  1. I think she's just an extremely awkward person and she didn't actually intend to make him feel put on the spot. Most of the things she says come off as weird and unnatural, especially when she's trying to be funny or clever. She's a cute kid, but I honestly have no idea why she's hosting that show when she clearly doesn't have the skills for it.

I know she also put Eric on the spot about not being married yet - although it was obviously done in a joking manner. I agree with you though, to host these kinds of shows it's best to have a level of social awareness or sensitivity that I'm not sure she has. At least not yet. It's just when dealing with people's personal lives like that it's best not to overstep I think?

On another note, Myungjong fancam omf

  2.

Thank you for finding those!!  :)

I still think she's gay and I also kind of think she's trying to navigate the fact that there are tons of guys who are obsessing over and watching that viral fancam a million times. I mean, I'm sure it's flattering to a degree and it's undeniably good for EXID but going by the chance that she might be strictly attracted to women I imagine it could be quite overwhelming to say the least

  3.

I found out about Myungjong in this thread, and at first i was like whuuut but now i totally ship them^^

Omg bless. Their relationship is so beautiful

This is old but I searched and didn't see it discussed here. Did anyone watch the Cross Gene episode for ASC? I know some people suspect Takuya because of his role in The Lover (I'm more leaning ally, but whatever) but really this entire group pings to high heaven.

Anyway, there was one part of the episode that pissed me off a little. They had a segment where they had each member say something secret about one of the other members before the show and then the members had to pick who had said which messages as well as who they were about. At around 21:25 in the video, the secret message is "he is very good at girl group dances!" The message was about Takuya but it took a while for them to guess that, I guess they're all pretty good at them, but anyway, Takuya proceeded to do a dance as Jimin cracked up in the back. She then said that she had seen him in a commercial which "had not been his image," (she was talking about The Lover, I assume). Takuya then outright says he doesn't like guys and that people asume he is gay because of the drama, and then Kevin very uncomfortably tells everyone to move on: :ninja:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWGuMf4tSFU

Kevin's subtlety issues aside, what was the deal with Jimin there? Do many people in Korea really think someone is gay just because they play a gay character in a drama? I really hope that doesn't come to define Takuya's career.

I did see that episode and while I do have an inclination to think Takuya might be gay, I think Jimin handled it in a totally inappropriate fashion. This is Korea, realistically even if he was gay he wouldn't say "Oh yeah, I really do like boys. Gee Jimin, thanks I've been meaning to mention that". Like... no. The same thing happened with Hoya when he took on the Reply 1997 role, which was arguably even more subtle than Takuya's because the whole time it was onesided and then had an open, unconfirmed ending. But then people (mostly other celebrities from what I heard) harassed him so much that he felt legitimately uncomfortable. Their personal preferences aside whatever they may be, these actors and idols are going to be scared to take on these roles if people keeping digging into their personal lives every time they do.

  4. I know it would seem like idols have no reason to have beards because they mostly date in private, but that's not entirely true. Taeyeon for instance has had gay rumors surrounding her in Korea for a long time, almost as long as SNSD have been a group, so there is plenty of motivation there for her to have a beard. As well as the fact that she already appeared on the national bearding program and that did almost nothing to quell the rumors.

  5. Oh i see you know what is going on inside SM? Do you perhaps work there?

Boo, I know you live vicariously through Baekyeon and everything, but if you can't deal with people here thinking their relationship is fake I just wouldn't come back here if I were you. Because I think it's safe to say most of us do.

  6. Tired excuses.  People don't hide forever.  This is always the tired excuse to try to claim that there are so many more gay people...you just can't count them because they are hiding.

As for the last part, there is a very active group such as yourself that would be sure to let everyone know if a former celebrity was seen doing something.  We see this all the time...a celebrity who is a has been suddenly makes the news because they did something newsworthy, such as getting in a drunk driving accident, or their marriage beaks up, or they commit some crime, or one was committed against them.  Happens all the time.  The same would be true if any gay person saw a celebrity that was hiding the fact that they were gay, but then slipped up and was seen doing something, it would be instant fodder for the internet.

Except some do. Especially in countries like Korea where it is very much still expected for people to get married and raise a family with someone of the opposite sex.

Actually gay people would be the least likely to out someone against their will - especially someone like me who has been outed and knows how life-destroying it can be. We have all been closeted, we all know how scary it is, let alone if you could lose your career over it as well. It's a lot more likely that a straight person would do it because they've never had to hide their sexuality and either do not understand the ramifications of outing someone or do not care.

Anyway, I would suggest if you don't like what we're doing here just move along and stop wasting everyone's time.

  7. Kpop has been around for along time now.  A couple of decades now.  Many groups have come and gone.  How many have come out since then?  After making the money, they can move to countries where it is less closed, such as the U.S., Canada, or even Australia where same sex marriage has been accepted and legal for decades, etc...  I know if I were forced to hide who I was for the sake of my career, I would be very motivated to not hide it once my career was basically over.  Also, unless you simply do not act out your sexuality, unless you are celibate, you would eventually slip up and people would see something.

The truth is that there are gay people, always have been, and always will be, but it is not "a lot" of people, it is a very small minority.

The logical reason they haven't is because career or no career, they could lose their families and their friends if they came out. But with that being said, they shouldn't be forced to leave everything that they love behind just to feel safe and secure in their own identities. Besides, even if they did leave or stay and come out you likely wouldn't hear about it anyway, because they aren't celebrities anymore. They can be open in their personal lives once it's over and no one is going to give a shit because they're not new and current or even working. How do you know people haven't seen anything? Maybe they just have discretion and the respect not to out people against their will.

  8. Not to mwntion after that scandal broke out of proportions, they were in bangkok for OGS and that's when the flower proposal thing happened. And you can see Sungjong making that sorta "okay-i'll-accept-it-whatever" face when he pulled the flower and also sunggyu's and dongwoo's reaction.

And is it just me or the myungyeol action is getting on again in this era? There are myungjong moments here and there but it seemed somehow pushed back to a lower level.

I think it was probably just Sungjong messing around on stage, I doubt he was genuinely pissy at Myungsoo for it. There was plenty of footage behind the scenes during Grow and on stage where Sungjong hugged Myungsoo and was genuinely supporting him, despite the fact that it was pretty easy to tell that it was impacting him as well.

Honestly I haven't noticed a huge increase in Myungyeol. Myungjong moments are still subtler when we get them, but the moments have increased substantially

  9. Exactly. I find it funny when people say the gay ones are the ones you would never think off. I have never heard of a gay celebrity (or even my own friends,...) that didn't have gay rumors before coming out. It's very easy for a lot of people to say someone is definitely straight but if you mention them possibly being gay they freak out and say you can't know that!? Also it's funny when someone with rumors gets a boyfriend and people say they knew they were straight and everyone who thinks different are delusional,... Like don't you know bisexuals exist? Don't you know celebrities sometimes date people for other reasons than love? Ugh sorry for the rant

Don't be sorry, I feel you!! The double standard is really frustrating. People here are so willing to assume every idol is straight, but the second anyone mentions them possibly being gay the pitchforks come out. At the end of the day idols are just people and a lot of people are gay, so the fact that there are some users here who think idols are an exception to the rule is absolutely laughable. Also as you said, celebrities don't just date for love. They have plenty of motivations for getting a beard. They work in a homophobic country, with homophobic fans watching their every move. Fake dating is definitely the less career destroying option here.

  10. It's okay. I didn't know it and I was kinda shocked tbh that most people weren't that open. I expected otherwise.. But thank you for getting me back here.

As for SeulRene, I just can't ignore them eyesexing everytime  :rlytearpls:

I can definitely understand why. It's an international forum, so the expectancy is that people here would be a bit more open about these kinds of things, but alas, that is not the case. I am glad I could get you back here though  :)

    That's so true!!

This performance in particular gets me every time.

  11. Just wanted to add that we can see that during Grow, Sungjong has to deal with "personal problems" that he "can't talk about". Kind of suspicious too.

Thank you for adding that!! I think it was very clear that Sungjong was going through it as well, but people just disregarded it and wrote it off as him "feeling for his band mate". But he clearly said personal problems, so like.

  12. from what i heard you ppl basically repeating the same idols when you didn't think that the least exepected idol you could think of could be gay or bi.

'Us people' mention the idols that we think are gay. Maybe the same names get mentioned because people are onto something. If you don't like it then mention other people or leave, it's really not rocket science lmao

  13. I don't know if you guys have talked about RV yet.. (I'm new. T^T Please take care of me.)

But what do you think of Red Velvet's Irene and Seulgi? I've been shipping them so hard for two weeks now and have been a fan of RV for a week or so, but have liked Seulgi since debut.

I definitely ship Seulrene and see the definite chemistry there!! By the way sorry for treatment you got in that other thread. The rest of the forum does not do well with discussions about gay idols that's why we keep it to the two gay threads.

  14. What makes people think their relationship wasn't real? (I wasn't into K-pop as much when it all happened)

There are a few reasons and most surround the legitimacy of the scandal itself.

They supposedly dated for four months (conveniently like so many other confirmed idol relationships) and in that time they were only seen/photographed together in public... once. Even though Infinite are spotted constantly by fans when they're out in public. This is especially true for Myungsoo when he's out shopping or at restaurants. Yet, they were only photographed once, from the back while they were out in a group while shopping for an OGS after party. Doyeon also conveniently had her arm around his for one of the two photos.

The other "proof" consisted of them wearing documented couple clothes a few times, including a black bracelet and some shoes that he was also conveniently wearing in the two photos of them seen together. That's really proof of nothing since stylists could easily have told him to wear it, but fans seem obsessed with idols wearing couple clothing which was likely the instigator for that.

Then we have the infamous photo of Myungsoo (we assume since it's just a severed hand) holding her hair and wearing the bracelet. Now for anyone who is even remotely familiar with Myungsoo, it's pretty well-known that whenever anyone asks him about his ideal type he says an "innocent looking girl, with long wavy hair". His supposed (i'm dubious about the whole thing) obsession with long wavy hair has been well-documented, so how convenient for one piece of proof to be him literally holding a strand of long wavy hair.

This leads me to the most potent "evidence" - their SNS posts. This whole thing came to be because Doyeon posted "cryptic" messages to Myungsoo on her Twitter account. I say cryptic, but they weren't really, she left them out there so that anyone with a brain could "decode" them. Then her and her friend were found complaining about one of Myungsoo's female coworkers and he made a string of posts addressing it - also "cryptically". It's more supposed evidence that could easily be disproved. I don't think enough people take into account that just because something comes from someone's account doesn't mean it's them posting it - and even if it is, they could easily have been told to.

So how convenient that all supposed evidence of them dating was in public, easily traceable on social media or doesn't show Myungsoo's face, just her's.

So what was her motivation for doing something like that? As someone already mentioned Kim Doyeon is no ordinary girl. Her dad is very well off and was responsible for the distribution of Myungsoo's photobook. It was also revealed right after the scandal that Doyeon wanted to become an actress and basically used this to get a leg-up in the industry. Confirmed by the fact that every time the scandal would die she would bring it back up again.

If that's not enough, right after the scandal Myungjong moments ceased to exist. This might not seem like a big deal, but it is when you consider that prior to it they were glued to each other's sides. They stopped standing next to each other, stopped touching in public. It all came to a screeching stop. Then This Is Infinite happened. All the members had to kiss Myungsoo somewhere on his face/hair/whatever and the only one that was cut was Sungjong. All other six were shown. That was when a lot of people realized what the motivation might be.

There are still some fans who think their relationship was perfectly real and legitimate, but there are also a lot that acknowledge that it's unlikely.

  15. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCsZ1nVYmEc&feature=youtu.be&a

Watch this. I kinda agree that no straight guys would kiss guys out of the blue just for fan service. Ehem got*7* Mark, Jr.

One thing that I find interesting is that he mentioned their hair and makeup quite a few times. I don't know how familiar he is with kpop overall, but literally every male idol wears makeup and gets their hair done by a stylist, so that really says absolutely nothing.

  16. while it was a bit much (especially this particular scene), don't forget that when this movie came out in korea there were still people who were harboring mistrust and other negative thoughts towards L.

this scene turned him back into a sympathetic figure, and also stands as a bit of a "warning" for the fans. like "look, those things you say are not felt as lightly as you throw them out."

That is very true, but I think if the whole dating scandal itself was handled better that wouldn't have been necessary. Whether people believe it was real or not (to my understanding most people here don't, but still) I think we can all agree that it was a lot messier than it had to be.

Still I think it is very important that fans realize their words and actions have repercussions. For some reason they think they can just treat idols like shit and that it doesn't matter because they're celebrities. But these idols are human beings at the end of the day and the things people say about them are truly vile sometimes  :._.:
