There is a clear reason why LGBT youth are having the issues they're having, so change really can happen for them and it really can get better. But can it really get better for others where the cause of their illness isn't so clear?

What's really odd, is that for the past week I've been playing my Whitney death song, the song that popped into my head the moment I heard she had died. And then I thought of the best remix of that song. I'm glad that you're able to talk about this now. It shows you've progressed. But going back to the whole "it gets better" thing... That phrase started trending to help LGBT youth stop killing themselves. The feelings that these kids have is quite specific and comes from being closeted and / or in an environment where you're not in control. The whole "it gets better" thing is to show these kids that once they grow up, they can move away and have a fabulous life where their queerness is accepted and celebrated. Why is it being applied to other things?

It's funny you mention Lady Bird, because the day after I saw CMBYN, I went to see God's Own Country and at first went to the wrong theater, where they were showing Lady Bird. Jonathan Anderson has been hyping God's Own Country as his favorite movie of the year on Instagram, so I went to go see it and OMG... It's like the antidote to CMBYN. Still... a lot of emotions afterward... I think I may actually like it more out of the two films.

Same. I don't get the superhero movies. Funny enough, I've actually been going to the movies more this year. In the past few months I've seen Blade Runner 2049, BPM, and God's Own Country. There's actually a lot of good gay movies this year. When the young people don't suck, they're fine. KPop fans are just very rarely fine.
