Which male idols do you think are gay?
milk-caramel replied to cold soba's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
I know she also put Eric on the spot about not being married yet - although it was obviously done in a joking manner. I agree with you though, to host these kinds of shows it's best to have a level of social awareness or sensitivity that I'm not sure she has. At least not yet. It's just when dealing with people's personal lives like that it's best not to overstep I think? On another note, Myungjong fancam omf -

^ Thank you for finding those!! :) I still think she's gay and I also kind of think she's trying to navigate the fact that there are tons of guys who are obsessing over and watching that viral fancam a million times. I mean, I'm sure it's flattering to a degree and it's undeniably good for EXID but going by the chance that she might be strictly attracted to women I imagine it could be quite overwhelming to say the least -

Omg bless. Their relationship is so beautiful I did see that episode and while I do have an inclination to think Takuya might be gay, I think Jimin handled it in a totally inappropriate fashion. This is Korea, realistically even if he was gay he wouldn't say "Oh yeah, I really do like boys. Gee Jimin, thanks I've been meaning to mention that". Like... no. The same thing happened with Hoya when he took on the Reply 1997 role, which was arguably even more subtle than Takuya's because the whole time it was onesided and then had an open, unconfirmed ending. But then people (mostly other celebrities from what I heard) harassed him so much that he felt legitimately uncomfortable. Their personal preferences aside whatever they may be, these actors and idols are going to be scared to take on these roles if people keeping digging into their personal lives every time they do. -

I know it would seem like idols have no reason to have beards because they mostly date in private, but that's not entirely true. Taeyeon for instance has had gay rumors surrounding her in Korea for a long time, almost as long as SNSD have been a group, so there is plenty of motivation there for her to have a beard. As well as the fact that she already appeared on the national bearding program and that did almost nothing to quell the rumors. -

Specifically it's from a bunch of different shows. But those caps are from the masterpost of Hani's disgust when talking about men lmao You can find it on Tumblr here -

Boo, I know you live vicariously through Baekyeon and everything, but if you can't deal with people here thinking their relationship is fake I just wouldn't come back here if I were you. Because I think it's safe to say most of us do. -

You're right, some people just can't be reasoned with. And idk he came from the other thread where he was telling me all about how gay people are abnormal -

milk-caramel replied to Pyo Hyemi's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
Except some do. Especially in countries like Korea where it is very much still expected for people to get married and raise a family with someone of the opposite sex. Actually gay people would be the least likely to out someone against their will - especially someone like me who has been outed and knows how life-destroying it can be. We have all been closeted, we all know how scary it is, let alone if you could lose your career over it as well. It's a lot more likely that a straight person would do it because they've never had to hide their sexuality and either do not understand the ramifications of outing someone or do not care. Anyway, I would suggest if you don't like what we're doing here just move along and stop wasting everyone's time. -

The logical reason they haven't is because career or no career, they could lose their families and their friends if they came out. But with that being said, they shouldn't be forced to leave everything that they love behind just to feel safe and secure in their own identities. Besides, even if they did leave or stay and come out you likely wouldn't hear about it anyway, because they aren't celebrities anymore. They can be open in their personal lives once it's over and no one is going to give a shit because they're not new and current or even working. How do you know people haven't seen anything? Maybe they just have discretion and the respect not to out people against their will. -

I think it was probably just Sungjong messing around on stage, I doubt he was genuinely pissy at Myungsoo for it. There was plenty of footage behind the scenes during Grow and on stage where Sungjong hugged Myungsoo and was genuinely supporting him, despite the fact that it was pretty easy to tell that it was impacting him as well. Honestly I haven't noticed a huge increase in Myungyeol. Myungjong moments are still subtler when we get them, but the moments have increased substantially -

Don't be sorry, I feel you!! The double standard is really frustrating. People here are so willing to assume every idol is straight, but the second anyone mentions them possibly being gay the pitchforks come out. At the end of the day idols are just people and a lot of people are gay, so the fact that there are some users here who think idols are an exception to the rule is absolutely laughable. Also as you said, celebrities don't just date for love. They have plenty of motivations for getting a beard. They work in a homophobic country, with homophobic fans watching their every move. Fake dating is definitely the less career destroying option here. -

I can definitely understand why. It's an international forum, so the expectancy is that people here would be a bit more open about these kinds of things, but alas, that is not the case. I am glad I could get you back here though :) That's so true!! This performance in particular gets me every time. -

Thank you for adding that!! I think it was very clear that Sungjong was going through it as well, but people just disregarded it and wrote it off as him "feeling for his band mate". But he clearly said personal problems, so like. -

'Us people' mention the idols that we think are gay. Maybe the same names get mentioned because people are onto something. If you don't like it then mention other people or leave, it's really not rocket science lmao -

I definitely ship Seulrene and see the definite chemistry there!! By the way sorry for treatment you got in that other thread. The rest of the forum does not do well with discussions about gay idols that's why we keep it to the two gay threads. -
Which male idols do you think are gay?
milk-caramel replied to cold soba's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
There are a few reasons and most surround the legitimacy of the scandal itself. They supposedly dated for four months (conveniently like so many other confirmed idol relationships) and in that time they were only seen/photographed together in public... once. Even though Infinite are spotted constantly by fans when they're out in public. This is especially true for Myungsoo when he's out shopping or at restaurants. Yet, they were only photographed once, from the back while they were out in a group while shopping for an OGS after party. Doyeon also conveniently had her arm around his for one of the two photos. The other "proof" consisted of them wearing documented couple clothes a few times, including a black bracelet and some shoes that he was also conveniently wearing in the two photos of them seen together. That's really proof of nothing since stylists could easily have told him to wear it, but fans seem obsessed with idols wearing couple clothing which was likely the instigator for that. Then we have the infamous photo of Myungsoo (we assume since it's just a severed hand) holding her hair and wearing the bracelet. Now for anyone who is even remotely familiar with Myungsoo, it's pretty well-known that whenever anyone asks him about his ideal type he says an "innocent looking girl, with long wavy hair". His supposed (i'm dubious about the whole thing) obsession with long wavy hair has been well-documented, so how convenient for one piece of proof to be him literally holding a strand of long wavy hair. This leads me to the most potent "evidence" - their SNS posts. This whole thing came to be because Doyeon posted "cryptic" messages to Myungsoo on her Twitter account. I say cryptic, but they weren't really, she left them out there so that anyone with a brain could "decode" them. Then her and her friend were found complaining about one of Myungsoo's female coworkers and he made a string of posts addressing it - also "cryptically". It's more supposed evidence that could easily be disproved. I don't think enough people take into account that just because something comes from someone's account doesn't mean it's them posting it - and even if it is, they could easily have been told to. So how convenient that all supposed evidence of them dating was in public, easily traceable on social media or doesn't show Myungsoo's face, just her's. So what was her motivation for doing something like that? As someone already mentioned Kim Doyeon is no ordinary girl. Her dad is very well off and was responsible for the distribution of Myungsoo's photobook. It was also revealed right after the scandal that Doyeon wanted to become an actress and basically used this to get a leg-up in the industry. Confirmed by the fact that every time the scandal would die she would bring it back up again. If that's not enough, right after the scandal Myungjong moments ceased to exist. This might not seem like a big deal, but it is when you consider that prior to it they were glued to each other's sides. They stopped standing next to each other, stopped touching in public. It all came to a screeching stop. Then This Is Infinite happened. All the members had to kiss Myungsoo somewhere on his face/hair/whatever and the only one that was cut was Sungjong. All other six were shown. That was when a lot of people realized what the motivation might be. There are still some fans who think their relationship was perfectly real and legitimate, but there are also a lot that acknowledge that it's unlikely. -

One thing that I find interesting is that he mentioned their hair and makeup quite a few times. I don't know how familiar he is with kpop overall, but literally every male idol wears makeup and gets their hair done by a stylist, so that really says absolutely nothing. -
Which male idols do you think are gay?
milk-caramel replied to cold soba's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
That is very true, but I think if the whole dating scandal itself was handled better that wouldn't have been necessary. Whether people believe it was real or not (to my understanding most people here don't, but still) I think we can all agree that it was a lot messier than it had to be. Still I think it is very important that fans realize their words and actions have repercussions. For some reason they think they can just treat idols like shit and that it doesn't matter because they're celebrities. But these idols are human beings at the end of the day and the things people say about them are truly vile sometimes -

It's from Grow, the documentary Infinite did around the time of the dating scandal.
