Unfortunately this story is being buried again.
The interviewer says that the part in the interview where Koki Maeda confirms Johnny was sleeping w/ his trainees has been removed by request. [x]

Yes, he asked me to do it. But the screenshot is everywhere now though...

The story is getting some attention in Japinan now. Nobody has come forward in decades. A group of boys came forward anonymously in 1999. The last one to come forward under his own name was in 1996. There was another in the late 80s. And now Koki is #3.

The thing that pisses me off now is that people are getting mad at him for outting Johnny as gay. That isn't the thing to be mad about!

ARAMA Japan held an interview with former 7 MEN Samurai member Koki Maeda discussing various topics relating to Johnny's entertainment. The most notable moment of the interview came when they asked him about Johnny's sexual abuse allegations. Maeda explained that there were Johnny's Jr members who hoped to sleep with Kitagawa so that they could debut, and that he had slept with some of the Jrs.

Johnny Kitagawa sexually abusing his artists has long been an open secret in the entertainment industry. In the 80s and 90s multiple former trainees shared their stories of sexual abuse but mainstream media has not dared touch the subject for fear of getting blacklisted by Johnny's & Associates. Even now it is incredibly rare to see Johnny's talent mention the issue. Kitagawa died in 2019.

The full interview can be found on ARAMA Japan:

I have not been here in so long, but thanks for posting the interview!

Hello... I don't know if I'm in the right place but is anyone here a fan of Sakanaction and if so, can you point me in the right direction of a central thread for them? I would like to get connected to more fans and their subreddit is pretty much dead! Also, I have been trying to figure out if there's any possibility in seeing them live.. but I suppose I should wait until someone tells me I'm in the right or wrong place. pls and ty

I'm a fan, and they don't have a central thread. Yeah, they're not an act that's constantly active, so there's not going to be a constant stream of fan activity on the English-language side.

I saw them live a year ago yesterday in Saitama. They were selling tickets last summer to their international fanbase on their site. There were a few dozen international fans at the concert I went to, all sat in one section. Funny enough, I ended up sitting between two other Americans, who are also on a concert spree across Japan like myself.

Umm, Google? I feel like I've been saying this on this series of sites since I first started here in 2011. It's like nobody has ever heard of Bilibili. It's like people think YouTube is the only site that has videos.

  4. Taichi was my favorite artist of last year and had my favorite album of that year as well. He's my favorite artist of this year too. It's rare for someone to be back to back like that for me. I really like his new album, and his EP earlier this year was top notch.

I liked him before, but then I saw him live last year in Osaka and it really just went to love for me.

This was actually a big weekend for him because he was on two music shows, which is the first time he's ever been on any as far as I know:

Still can't believe he's not as popular as Yonezu Kenshi or Suda Masaki. His music is so much better.

     flavor of love wtf GIF

He lacks the sappiness of Kenshi or the actor crossover of Masaki.

Ikr! I discovered him when I watched 'Run with the Wind' anime last year (please everyone check that anime is really good). He made the two ending songs and they are beautiful! I checked the rest of his music and I love it! He is so underrated 😞

    "Reset" is a great song!

I see, but why do they keep their 90s and 00s MVs under their own rights and refusing to upload them offically that bands having their contacts expires is no fair. I desired to litsen to the Yuya Matsushita - Trust Me, which it had a MV and it was available somewhere on illegal/unlincesed sites there, but Yuya Matsushita's MV from pre-singing with Teichiku and while he was at Sony contract is certainly no fair.

It would be great if they made their older and obscure MVs more accesible, there are more older stuff that J-pop fans would love to litsen to.

The thing is that there is no real incentive to upload those videos. The labels probably don't think there are people who want to see those videos. Yuya was a flop, hence why Sony dropped him. "Who would want to see a forgetten flop's videos?", is probably what Sony thinks.
