His own Exo members think he’s gay though and they’re in Korea.
Why is the Korean gp opinion the gold standard of who’s gay or not? They’re pretty ignorant unless an idol is really femme like Daewhi or out-there like Heechul. I think I read somewhere in this thread that there are people in Korea who think Key is straight. That time when Sehun nervously said “I like men” in front of an audience who just laughed?
And even if there are lgbt or we’ll-meaning Korean people who pick-up that an idol might be queer, I think they would keep more quiet about it so as to not jeopardise the idol’s career.
Whereas Western fans are like don’t hide, be yourself, are you gay?, trending “x gay”…without understanding the culture of what it’s like to come out/be out in Korea.
i'm sorry but a logical person would watch that and know that kai told sehun to do it because the whole episode they were ganging up on him and having him do the most goofy ones and that's the typical exo dynamic, sehun and suho are always being set up. i mean do you truly believe this was kai's way of publicly outing sehun and telling the world he's a pro dick sucker? what about that is rational
sehun having no interest in girls only sounds sus if you're ignorant to korean culture because that's a very common way of people saying they aren't interested in dating and sehun has literally said that about himself, how he's focused on his career and doesn't have a desire to be in a relationship. again, why the fuck would you think exo would literally out sehun on a radio broadcast? how are you going to go on and on about korea being extremely and grossly homophobic to the point where idols could lose their careers but then believe exo's just telling everybody sehun's a homosexual and laughing? your lack of awareness and how nothing you say makes sense is actually the most irritating thing here, not that you keep speaking for a grown man
korean opinion is the gold standard because these are korean men and your views on queerness have no weight if queerness manifests itself differently depending on the culture and society, this should be a given. also who told you koreans keep things on the dl? they have forums just like we do and have the same conversations. in fact there was a list going around a year or two ago about which idols and kdrama actors/actresses the gp thought was queer and guess what? sehun wasn't on the list lmao. color me shocked
btw exo were saying there were a lot of fanboys in the audience and sehun replied "that's okay too, i like men", meaning he didn't mind having male fans. the only reason he looked awkward afterwards was because everyone took it wrong and he immediately knew that, that's why he started laughing and exo too. for the third time, why would you think sehun would out himself on stage? funny how you take this very public incident as 100% literal but something that happened on a smaller more private scale like an instagram live is the time where sehun's actually being dishonest. like he'll come out on camera or on stage in front of thousands of people but will lie in his live stream lmao. you're nuts

Aah Regina where do you find the time to write such a long long post.
Also I refrain myself of calling you ignored to the entire lgtbq situation in SK, cause boy do you not grasp what it feels like to be in the closet in a conservative country and I really hope you never do. If you cannot see the why some idols/actors would lie about their sexuality or hide it, than you will never get the point.
I think you and I will never agree on this matter, so let's just drop it.
honey someone asked sehun a question and he had no obligation to acknowledge it but he did and said he wasn't gay. so why do you keep talking about idols feeling like they have to lie and hide in secrecy when he literally wasn't in any position where he had to do that, because again, NOBODY in his kor fanbase or in the general public thinks he's gay. like this is not something he's ever had to defend himself against despite all the "receipts" people here keep talking about. he didn't even make a big deal out of it, he just loled at the question, gave the answer and moved on to the next. y'all are really coming up with all kinds of conspiracy theories about his management being the ones who asked the question to deceive the public and sehun deciding to use reverse psychology in the 10 seconds it took the whole thing to transpire and it's very sad. like you really don't need to do this.

Do you know why I never bother with explaining why you are wrong or are weird? Cause it is evident in all of your post. That is why I asked are you okay. You are way to involved whether an idol is gay or not. What we say or do on this site is speculation and until someone comes out ( which won't happen anytime soon), it will all be guess work.
But I will say this to you. The level of naivety you are showing is remarkable. Recently a woman came out and she was first judged because of her old accusations of pot smoking to make her look bad because she was gay. Christian Cults are making life worser for lgtbq people and SK has been even on the list of amnesty for unsafe countries for queer people. If you think whether it be Sehun or other idols would ever confirm on a live IG that they are gay and lose so much, that makes you an idiot and naive.
Anyways good riddance of your negativity.
i don't know how else to explain it to you dude and if it doesn't click after reading this then don't even reply to me. please, spare me. dead serious. just move on.
sehun did not need to confirm or deny being gay. he didn't even need to answer the question at all, but he did. he chose to address it for whatever reason, laughed at it and said "no". this literally has nothing to do with whatever bullshit you're talking about with christian cults and marijuana and amnesty. this is about (1) person and the context of a situation. but you've indicated to me 3 separate times now that you either don't or can't grasp the idea of context and compartmentalization so that's a dead end, apparently. allow me to try and explain it another way.
you and everyone else here seem to believe that gay people act the same everywhere you go, like different cultures and societies just don't exist and have no bearing on the way people behave or present. they do exist and cultural differences play a huge part into why idols who are "fruity" by western/international standards are barely on the radar in korea and vice versa. of course there is some overlap and a few idols would probably be thought of as lgbt anywhere they went, but there are so many things that just don't cross over. speaking of which, SEHUN. nobody in korea thinks sehun is gay. that's never been something that was attached to him there, not by the general public or korean exols. in fact there's ALWAYS been whispers of him and female actresses in korea. now those could have just been rumors or maybe he was really dating these actresses, but it goes to show how people from his own culture view him. i put a hell of a lot more weight into that than not.
last but not least, it's almost like you people have never seen how koreans interact with each other. like you'll see korean guys hanging out and being physically affectionate and raise an eyebrow, forgetting that that level of physical contact and comfort among korean men is literally the norm and NEVER looked at as being weird. korean guys will literally sit on each other's laps and squeeze their thighs and caress their faces and then go home and bang their girlfriends whom they're very much attracted to because they're straight men. this is just what it is. what's seen as sus to you doesn't even register for them. so how can you possibly base any of your assumptions about a male idol's sexuality on the way they interact with other men when that just by itself is already a 180 difference from what's considered normal "straight guy" behavior in the west? you can't. and it doesn't make sense to. they're different cultures therefore they should be judged differently. again...context.
TLDR: sehun's not gay, stop looking at cultural differences as indicators of sexuality and stop trying to judge sexuality by western standards and societal norms. it's moronic. period.

Okay you lost your relevance and logic here. As rananicolee said, you can't say one thing and then demand the rules be different when it concerns another idol. If by your logic we should see sehun as a straight men ( because of his own words), then the same criteria should be upholded for the others who speak for themselves.
When you don't follow your own logic and don't make sense on a post, this is when you are considered a troll and just out to annoy people who disagree with you.
don't know if you can read but i clearly stated that sehun not being gay is based on him saying he isn't in conjunction with the fact that he hasn't done anything sus, like jay park has. the situations are different therefore my opinions about sehun and jay park are different. and you shouldn't speak about "logic" if you can't understand that. if you really can't comprehend how situations with different contexts should be handled differently then i honestly don't know how you've survived this long, like yikes

and jay park is a gay man still in the closet who has said homophobic (and racist) things to try and make himself feel better about that fact

I know the general consensus on this thread is that Ten's for sure gay, and I definitely thought so too but there's been some buzz on K-10velytwt that's making me kinda unsure lately (which tbh I never thought would be possible
) I was wondering what you guys think, because all of ten's tells were pretty substantial proof to me before, but now I'm not so sure. The buzz is about him having a girlfriend. (and ultimately, not being gay.) It's long so I'll spoiler the rest.
I-fans have no clue about this. It's only on k and j side of the fandom. If you search Ten in hangul, 텐, the searches that come up are 텐여친 (ten gf), 텐여자친구 (ten girlfriend), and 텐비계 (I'm not sure what exactly a 비계 is but from the tweets I've seen apparently the search is about his private finsta).
I can't speak Korean, i can only read and write hangul so I don't wanna show any of the tweets and spread any misinformation, because Twitter translate is definitely not accurate. The general gist though is that this started from the 520 video he made a joke saying 10 x 10 = 100 and apparently that relates to his apparent gf's name, and some egg accounts popped up accusing him of talking to his gf through his bubble saying things like "I miss you" or "I think of you a lot", and apparently thai fans have known for a while.
TLDR; Egg accounts are accusing him of having a girlfriend and there's maybe 3 or 4 of these accs.
Now, we know egg accounts aren't 100% reliable but the idea of ten possibly having a gf sounded kind of silly to me at first but then I thought, is ten actually not gay??? I don't know cause before there seemed to be a lot of indicators of him being gay, but now I'm not so sure. Basically, my question to you guys is, do think ten could actually not be gay? I mean, of course we'll never know for sure unless he comes out but like do you think the proof/indicators we've seen this far might actually not be anything?
(Tbh I'm only writing about this for the ten not being gay thing, but if you want to read more, the rumors have apparently been refuted on this account https://twitter.com/in90778429?s=09 and more info is available on the egg accounts this person is following.)i'm sorry but there hasn't been any proof of ten being gay lmao. proof is shit that's undeniable and nobody here or on any other website has presented anything that undeniably proves ten is 100% gay without a doubt. there's a lot of speculation, personal interpretation and downright delusion but like...who cares.

So let me get this straight. Even though Jay Park has said multiple times he is a straight man then you're gonna ignore that. But you're going to also respect the fact that Sehun said he was straight and fight everyone that says otherwise. That doesn't work like that.
I was not going to respond to anything in this thread again and let everyone vibe out and stuff.
It does work like that because the situations are different? Jay was or is actually sus whereas Sehun isn't, he's just from a different culture lol. Like Koreans wouldn't look at Sehun or watch him interact with people and say "oh yeah that guy's definitely fruity". He doesn't even have that reputation in Korea and he's not a fan favorite in the LGBT community there like some other idols, who interestingly enough are hardly ever on anyone's radar internationally. So the vast majority of people who think he's this big gay icon are Western fans. In addition a lot of the receipts people bring to the table about him being gay are lackluster and fall short of proving anything. It's all very dubious and open for interpretation. Like he was lusting after men? You mean...looking in their general direction? Lmao okay. That's why when we have something a bit more substantial, like him saying he's not gay and the context around that, I'm tempted to give that weight.
But about Jay Park, I truthfully don't care about him and I'm certainly not about to argue about him being gay or bisexual in this thread right now. I was just saying he used to behave in a way that was odd and common with dudes in denial, but whatevs lol.
1 minute ago, Oriane said:I disagree with a lot of things you said if I’m being honest, but you raised a point. A lot of gay people on denial are insecure and act extra straight to convince themselves they are straight. My gay cousin was exactly like that. I think that’s called straight passing
Right. Happens a lot. Pretty sure my own father is gay and he's always been in relationships with women.

Jay park?!?! Which jay park cuz I know you’re not talking about AOMG jay park.
Yeah him. I'll just talk about it briefly because there's a lot and I don't even keep up with him anymore but I remember when he was in his old group 2PM I always thought he was sus because he went out of his way to talk about how he wasn't gay and always made it a point to remind people that he wasn't gay. He seemed to have a hangup about it but it wasn't super noticeable. I actually stanned 2PM for a while though and Jay was my bias, so I definitely caught on to it and other 2PM fans did as well. One thing he did in particular that was totally unnecessary (but he felt the need to do it every time) was change the words in songs from boy to girl or any kind of pronouns to she/her when he was covering a female artist/girl group. He just wouldn't sing any lyric if it was referring to a man. Then this guy who knew him in Seattle before he moved to Korea to train said Jay was one of those young guys who was anti "girl" things, like he never wanted to be seen as girly or feminine. Of course this "old friend" could have been a fake and never met Jay a day in his life, but it was uncanny because some of us found this really poor quality rap track Jay had made pre-debut and the lyrics were just him talking about how he's not a pussy and he's no bitch. It seemed to correlate with what this "old friend" had said.
But yeah, I haven't followed Jay or cared about what he's doing in years but I imagine that the image he was trying to uphold back then is tenfold now. But I'm not saying I'm totally convinced he's gay because I do think he likes women too, but it's just peculiar because so many guys who are actually gay or bi behave like this. Being staunchly homophobic or always out to prove how manly and "not gay" they are is their coping mechanism and their way of burying and denying their sexuality.
On 5/19/2021 at 1:37 PM, Bushi said:I mean, I'm sorry, but you've got to be joking. It's not about silly westerners making fluff up about Sehun. It's about Sehun saying several times that he likes men, footage of him lusting after men, hanging out with and taking an older man on private holidays with him. All his own actions with no help from westerners or anyone else.
I respect what he says but he also lives and works in a highly homophobic country with a masculinity obsession and he has military service to do. Where gay males have been driven to near suicide by witchhunting and bullying. Even Jo Kwon's clearly put 'straight' on his preliminary papers. Good grief, this isnt rocket science, lol.
Of course idols might not be comfortable with saying openly 'I am gay', whether they are, or are bi, or just undecided. We don't even know how their families would take such an open statement. How many idols do you know who come out on camera for the world? Like other idols Sehun is also under contract.
What part of keep an open mind aren't you getting? It's clear you are mainly here to argue, and force people to think like you.
Well it isn't happening, I can promise you. Yes, I respect that Sehun says he isn't gay. That's okay. He may well not be. And I doubt anyone from here is going round his house banging on his door. But numerous non-straight western celebs at one time or other in their lives said the same. Let alone people having to survive in South Korea's hysterical cancel culture of its own stars, for minor discretions.
If you want to believe Sehun is straight that's absolutely fine. But don't dog people who have a different opinion.
I mean when he said he liked men he was saying that in terms of having male fans. Like he was addressing the fact that he has a lot of fanboys and his response was "that's OK, I like men". It was people like yourself who took it to mean he likes men sexually, lol. But he's never said anything like that in a sexual or romantic context. And how do you know who he was lusting after? How do you know what he was thinking when he was looking at these men? Did he tell you or are assuming he was being lustful because that's how you interpreted it? You sound like those shippers who see a 5 second interaction of an idol looking at another idol and build an entire storyline from that, lmao.
Also I know this isn't rocket science but apparently it is for you because again, for the third time, this is literally not about idols being told to hush and not talk about their sexuality. This isn't about idols not being able to come out of the closet openly and having to live a double life in secret forever. This isn't about Korea being homophobic. This is about one person and the way they handled a question that they didn't even have to address. I've said several times that with most things in life, the truthfulness and validity of a person or statement hinges on context. So that's what this whole convo is about and I'm really confused as to why that's not clicking for you.
Btw why are you acting like Sehun not being gay is my idea and my opinion? You act like I'm trying to convince you when he literally told you this himself. He said out of his mouth that he's not gay. So I'm not trying to dog you for having a different opinion, I'm dogging you for being in denial. I'm dogging you out because someone told you something and you won't believe it because "people lie". Okay? And people also genuine, so what now?
On 5/19/2021 at 1:40 PM, rananicolee said:I lurk and I just read because reading is fundamental. But Jay Park? He's a whore. I mean that in the best way. wink wink. A few years ago, it was a little scandal in his fandom that he cheated his girlfriend with this other girl
who is on a reality show on Netflix. and that girl is back commenting on his ig.Oooh it was funny and sad all at once.I swear I'm a great fan. I just like laughing...I just wanted to say that. I never try to say anything on here, guys. Carry on.
Jay being a whore is a moot point though, for a couple reasons. One, he could be bi or pan because again, sexuality isn't just het vs gay, but more importantly, it's very common for gay men to live the straight life for decades. They have girlfriends, they get married and they even having children before they decide to come out or live the way they've always wanted. Some gay men never come out and no one knows who they truly are except a few select people. So while Jay being a whore means or could mean he likes women, it doesn't mean he's not attracted to men.
On 5/19/2021 at 1:40 PM, liberalitea said:Jay Park? REALLY???
The same Jay Park who released a song about how much he likes butts (Mommae)???
Not trying to sound condescending but it's real ironic how Sehun telling us he's not gay has no validity because idols lie but Jay Park singing a song about women's butts is 100% proof that he's straight lmao. It's just a song. But I get why you'd have this reaction to me saying Jay might be LGBT because like I was talking about earlier, he pretty much fits the typical Western standard of masculinity and the things he sings about and some of his hobbies are heteronormative or associated with straight men. Again, it's only the idols who don't fit that standard who are thought to be gay in Kpop.
On 5/19/2021 at 1:58 PM, Bushi said:She thinks Jo Kwon and Key are gay, and yet I have zero doubt both put 'heterosexual' on their army papers, at the very least to avoid discrimination, and at max to avoid being hauled off and accused of deviancy or mental problems.
Which means Jo Kwon and Key must have lied. If she thinks they're gay but got through the military without a hitch.
An idol who tells lies in a homophobic country. Who'd have thought, eh?
I personally have no vested interest in hard proving Sehun or anyone else is gay. It's their lives, not mine. I just keep an open mind because we're dealing with a very difficult culture for LGBT. And what idols say and do one day doesn't always line up with what they say/do another day.
You don't have an open mind though. Like your thinking is very typical. You're not saying anything that's outside of the box right now, lol.

@Regina No offense but can you please tell us which male idol you think are gay and why with reasonable receipts? I actually don’t understand your existence in this thread when you just go around pissed off and write essays about Sehun and Ten are straight/ not gay or spot straight idols (in your opinion) like that. Like for what the point ? You can think they are straight, alright but this thread literally call “Which male idol you think are gay?” not “which male idol you think are straight?” I remember saw a “Which idol you think are straight although many people think they are gay?” thread on Allkpop, I think you can find that thread and put on your opinions instead ? I can understand why you have an impressive number, more than -8000 of negging.
But it's not about Sehun being gay anymore because he's not gay, like I'm not trying to argue that fact anymore. Now it's about why people won't accept it. Like I'm hung up on the way people won't accept that they were wrong about Sehun and don't understand that they're super regressive when it comes to sexuality, even those who claim to be "woke"/accepting and members of the LGBT community themselves. I just have a major issue with how the bar for being gay in Kpop is in hell and based entirely on Western standards of masculinity. And I'm not saying people can't think an idol is gay or speculate on an idol being gay but just do it critically.
But to answer your question I think some possible LGBT idols are Lucas, Xiaojun, Tao, Yesung, Jokwon, Key, Sunoo, Jungwon, Suga, Lee Know, Jonghyun, Jay Park and countless others, I just don't know their names because I'm only a casual listener of their group.

I don't want to date Sehun or Ten, lol. Sehun isn't even my bias in Exo. This is literally more so about Kpop fans being stupid and regressive and not wanting to accept that everything they think about gay people comes from Western stereotypes and they know fuck all about sexuality &/or gender expression. If you're not Korean or come from a Western culture then anything that isn't aggressively het is gay, and only gay too. Like apparently gay and straight are the only options out there lol. Anyway yeah, Sehun doesn't like men. Sorry.
On 5/14/2021 at 5:21 PM, joonsoulie said:ain't no damn way Chittaphon "Ten" Leechaiyapornkul is straight

I really don't think anyone is arguing that Ten and Taeyong are mlm, that's been addressed before and people generally seem to agree. Where the line is being drawn is saying they're a couple. It's okay if you ship them and think they're dating or whatever but if other people don't that doesn't take away from their gay-ness
Like I think there are probably more gay men (and women) in kpop than people think but do I believe they're dating each other? Especially within the same group? No, that just sounds messy as hell and too risky to be wise. You can find hidden/cut/"sus" moments of almost ANY pairing and it's easy to attribute it to the company hiding something - I'll admit I've done it too - but the truth is probably far more benign.
Anyway you can ship what you'd like but people are disagreeing with you not for saying Tenyong like guys, but specifically that they are romantically involved which for some seems like a bridge too far
Like I said above, him not being gay doesn't make him straight. I never said he was straight, just said he's not gay or I don't readily believe he is.

Gay : Ten (3rd gen gay king with Sehun and Ren), Jungwoo (he doesn’t hide it lmao), Taeyong, maybe Jeno (Dream gayest member for sure)
Bi : Jaehyun (can we let the ‘Jaehyun token straight’ thing go, he had an obvious crush on DY brother too)Pan : Doyoung (Kfans mostly think he is gay in denial though, which is an interesting take), Yuta
Sus : Johnny (he’s the not the straightest member like some people think but he lacks receipts), Mark (he has more sus moments than most of the straights of NCT but he’s hard to read so idk), Xiaojun (during NCT 2020 that crush on Jaehyun was obvious lol, I’m not a shipper but I’m not blind either), Yangyang (I’ve always thought he was really straight until I’ve realized how many gay jokes he does... He’s really open minded anyway, Ten raised him well jk)
The straightest members : Jaemin, Renjun, Kun, Winwin, Jisung, Lucas, Chenle (China Line is quite straight when you think about it)
For the others I honestly don’t know
I'd say this is a pretty typical opinion. The majority of people would label the members exactly like this, give or take a few differences. However personally I think Yangyang is clearly fucking straight. Imo he's really the hetest member. And for some reason Lucas has everyone thinking he's this big time slut for women, like a vagina slayer of sorts. I'm not so convinced...

i'm kinda confused if you're the op i replied to or not because you're saying you never said but the person i replied to has a different name. anyways, i'm saying that the person who i was replying to sounded like they wanted to brag about knowing all along when at the same time, it's unrealistic to come out that way. there have been many cases where people come out later. it's because he hasn't explained his intentions of reading that comment that make it not right to be boasting to other people. i get that you don't want people to immediately dismiss denials, but i think it should go both ways. people who think of other possibilities are not crazy either.
my problem lies with the tone the person i replied to had, or at least the way i perceived what they said. anyone is allowed to believe his words but anyone is equally valid to be skeptical considering the circumstances
i still don't think you're getting it though. this isn't about being able to come out or how unrealistic it is for idols to simply say they're gay. this is about sehun and the context surrounding what he said that night. again, it was out of left field for him to not only read something like that out loud but then answer it. he didn't need to do that and he had no reason to do that. so i think the fact that he did, unprovoked, is the key here. like if he would have denied that in any other setting it would be a different story, but the way it went down is giving it credence. many times the truthfulness and validity of a statement hinges on the context, hinges on what's going on at the time, and the context here is he addressed that shit for no reason other than being genuinely confused as to why people were asking such a goofy question in the chat. he even said "why are people asking me if i'm gay?" his little "giggle" at the end that people are holding onto and saying he was just pulling everyone's leg and that was his way of letting us know is literally him laughing at how random that question was. and as quickly as the question entered the chat was as quick as he answered it and moved on with the live. like it wasn't even a big thing to him lol. it took all of 10 seconds like an idol would answer any other uninteresting or pointless question. so atp i don't know what else y'all want.
also i just want to add that even though i didn't have an i told you so moment with sehun letting us all know he isn't gay, i will definitely have a huge big fat I TOLD YOU FUCKERS SO moment when the same thing happens with ten. however and whenever that happens, trust and believe i will be right here in this thread laughing at everybody who called me delusional, homophobic and stupid. like i'm not letting that one slide like i did sehun lmao.

this is not even about sehun but do you expect people who a) live in a conservative country b) literally base a good part of their marketing strategy on being seen as boyfriends/girlfriends by fans whose vast majority is of the opposite gender, to just be like "yea in case you didn't know i'm gay lol"? are you aware of how dumb that sounds?
....No I don't expect idols to just come out but that's a different situation, Ten's Nose. I'm specifically speaking about how Sehun chose to tell us he's not gay and how that wasn't satisfactory to anyone. How what he says about his own sexuality is dismissed.
3 hours ago, liberalitea said:genuine question, but are you a sasaeng? the way you're wording this post makes it seem like that you just follow these idols around & snoop on them by calling it a "fact"
just regardless of what Sehun's sexuality may be, this is a thread for assumptions and the way you're so brazen doesn't seem like you're just assuming?
Well I'm not assuming about Sehun at least because he's not gay, he literally told us that. But no I'm not a sasaeng lmao.
1 hour ago, Otterly said:I am going to answer this question because I do think it's worth discussing. I think that when an idol says he is not gay unprompted then people should at least be less confident about them being gay. A straight up denial is not always a sign that an idol is closeted, they can just be straight. Idols can just choose to not say anything and I think most gay idols will prefer that over denying themselves. In some cases it's clear that the idols are cornered and then obviously they will deny and that denial will not be either proof of them being straight or gay. It doesn't have to be them being directly cornered, like Jo Kwon denied being gay, not because he was directly asked but because of the pressure of Korean society. That denial doesn't really take away things like him being spotted at gay bars, having a gay dating scandal, and his love for gay culture. Daehwi is an idol who denied it directly and who I also see as having been cornered by mostly malicious comments about him being gay. I see his denial as a plea for people to stop commenting on his sexuality and in that case I think it's rude when people act confident that he has to be gay. And so what if he comes out as gay later? We aren't in a competition to see who of us can identify the most gay idols. We don't lose points. I don't know if Daehwi denied it for his own security or because he simply isn't gay but I do know that he doesn't want to be called gay. Maybe that's for now, maybe that's forever.
I see some fans who really can not ever be convinced by the person themselves that they are straight. Non-kpop example but Louis Tomlinson could release a sex tape with his girlfriend and his fans will say it's a deep fake created by his management. No denial is ever enough for those fans. His own fans mock him for denying he is gay. You do have to ask what besides a clear denial someone who is straight could do to convince people of that fact.
Wouldn't Sehun be one of those idols who said they weren't gay unprompted though. Like if he was having an interview or was in the middle of a fansign and somehow his sexuality was brought up and he denied being gay, that's different. But this dude was chilling at home having a personal IG live with fans and chose to read one of their questions out loud as well as answer it. He didn't have to do any of that. He could have read the question and kept it moving. He wasn't being cornered and really had no reason to address something like that right then and there. So I think the fact that it happened the way it did says a lot. I mean the context in which it all went down is important.
2 minutes ago, Dont mind me said:Until the idols come out and say who they are attracted to, we won't know anything for sure. However, I am a firm believer in behavioural patterns of someone and with some idols, they never changed until it was either for financial or military reasons to be seen less gay. If I remember correctly during his insta live he was being badgered by people and messaging him whether he was gay, this probably made him feel cornered and uncomfortable. So I understand his statements.
I'm not saying we shouldn't believe an Idol when they inform us they are straight, I am just saying in his case, there is incredible evidence that says otherwise.
He didn't seem uncomfortable, in fact he laughed at the absurdity of the question lol.

I can't believe that for years and years I argued with people in this thread about Sehun and his sexuality and was called all kinds of crazy and delusional, only for Sehun to literally say unprovoked "I'm not gay", and I had very little of a reaction to it lol. Like you'd think that would have been the biggest I told you so moment, and even though it was, I'm just disappointed that I didn't milk that shit more, because that was probably the one thing I've been adamant about in Kpop for so long and the fact that I was right and it was Sehun who proved me right? Smh, I really must be a good person because anyone else would have came here and laughed in y'alls faces. But I suppose when you already know something to be true and you've been sitting on that fact for a while, it's not such a big deal when it comes to light, like yeah...Sehun isn't gay...I've been knowing that lol.
But I have a genuine question, do Kpop fans typically not care about what an idol says in regards to their sexuality? If an idol says they do or don't identify as something, does that just not mean anything? Like why isn't Sehun telling you himself he's not gay enough for you to stop calling him gay? Is it denial? What is it?

If people actually try to use that as definitive proof he’s not gay all I have to say is do you really have no knowledge of his situation? How can anybody expect a member of one of the most popular boy groups in Korea to comfortably answer yes to the are you gay question? Just look at straight relationships still being treated as scandalous by the media in that industry. It would be detrimental to his career to answer otherwise. Sehun lives in Korea, not a liberal open minded society like Sweden or Canada.
edit: I will also add that I thought it’s really weird for someone to ask that during a live. Like what did they hope to get from it
he didn't have to say yes or no. he literally could have just ignored the comment and kept it moving. he was on his own personal live, not an interview or anything like that. he wasn't being cornered to answer, basically. but he chose to address it, and he said he's not gay. seems pretty straight forward...
11 hours ago, Wnnabe said:I'm surprised he actually replied to that question. Most idols usually ignore stuff like that. Regardless, his answer means nothing because no idol can come out right now.
Edit: why did someone give me an angry reaction?
everyone: sehun is gay
sehun: actually i'm not
everyone: yeah that means nothing??????????? like do you not know how you sound right now
11 hours ago, Kpop_fan178 said:He probably felt the need to address it because some people kept spamming the question in the chat, also probably this is not the only time he was asked this by stupid fans. Anyway for me and other people who had to stay in the closet this won't change anything.
he said he's not gay, therefore he's not gay. 2+2=4 right?

It is not easy for queer people in SK and we shouldnt judge them for making any decisions. Please understand they also have bills to pay and need a roof over their head.
please understand that sehun chose to answer that question on his own accord and chose to tell us that he's not gay. please respect him and don't speak over him.
9 hours ago, neo velvet said:if some random custie asked me if i was gay i would absolutely deny it in a heartbeat too. not because i'm ashamed of it or anything, just in a "this doesn't concern you, i don't wanna have this conversation with complete strangers, have a nice day" kinda way
yall have to remember that's what we are to idols - customers. even aside from the societal stigma and possible family/career/life complications, they have no moral obligation to be honest with us
that said, anyone with half a brain would know sehun's lying thru his teeth
thank you for telling sehun what his orientation is. after all you know him better than he knows himself. can you also tell me which numbers will be called for the mega millions? trying to win big.
6 hours ago, TataBoo said:There could be many reasons why Sehun addressed that comment:
1. He felt flustered by the amount of comments assuming his sexuality during the live.
2. SM wanted him to clear the rumors since he is now almost a senior idol in Korea.
3. He really isn't gay and wanted to declare that to fans.
4. He himself decided he wanted to put an end to the gay jokes regardless of his sexuality.
Although he could be gay, he is still closeted in a fairly homophobic country(understatement tbh, but I don't want to generalize). Fans should always respect boundaries when they get the chance to interact, that's all I'm going to say.
3. the answer is 3.

there are 4 male idols that if someone says theyre straight im just going to assume theyre trolling.
jokwon, key, sehun, ten
i think key is pan, ten is straight, sehun is asexual and jokwon is gay.
but see, even though i personally believe ten is straight, i am open to him being gay/having zero attraction to women. if he did or said something that wasn't in the context of goofing off with his bandmates/queerbaiting (which thus far has been every single "gay" interaction), then yeah, i'd say he likes men.
on the other hand, you think someone is trolling or taking the piss for suggesting he's straight. that's very odd. odd how you could be so sure of someone's orientation. based on this, it seems to me that ten being gay is more about you and your feelings than how he actually identifies.
ten could get on insta live right now and talk about how much he loves pussy and you and others like you wouldn't believe it, because you're a simple kpop fan. you live in a fantasy world where you will stop at nothing to feed your narrative. so if/when ten does have a dating scandal with a female or just straight up puts all the gay talk to rest, you can simply say it's a coverup or he's lying because "homophobia". what a convenient way to speak over someone. for what? for a gay kink? that's embarrassing and sad.
anyway, it's clear that this thread hasn't evolved in close to a decade, lol. i won't waste time here any longer. but just remember: lgbt+ folk are a minority and that doesn't change just because it's kpop. the odds of someone being straight are greater than them being gay, statistically speaking.
and ten is a het.

interesting how you want to stop talking about the things that might suggest ten is attracted to women but seem to be okay with people declaring he's gay based on jokes between friends. and you don't think you have some kind of ulterior motive. huh.
also, nice video. but ally ten is just ally ten.

him saying that he felt he made a fool out of himself proves that he's aware of what he's doing because it's an act. like everyone else who queerbaits in nct are acting or doing it for shits and giggles. he is quite literally acknowledging how out of control he was and he felt dumb for that. the video which makes him embarrassed because he's doing the most, is one of the videos fans use as "evidence". meanwhile ten's saying "yeah i'm an idiot don't watch that shit", lol. like...how much more clear can it be.

yes i will def watch a vid of how gay ten is, made by a teen girl who fetishizes gay men and wants her idol to be gay because that's a turn on for her. totally not delusional and problematic at all. but have a good night~

Dancing with Lisa (BP)
https://onehallyu.com/topic/441565-nct-ten-blackpinks-lisa-couple-dance/
As I am not here to convince you that ten is gay or even sehun for that matter, I do think you need a bit more evidence in your arguments regarding this forums topic. Otherwise your comments will be seen like you are trolling this site.
but no one has presented evidence that he likes men sexually and not women. that's the point. your idea of evidence is posting photos of him with his friends and him dancing with another idol...the thing he gets paid to do. so what exactly was your post trying to prove or disprove? that he's not shy/introverted? well take that up with ten because he's the one who says it.
btw, introverts and people who are reclusive types can have friends. being friendless is not what being an introvert means. and MANY artists/singers/actors have introverted personalities. so again...what did you disprove.
1 minute ago, Lollitta said:LOL. you have basically just contradicted yourself. you used something from a scripted variety show as receipt and now you say this.

May I ask where do you get the idea that Ten is shy? From his predebut pictures with his former female classmates to super friendly behaviour with other SM female idols, he has never shown an itch of fear for the opposite sex.
I am not that familiar with NCT, however ten is gayest boy I have ever seen in K-pop and he is proud of it.
uh, ten has called himself shy and an introvert several times over the years...
i don't know why people think the way an idol acts when they're being recorded on camera is the way they are when they're alone, or with friends, or with strangers. ten (& yangyang) has hermit-like tendencies. something fans keep ignoring because on camera they're chatty and chaotic. also i didn't say he fears women. it's different. it's more like a social thing. like an anxiety or a nervousness.
when he was on HTS, someone (i forget the name of the dude) asked him if he'd ever danced with a girl before. the way he answered "no, i never have" in conjunction with his body language indicated that he knew what was next: he was going to have to dance with a girl. he knew it, and the whole atmosphere changed. his talking became short and you could physically see him going inward, into himself, clinging onto the pillow laying on his lap. the whole transaction was strange and just further solidified my belief that ten likes women, but he's weird about it.
idk. there's a lot going on with ten emotionally and psychologically. i just think it's a bit deeper than what meets the eye.
1 minute ago, Lollitta said:wait...so you think ten and sehun, two of the MOST OBVIOUS gay men in kpop, are het????? so which kpop idols do you think are gay then?????
i don't care to talk about sehun these days. i mean i still don't think he likes men sexually but it's whatevs.
about ten, that's just the thing. it's...really not obvious. i don't think a man telling gay jokes makes him a gay man, especially when the whole damn group loves to queerbait. these men in nct literally find it comical to do "gay" shit.
i also wanna say that, like i was telling the person above, some idols are like night and day. the ten we see on variety shows or in interviews is not the same ten we see on instagram live or bubble. they're two different people.

i remember after wayv shot their exercise video, the one where ten was making gay jokes left and right and even got in position for xiaojun and handed him hand sanitizer as if it were lube, he had a video call with a fan. the fan said she watched that exercise video recently and ten got super embarrassed. he told her not to watch it because looking back, he felt like he made a fool out of himself. so i mean, this kinda indicates that he's aware of how silly he looks and he's literally doing it to be provocative.
it's similar to the infamous "i like sticky things in my mouth" or whatever the line was, with a sly ass smile. when taeyong didn't give him the reaction he wanted, ten broke character and said "it was a joke".

i thought this was a new thread and the other was archived? but yeah, like 6 yrs ago i would post about sehun a lot.

hey everyone, i'm new to the thread. can we talk about ten from nct for a sec?
ten is my ult, and for years now it’s been perplexing to me how so many people think he's gay. he's never pinged me, and as much as i try and look for things that might suggest he's one of us (lgbt+)...i'm just not seeing it. really really not seeing it.
based on what i've seen and things ten has said, he's very timid around women and feels more comfortable with men. and although he prefers the company of men, he's not sexually attracted to them. he literally farted in his ballet class because he was so nervous being around girls, and he had a real breakdown on hit the stage because he had to do skinship with a woman, and he blatantly said he was too shy to do it. (instead of touching her, he hovered his hand over her body like the raging virgin he is. yes, virgin.)
you see, ten's mentioned how he's never had a girlfriend, and i believe that, but i don't think it's because he's gay but because he's truly an introverted and bashful person, but even more so and to an extreme degree around women. it's almost like he's socially awkward when it comes to the opposite sex.
for example, everyone has seen the video of him reacting to that HTS performance, and when the dancers are being explicit, ten has a visible reaction. 95% of people are saying it's because he's not here for that "het shit", like he's so disgusted by straights that he has to look away? like he hasn't seen straight people before? yeah no. i'm not buying that actually. in fact it read very differently to me. when the female dancer sticks her ass in the air, ten looks down, then away. this looks more like the reaction of a man who's never felt the touch of a woman and doesn't know what to do/feels sheepish, like he just can't face it head on, and less of a "disgusted" reaction.
however, i see that a lot of people base him being gay around his interactions with his members as opposed to his interactions with women. so as for him "flirting" with his members, well, if you know ten then you'd know that he has a provocative personality sometimes and enjoys cornering people. he’s like jungwoo in the sense of literally saying the most uncomfortable things to his members because he KNOWS it makes them uncomfortable. ten can be a dick ass troll, and not just in a flirtatious way either. in addition, ten’s very selective with who he jokes around with and the way he jokes around with them. for example, the things he has said to taeyong or johnny would never be said to people like kun or xiaojun or mark. that’s because he knows what to say to certain members.
anyway, i just wanted to know what y'all thought about my assessment. and does anyone else here think he's straight? (sorry, i'm sure this has been discussed before but there's 3000+ pages and i couldn't figure out how to search for a specific term.)

Which male idols do you think are gay?
in Celebrity News & Gossip
Posted · Edited by Regina
yeah that's a false and hugely blanketed statement about something that's way more nuanced and complex, like obviously koreans understand and believe in homosexuality and think it exists, they're just more prejudiced about it and people there are less invested in amplifying gay voices and culture compared to westerners. this is very different from being "programmed" into thinking it's not real and with all due respect you sound dumb for thinking that
it's possible that exo could be homophobic or feel a type of way about sehun but realistically they'd probably bully him behind the scenes and make his life hell that way which is what every idol group does when there's an outcast member. to think they'd play with something like a member being exposed as gay which could affect their image, their bag AND sm's bag is a very unserious take. i promise you koreans are a lot more rational than what ya'll take them for
we already established what they meant by saying he isn't interested in girls, it's a common way of saying you or someone has no interest in dating. the use of the word "girl" is not meant to be taken literally here like "he has no interest in females" okay. it's just about relationships and again both men and women will say this when they aren't concerned with or aren't looking for a partner
i don't know why you take things idols say so fucking literally like you've never heard of jokes, never heard of people reading a script, never heard of queer baiting or fan service. male idols say cringey romantic things about the same sex all the time and it's a completely normal thing and none of them take it as an actual sexual exclamation or advance the way non-koreans would. you might see something as sus or think there's "no hetero explanation" but that difference in culture is literally the reason why western kpop fans think everybody is gay, the k industry is predominantly queer or the percentage of mlm/wlw idols is higher than it actually is. stop thinking everything is serious all the time and stop denying cultural differences ya dunce
