Yas I'm expecting an upbeat velvet as their title track for The Velvet too. I think they'll stick to their neo-soul base to their tracks but I'm pretty sure there'll be a couple uptempo songs in the velvet album by mixing different genres to whatever they have as base. Like they included some velvety red tracks in The Red. Whenever that may be... or whatever their next comeback is. As long as they give us some quality stuff like ICC EP and The Red.

Seems like a lot of you are doubting SM will actually give us a full-length velvet album, The Velvet, but I think differently. If SM didn't plan on putting effort into building the Velvet side, they wouldn't even have named the group Red Velvet in the first place. SM really, really cares a lot about the details and concept building, as said by their staff in numbers of interviews. If they gave us a Red, they'll give us a Velvet. It's even been confirmed by Wendy, Joy, and an SM staff several times. They've been preparing this album along with The Red. It's been expected from the beginning that the crowd will prefer the Red side of the group since it's more "mainstream," at least to the Koreans. Case in point, they've been doing very well with the Red songs like Happiness, ICC, Dumb Dumb, and even Oh Boy. But on the other hand, a completely different set of people have been showing lots of interest towards their Velvet side. Automatic has been thoroughly mentioned and discussed by a lot of the people who have deep interest and/or are actually from the music, arts, and film industry. For instance, Verbal Jint, and many other hiphop artists, journalists, MV directors, have been mentioning and praising Automatic and The Red(especially tracks like Time Slip and Cool World, which are the two tracks we think are the closest to velvet), etc. We can only wait till it comes out, but I think that their Velvet side will target a whole different group of people. *EDIT: typos.

I wouldn't be disappointed if they didn't come back with The Velvet. They prolly have a high chance of coming back with a mini before The Velvet, but I feel like there's still a chance they may comeback with The Velvet since they've been prepping this album preparing and finishing The Red. If it took them from then all the way to now to finish up, couldn't it perhaps be a full-length album instead of a mini? Iono honestly, I would be happy with either one, but would be a bit more happier to finally understand their Velvet spectrum.

Surprisingly it's not as bad as I expected, but the Korean RV fans are kinda on the angry side. Not towards Yeri; she's got no fault, but to SM. They're also scared that they might keep on adding and that the group might be in a "rotation" form, which means some of the members can be "graduating" and leaving the group. But that's not true and it won't happen so no worries about that. But for the most part people are saying that Yeri's pretty and that she looks like Boa... And it seems like a lot of the people are interested in the whole story concept behind RV lol

Seems like Yeri is the last one to be added to the group from what I hear. Yeri was a part of the "consideration set" when RV was forming for a debut so she practiced with the members for a good amount of time. I don't know if Lee Sooman decided to add her because the younger girl group she was supposed to debut with got flopped for another good 2~3 years OR because of the concept SM set for RV. There's a whole big story about their concept people are getting out of the Happiness teaser images and the MV (kind of like EXO's debut teaser story thing and the meaning of KAI's name and stuff). So it could be that they were planning this even before Happiness or something more recent. There's two different sayings as for the reason why she had to be added so I can't really confirm on that but this is so far what I got from the people who are connected to [an] SM employee. They were all saying the same things: there isn't going to be another add-on to the group and RV is going to be a main girl group they're gonna focus on promoting.

Yeri's from California? Wait where did this come from? She speaks English? I heard she was casted in 2009 but she was too young so she entered SM in 2011 after a wait... Can anyone tell me where this info came from?

I don't know if I can translate every and all of the interviews but if someone asks a particular part or if I find an awkward part or something. Or I can take some requests. So like from yesterday's interview, the part where Joy talks about Wendy and Irene being cute would be more like: Joy: Even this morning. Wendy unnie and Irene unnie were running ahead of us fooling around and they were so cute. Both of them being small and all [small meaning in heights and physically in general]. Wendy: Unnie [irene] said she was cold, so I tried to warm her up with my coat but she just kept on playing around. Ait, just take it [just put it on to make yourself warm]. I thought this was super cute. Wendy kun being gentle to Irene x)

Hey everyone. I've been following this thread along from the beginning but technically new here since I just joined OH. Never been active in any of the international k-pop sites but here seems like a good place to start. I know they weren't translated here but It seems like the interview translations are kinda off... I speak fluent Korean so hope I can help out when it comes to mistranslations and quick translations. It saddens me to see wrong translations sometimes leading to unnecessary image detractions and giving people wrong ideas...
