The technology part just reminded me of the Japanese handover ceremony from Rio. The Japanese ceremony will probably be a continuation of the handover ceremony, seeing as how some of the people who did that (including my fave Ringo) are in charge of the opening and closing ceremonies.

Yes. Everything is new to them because they're pretty much always new.

A big part of it is them being young. The KPop fans of 5 years ago are largely gone, replaced by another young group that will be gone in a few years, leading to the cycle repeating.
