KPop is a cycle, with older acts / fans dropping act and being replaced by newer acts / fans. You're not alone. It's a fandom thing more than a public thing. BTS did well because of their fandom, not because of them themselves.

Well it does seem like the show is just a means of making JPop look bad, but then you have Japanese artist fans who will then say that Japanese idols are untalented anyway, hence why they're idols and not artists, which leads to KPop fans saying don't compare idols and artists even though they see JPop as just idols, even though artists are more popular.
