  1. I wish them both good luck and hope this will be an interesting drama. Although now more popular dramas about doctors, lawyers, police ... but judging by all her musicals, series and soshi concepts, Seohyun shines more like an elegant, aristocratic lady than the girl next door

  2. New drama!!!💕 After become hot topic with her role and acting ability in JTBC's 2-part short drama , Seohyun reportedly will be the lead cast of new JTBC drama "Private Life''!😍

"The upcoming drama is about a con artist who unintentionally gets involved in private matters on a national scale and competes against massive corporations. Seohyun has received the offer to play Cha Joo Eun, who reflects the sorrows of ordinary people living in Korea. She grew up learning con artist skills from her parents, who have committed fraud in order to survive". “Private Life” is scheduled to air in the second half of 2020.

  3. Seohyun officially signs with new agency 'Namoo Actors', home to Ji Sung, Park Min Young, Shin Seukyung, Lee Joon Gi, Moon Geun Young: "We will support Seohyun, who has high potential not only as a singer but also as an actress, in both ways to make her acting passion and talent blossomed"

She is scored a singer’s contract from an traditional acting giant. y’all can’t even spell influence.

That was the longest negotiation ever!! it started late 2017. thankful to the people behind the agency bc they never gave up until a a favourable decision is reached

I think her film and drama is the entrance ticket to the agency "Namoo actors". If you look at the first year of their actors, this is usually 2 projects. Hope they will give her a great projects, since they wanted her so much

Is this the first time she is the last?

She was the first (#36) last month with the MC and red carpet. But this month she only had these cute airport articles. The calm before the storm?

    [TRANS] Seohyun "The Star" Magazine

Full Interview November-December 2018 'Winter Special' Issue

Q: This time <The Star> photoshoot concept was Winter Paradise. How was it?
A: My favorite color is white, so I was really happy I could shoot in an all-over white space. It’s the first time doing a white concept from beginning to end, it was fresh and fascinating (laugh).

Q: Not long ago you had your own fan meeting. The feelings were probably different.
A: It was my first fan meeting in 11 years so while preparing I was really fluttery. I had a lot of worries about what kind of appearance to show to fans. Songs I sang 10 years ago without chorus during Girls’ Generation activities, I even sang by myself beginning to end.

Q: Do you have any memorable episodes from your fan meeting?
A: This time there was a Kimbap-making corner with fans. Wrapping kimbap, I had time to converse, and it was a truly meaningful time with fans directly.

Q: Now rather than a singer, your image has become reminiscent of an actor. When a singer sings, and when an actor acts, the emotional line of immersion it seems would be different.
A: I don’t think it’s much different. Whether music or acting it always starts with myself. However the job of an actor is to build another personality through acting, so because of that aspect it is a little different.

Q: Recently in MBC drama <Time/Shigan>, in the role of Seol Jihyun, your acting beyond sadness and joy was impressive. I saw a new appearance of Seohyun as an actress. Were there any points that were difficult while acting?
A: Acting is always difficult. Because I have to absorb and express the life of a person, I feel that extent of responsibility. Also when acting, there are many expressions of emotion both big and small. From being happy, crying, torn apart, several times a day feelings go up and down. So that is why I’m careful most to controlling my emotions.

Q: In this work particularly there were a lot of toxic tears. Intense tearful acting seems would be difficult. Is there any know-how?
A: When I truly immerse in the situation and let go it flows out. If you think about other things to cry, the emotion breaks and you yourself feel awkward.

    Q: A most memorable project?
A: In any case the project I finished this time is the most memorable one. I expended a lot of energy, in tears almost the entire time, so it seems I will remember it for a long time.

Q: Do you an event or time that was a turning point in your acting career?
A: Through this work I eased my thirst for acting a little. Because amidst simultaneous activity in singing and musicals, I did not have enough time to pour into acting. However in this work I tried to live only as the role of “Seol Jihyunâ€. I took almost no other schedules (laugh).

Q: Where do you get know-how or inspiration for acting immersion?
A: It’s most important that I become that role at once. In order to do that I must go through a process of filling in parts that are not in the script myself. If it’s a high school student, what was her home environment like? What are her habits? How did she spend her childhood? I must personally assign these details to express the character in three dimensions, so I turn into that character right.

Q: A role there is greed for or a role you really want to try?
A: My personality is on the animated and cheerful side. I became mentally depressed while playing this character because I was in tears all the time. Now if I act a sweet or bright role like a romcom or melo*, I think it would be healing. One must take on various roles. I think that is an actor’s fate.
(*Note “melo†= often used in concext of a sentimental romance rather than simply “sad†story)

Q: Something memorable you learned when challenging yourself because of a role?
A: I always learn with every project. In this work I learned how to cook. In the previous one I learned action. My action teacher calls me an ace. I guess I have talent in what I do with my body (laugh).

Q: When thinking of Seohyun, we can’t miss out Girls’ Generation. What does “Girls’ Generation†mean to you?
A: We were together during life’s brightest youth/being together during the brightest youth of our lives. An insperable companionship for life and real family. Furthermore, when we are apart, there is a more affectionate and precious feeling when we see each other.

Q: Girls Generation members often meet/You often meet Girls’ Generation members. There is probably always a lot to say when you meet after a long time. What kind of conversations do you share?
A: I have been busy recently so I don’t see them often, but we talk in the chat room daily. Also we talk without pretense between us, so we give each other objective feedback.

Q: As singer Seohyun, what is your style working with music?
A: I’m a really scrutinous style (haha). Once immersed, I will not leave the recording studio until I am satisfied. Most others go 40-50 minutes and rest, I take almost three hours at least.

Q: Of the albums you participated in, is there a song you hold most dearly?
A: I am fond of my solo album itself. This is because it the album that reflects my opinon the most. Writing, composition, song selection, there is nothing that did not go through my hands. To put it simply, I feel it’s a work my story remains in (laugh).

Q: To do acting and singing activities in the future it seems would require stamina support. Health care, body care, is there something you do to maintain or protect it? We are also curious about your exercise and eating habits.
A: I don’t think there’s only one thing. I do aerobics steadily, and take care to eat nutriously. Also rather than instant food, I make an effort to mainly eat Korean food. I have to absolutely eat rice.

Q: If there was a modifier before your name, you would like to be called “(Blank) Seohyunâ€
A: Humane Seohyun / Personality Seohyun (*Note ì¸ê°„ì ì¸ translates literally to “humane/humanistic/human-like†but is read rather as someone with a lot personal charm or an appealing personality/sense of self. Korean fans found her reply cute and witty, so context is closer to “Personality Seohyunâ€).

Q: You debuted as a teen and now you are already in your late twenties. In that time there must be a lot that changed. What was the biggest change? O rather, what would you like to change?
A: I gained space/ease for my mind/heart. In the past I was obsessed with the idea of doing well and lived fiercely/strenuously in every moment. Self-stringent, I was a tormentive style. When I think about it now, why did I do it like that? Yet on the other hand, I think because of those times I set my standard for living so I have no regrets.

Q: We are curious if there is fashion style Seohyun is particularly interested in or like wearing.
A: I normally wear a casual style. I enjoy wearing jeans and t-shirts mainly. When I’m working I wear a lot of feminine clothes. Of course, depending on circumstances, I sometimes wear clothes that don’t suit my taste (laugh).

Q: Skincare, makeup secrets, what is your personal beauty style?
A: Home care is the most important. I do go to the dermatologist too, but when I can’t go because there are a lot of schedules, I absolutely do one pack (mask) per day. I choose a pack according to my skin condition. I don’t usually try to do makeup well.

Q: What is Seohyun’s usual everyday life like?
A: Exceedingly ordinary. I take my dog for a walk often. I like to look at nature so I go to the Han River, or I like to go to the park while listening to music.

    Q: Have you cried lately?
A: Perhaps because I was too fortunate/cried a lot during the drama, my tear glands have dried. I have not cried recently (laugh).

Q: What kind of person is ordinary Seohyun in her late 20s?
A: In the past I used to separate my ordinary self from the entertainer, now it seems Seohyun and Seo Juhyun are merging into one.

Q: You’re famous for reading a lot of books. Is there a book that left an impression or one you are reading recently?
A: Rather than reading a lot of books, I’m reading the same books over over and over. I feel if you keep your hands working through the same book, you learn the parts worth changing your life. These days I’m reading <Hector and the Search for Happiness>, I’m carrying it today too (laugh).

Q: The public would say Seohyun has righteous and good character. What do you yourself think are the characteristics of Seohyun and Seo Juhyun? We are curious if there is a difference, or it is the same.
A: They are the same, but I don’t have many opportunities to show my real self so it seems others think or wonder if it’s different. The people around me usually tell me I’m really funny. I have a lot of mischievousness (laugh).

Q: What are you strengths and weaknesses?
A: I’m good at mind control. I try to find something to be happy about even in difficult circumstances. There were a lot of hardships big and small when I wanted to give up, I thought “how do I get through this?â€, then “if I have to endure this anyway, let’s think positivelyâ€. When I changed the train of my thoughts, the difficult moments passed soon. Although it’s not yet perfected, I grasped the wisdom in how to flip switches (laugh).

Q: 2018 is almost over. Is there something you really want to do or achieve this year?
A: This is really a romantic thought. I want to walk around the streets of New York at night with no thoughts, just listening to Christmas carols. I think I would feel good just strolling.

Q: When you look back on the year 2018, what do you think you did well, was unfortunate, or have regrets towards?
A: I have no regrets. Rather, it is a year I want to commend myself. I learned a lot through my work and gained several life experiences

Q: Do you have any upcoming plans for Christmas? Anyone you would like to spend it with?
A: I want to be with my family. I want to cook delicious food for my parents and spend a small slice of ordinary life together.

Q: You are of enough age to have interest in love. A personal romantic holiday dream. What kind do you have?
A: If I have a boyfriend, I want to walk down the street hand in hand. But that is only possible if I am in a public relationship (laugh)

Q: What would be your New Year’s wish be on January 1st, 2019?
A: I wish each day could be happy. And I also do a lot of projects.

Q: A dream you want to achieve in the future?
A: It may be a faraway dream, but I want to win a prize at the Cannes Film Festival. I will work hard until that dream comes true. I promised to go with my hardworking staff/staff that suffers for me (laugh). I want to take better care of the people around me too

Q: Please greet the <The Star> readers once again.
A: <The Star> readers, there is not much time left in the year. I hope you finish the remainder of 2018 happy and healthy. I will see you in good form in the future. Please look forward to it. Thank you

  6. Tbh all I care about is the mbc awards styling ,she has to be on point so that people don't take their eyes away from her and then she will be talk of the awards that day

She has an amazing body, she’s tall, has good proportions and it's real, no fake pads. so she's able to pull off almost whatever she wearing

she deserves better than 'snooze fest' f shapeless-nightdresses-clones like this, when she looks like a pregnant 40 year old woman

  7. fix her teeth???????????????????????

Her two front teeth protrude forward and these gaps on the side, like a Su..i before. All these little things are very noticeable in the drama. I'm wondering why she still has not fixed it, all other soshi did it a long time ago. For actors on screen, their smile and eyes are the most inviting things that bring the audience in. Actors and actresses have all had work done on their teeth to achieve that perfect smile, they are realise just how important an attractive impeccable "Hollywood smile". It's not something serious, but just helps to look better on the screen if she wants to be an actress
