haha! i saw the thread once (i admit it) recently.....whew...hard work to keep updating like that. pardon moi, i'm fairly new to a lot of things in kpop...i was just a casual kpop listener then the groups really started to matter to me (Yes, Infinite, you) And the horrors of weekly music shows selection, I try to keep up cos it's so important to Infinite. What I see of the criteria mostly Digital%>Physical%>SNS But sometimes SNS is the tipping point that cost Infinite the win before. (or it cud've helped them in the past) The networks weekly music shows are weird...do they even invite non-idol artists or the agencies have all the slots booked? I mean even if the non-idol performers don't care about winning, it would be nice to have that diversity.

hmm... are you saying it's because of their high album sales? Does GDA Album award refer to physical album sales only? oh..that's why they have separate award for Digital? (btw, some lower charting physical albums are going back to to the top - dunno whether due to last minute fan push). You're awesome! I just feel like applauding you! Yeah, i do believe Infinite will do what they enjoy but they do want to explore new things. This is actually what I meant about Infinite being aware about their music - they want to progress for sure. Well about digitals...the thing is digitals matter a lot in the music shows, yeah, i know folks may not give a damn about the music shows (sheesh..way too complicated for me, n dun get me started on SNS points! arggh!!) but it does matter a lot to Infinite. Every single time they win, it's like the 1st time again for them - you can see the anxiety, the hope & the sheer joy when they win. But unfortunately digitals count a lot in winning. Physical album sales are important (I want both physical & digital) but existing fans are the ones that contribute the most to physical sales. General public acceptance is mostly shown in digital sales. I do believe though that great songs will always be remembered and not lost in the digital sea. Songs that remain in high rankings in digitals will get them more exposure, more opportunites to perform in shows beyond the weekly music shows.

hmm..i think it's a matter of finding balance between old & new. Drop everything that made Infinite's music identifiable, then there is a risk of losing existing fans & really what made their music distinctive. So they had to have a mix of both. Actually I do think they've been gradually changing their music. 2015 who knows? Maybe a much greater leap? Overall as vocalists they have greatly improved so maybe a greater challenge. But in terms of audience, we know that Exposure is sooo important. A good song needs to be promoted as much as possible to get to a wider audience. So many times I've said to myself, this song is so great, why isn't it more popular? The difference I believe is the promotion/wider media exposure. EDIT: A word about Dilemma. I wouldn't say it was directed to a smaller audience. In fact it was meant to give them a bigger break in Japan. Freaking LEGEND Tomoyasu Hotei wrote the music for Dilemma!!!!!!!! For that name alone, heck, who wouldn't want to release that rock song.

I think Infinite is aware of that..and that's why they are trying different styles of music. There was a past post I believe that said that Season 2 was the close of a circle for them and now they moving to a different stage. I do believe (pray) that in 2015 they will deliver a different style. I do expect they can't 100% drop everything....but enough of a change to stop folks from thinking "it's same old ". I loved MIL & Destiny. I still think Last Romeo & Back are really good but the remixes/rock versions brought out more of the songs epicness better than the original releases did. And how beautiful was Diamond? They need that hook for their next title song - something that immediately catches the ear. There was no way anyone could resist Be Mine which is still mentioned by general public. And pls pls promote more longer and widely (I believe this is what they did with Be Mine). I want them to slay physical and DIGITAL.
