Anything is possible with YG honestly. I didn't feel like YG liked Gon from watching the show, however what if his family put in some pressure and threatened to sue yg for the mix9 mess? YG might've caved it just to avoid lawsuit.

    Thank youuu

  2. Hello!! yes let's support him. I really believe he'll be debuting.ย

    ย

One thing I just want to speculate about.... and it's something i've talked to my friend about but... i wonder if YG will debut another group with the leftover trainees next year. I know people are saying YG will have too many groups but Winner will start going to the military this year and YG lost Epik High and PSY already and BB won't be OT5 for a while too (With Seungri going to military now). I don't see why not? and hopefully YG hires alot more staff to accomodate all the new groups.ย

    ย

but anyways, I was thinking of the lineup and I REALLY like this one:

    ย

    Yoonbin

    Yoshinori

    Doyoung

    Jihoonย

    Yunggyuย

    Keitaย

    Mashiho

    ย

That's 7 members. 3 japanese and 4 korean. It will be SUCH a strong group vocally AND rapper wise with total visuals. I would totally stan immediately. It has my faves Yoonbin Mashi and Jihoon as well as other 4 i realllly likeย

    ย

Wow I would instantly stan this lineupย ahmagahplz.png

  3. since he's active on social media, he probably wont :( the fact that he left YG (he confirmed it on IG live) is probably the reason why one of the trainees training in Japan got pulled for the Korean debut group

    ย

and i think the vocal coach went on vacation to Japan and linked up with him!

I see... Just kinda sucks to see him miss out if YG does make a Japanese group when he's been with Yedam and co. for so long, but if he's still happy then good for him!ย

YG Treasure J, Japan debut: a conspiracy and rumor
    ย

DISCLAIMER: I already posted this in the YGTB Thread too!

    ย

Ok first let me mention that ever since the semi finals this is all that's been on my mind lol Keita stans were going through ITรขโ€žยข

    ย

I wrote this like a week ago, btw.

Some insider news was translated today mentioning YG's future plans of branching out internationally, also mentioning the preparations of debuting a local group (YGTB). Someone translated a part of it, it basically said that the Japanese trainees were on YG Treasure Box to gain recognition, next to the possibility of debuting in the Korean group itself. I'll put the source below. Given the context of the article (talking about Korean agencies making advancement in various international markets, such as Chinese group debuts), some people interpreted it as a Japanese group being possible (rumors about this have been floating around since the beginning of the show).

Think about this: Keita and Mashiho are the longest running Japanese YG trainees. They joined in 2013. You know who else joined YG in 2013? Noa Kazama, except he trained in Korea. If Noa, Keita and Mashiho all joined YG in 2013 and only Noa trained in Korea, clearly YG had something else in mind for Keita and Mashiho. Age is not a factor in this because Noa was 13 years old at the time. Trainees are usually given a 2 years trainee contract; why would YG keep Keita and Mashiho around for at least 3 contracts if they did not have any plan in mind for them? This while they were still accepting new trainees. If they did not see Keita or Mashiho as valuable, they wouldn't have kept them around when there were new trainees joining, especially not when they have an ace trainee training in Korea as for their Korean debut group.

    ย

Team J aren't the only YG Japan trainees, there are the three little kids but there were also a few in their 2018 clips that seemed to be around the same age as Team J. I mentioned that because, there was a story/rumors going around that Asahi joined YG in Korea, before being sent to YG Japan. According to that person Asahi flew over to Korea to audition for YG and passed, and he trained with Team B first but was brought to Japan because Treasure J lacked a member compared to the other teams. I went back to check Team B/J videos and it kinda adds up that he did indeed join YG in Korea first. You can see him in old Treasure B practice videos but those videos include the two trainees who were kicked out of YG on camera in episode one (and replaced by Jihoon and Yoonbin). The show started to be filmed like 5? months ahead of it's pilot date, so Asahi was sent to YG Japan within a month of training in Korea.

    ย

Here's the thing, though, If YG needed to "fill" a spot in Team J because it lacked a member compared to the other teams, why wouldn't he just get another Japanese trainee, since there were more at the time anyway? With more training experience than Asahi, too. Why did Noa train in Korea for years when the rest of the Japanese trainees were in YG Japan? I really can't think of any logical reason for this. Why did the Japanese trainees only start learning Korean in 2018, when they all joined between 2013 and 2017? I forgot who, but they mentioned this on the show. And Yoshinori is their best Korean speaker, and even he blanks out every now and then on conversational level. What were the Japanese trainees since 2013 for, if YG had a Korean team with a Japanese member already?

    ย

    ย

YG's plans probably just fell apart when Raesung and Noa left, and he's trying to fill Noa's spot by getting one or two of the Japanese trainees in his Korean group. Asahi training in Korea was pointless, because YG is preparing debut group this year and Asahi is still behind on dance skills, presence and expressions, he couldn't have been filling Noa's spot to win the favor of Japanese fans, so YG needed someone else to do that. Also think about this: there are 7 Japanese trainees on the show and the only one that got pushed by the editors is Haruto. YG wanted to push for Haruto in the first place, who is the youngest in Team J since the rest are all 2000/2001 liners. YG probably never expected Mashiho to become as popular as he did, he never even got that push from the editors (they never showed Mashiho's audition tape when they have for Haruto countless times and Keita had his shown as well).

    ย

An iKONIC who doesn't watch or care about YGTB, attended iKON's dome concerts on the 22nd and 23rd of December. She mentioned that Team J were in a promo clip for YG Japan auditions with all their names listed during iKON's dome concerts. This was while YGTB was already halfway through the show. Introducing Team J to the crowd? They're still looking for more trainees despite having 3 kid trainees. Future plans?

    ย

Team J were featured in a Japanese magazine. Why would YG only promote them without including some other YGTB trainees if this was solely to gather attention for the Korean debut group?

    ย

Also, Team J getting recognition on a Korean survival show is good for YG. YG made the show available to be followed by the whole world. Japanese subs are always out before the English subs. Maybe they were trying to get the already existing Japanese KPOP fans' attention, so they keep an eye out for Treasure J. Even if the Japanese debut group reaches kpop-group-level recognition and fandom, it's enough for [dome] touring. Plus, Japanese KPOP fans accept whatever appearance KPOP groups make in Japan. Johnny's blocks boy groups from appearing on TV (two non-Johnny's group made TV appearances for the first time last year), but YG sends their Korean groups to for example Abema TV. He could promote the Japanese group the same way as the Korean groups are promoted, just with a bigger target audience. Since the group would be managed by YG, they can also use platforms like V App to air shows for fans.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Hmmm what are the odds of Noa joining again? I think I remember seeing something about a YG trainer and Noa?ย

  5. So investors have a say in this but they said no to Mashiho who's obviously going to bring them mad yen from Japan? I... just don't understand.

    ย

Also is the V-live special thing pre-recorded? If so that was quite strange because I read the tweet of fan seeing Mashiho after the final and he looked happy, even dancing around.

No it was regarding the Hyunsuk vs Yoonbin thing, I have no idea about Mashiho...ย
