I'm reminded now of an interview Ringo did after the Rio closing ceremony: “Up to a certain point in the process, the project team for the flag-handover ceremony was very much haunted by such stereotypes as ninja, samurai and geisha. “The problem is that these things are nowhere to be found in real life in today’s Tokyo when foreigners come here to see them. They would be a false representation. “Besides, stereotypes are perceived as lazy, and giving people what we think they expect of us is likely to end up with us only embarrassing ourselves. “What I consider the true charms of Japan are perseverance, curiosity and physical ability, as well as the creativity and ingenuity that reside within a healthy body and mind. “For example, there’s a basic spirit of not making people wait that goes back hundreds of years and manifests itself in the punctuality of trains and buses today--this is something we should be proud of. That’s Tokyo style--doing things swiftly. “I sense perhaps that these traits are what lie behind the so-called ninja magic we tend to think foreigners hope to see. “So, I wanted to present Japan’s ‘ninja’ skills without resorting to using a character in ninja costume for the ceremony. http://www.asahi.com/ajw/articles/AJ201708270005.html

The technology part just reminded me of the Japanese handover ceremony from Rio. The Japanese ceremony will probably be a continuation of the handover ceremony, seeing as how some of the people who did that (including my fave Ringo) are in charge of the opening and closing ceremonies.

Off to Paris! It's nice to see a gay movie with a happy ending.
-
Yes. Everything is new to them because they're pretty much always new.
-
A big part of it is them being young. The KPop fans of 5 years ago are largely gone, replaced by another young group that will be gone in a few years, leading to the cycle repeating.

I don't. Taemin doesn't own dancing in warehouse.

Hmm, probably somewhere. I also said: I forget that not everyone has the same experiences as a gay man in his 30s.

What a cute bottoming anthem!

OMG, I was just talking about them the other day because this was stuck in my head: Songs like this are why I couldn't take KPop's retro concepts. There were so many British acts doing them in the years before. And then that led to me talking about how this sounds like a Girls Aloud song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHF7qL1juNc

I have went to see more movies in the past 3 months than I have in about a decade. I loved it!
