just waiting to happen, therefore too risky from the management's perspective.

 

I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm just saying that it's kinda a huge coincidence imo that one of the top 2nd generation ships, which is actively promoted by their agency, is real, especially when one of them had a public dating scandal with a younger girl.

in Korea, doing your time in the military is seen as a national service and important rite of passage into adulthood for men. Korea is also very pro-military without a strong pro-peace counter-culture like in the US.

 

I am not saying it is the same in Korea lmao. I just mentioned it as something that could be done if someone was pro-peace and didn't want to serve in such a conservative institution but for a celeb I would imagine it is hard.

Every gay/bi person is different, so there's really no way to say, "A real gay idol would do X." Some gay/bi people are cautious, some are really outgoing, and some are in-between.

I know but being outgoing and putting on fanservice like say kissing your members etc is different if they are not dating right? I am sure they are outgoing when they are not with their colleagues where one misstep might spell end of the group

I genuinely think there are more flamboyant idols who give zero fucks and just enjoy the skinship because they like being around guys and are naturally flirty. Like Jackson, Jungwoo and Ten. 

 

Then you have those that are variously uptight about skinship and seem averse to contact and everyone is like nah, he hates guys he don't wanna be touched. But that can be so misleading as there can be so many reasons for such behaviour. Not every queer guy is a touchy-feely type. He may have a boyfriend so doesn't want to seem/look disloyal. He may think that skinship reveals too much of himself or he may hate being used for skinship.

 

Then there are those who blow hot and cold, like I. M. who has lots of panic moments but also several skinship and cuddly/loving moments he initiates with someone he likes/trusts, like Shownu .  

 

They're all individuals who handle it in their own way.

 

Aaah I don't know any of the idols you mentioned! I guess I only know about the older idols.

 

What I think is, gay idols won't just do skinship cause they like it, cause won't it make things awkward between the members. I mean I can't imagine myself doing skinship with my friends just because I like girls. In fact I am always conscious about that :3

 

Although for Sungjong it could be that he is not interested in guys and maybe he is not cis.

what do you guys think about Sungjong? I never really watched Infinite reality shows and always shipped him with different people but now that i am actually into infinite shows, it seems he just isn't interested in flirting or whatever they have going with other couples.
