  1. A (possibly relevant) story: Back in the earlier days of A/Pink, there were years (from 2012 to about 2015-2016) where international fans got upset a lot about the amount of lines/time in the center Namj00 got. She's the 2nd best singer AND 2nd best dancer in the group, and we couldn't understand why she only had a few verse lines that were usually delivered at the side of the formation. Finally she went on KOMS and revealed there that she had massive stage fright due to bad comments at the beginning of her career. Her company and her group had been trying to persuade her to take more prominent singing and dancing parts in their songs FOR YEARS and she had always turned them down because she was afraid, but had felt bad because it had always upset fans. So there's sometimes more going on than fans realize. Otherwise, cool song, really love the MV. I expect the song will be an acquired taste for a lot of people, just because the structure doesn't fit with a standard pop song at all, but I think I-dle will have a much better career long term if they're willing to take risks. There are way too many girl groups stuck in musical ruts because they're too afraid to deviate from their style that's already accepted by the general public and/or fanbase. And Korea seems to like it, judging by the fact that it slowly rose up the Melon chart all evening.
  2. First off, accidentally downvoted you. Really sorry! I think with Minhyuk dropping on the 15th, the first teaser release (unless Cube decides to drop a teaser schedule) will be 12 AM the 16th. They don't seem to like teasing more than one artist at once. Let's hope they're quality and create some noise, since we aren't going to have much time.
  3. Ep 4 preview is out! and lol at some guy asking Elkie out
  4. Cube had a ton of in-house composers you could commonly see on b-sides and in CLC and Hyun@'s title tracks: BigSancho, Eden, Ferdy, Son Youngjin, Jo Seongho and a couple others I'd have to look back at tracklists to remember. BigSancho was the first to announce his leaving (at the beginning of May) and the rest of them announced within a month or two afterwards. Since Cube is focusing on self-produced idols, it makes sense they left. They weren't going to have enough work to do. A lot of them have now formed Mospick, and although they still work with Cube (mospick was on PTG's latest mini), Cube no longer has first rights to songs. A lot of this is speculation (I don't know the details of composer's contracts with Cube), but we do know: 1. The composers CLC usually works with on title tracks left in May/June, around the time they were teasing the comeback. 2. Late June/ early July they stopped teasing it. 3. Produce definitely went to the Cube composers for songs (because Rumor was a thing) So its definitely possible that there was a fluke situation where Cube had never really bought the song because it was in-house at first, and then after mospick left, mnet/stone asked to buy the song for iz0ne and could pay more. If Cube had sold the song themselves, I feel like they would have had a replacement title track ready and it wouldn't have been delayed so long. Just speculation-- we'll probably never know the whole story-- but it makes a lot more sense than any of the shit that's going around twitter ('Cube gave up on CLC!'- no, stupid, they planned a variety show in May when PTG and I-dle were blowing up, or 'Cube needs money!'-- nope, best financial year in years). I'm worried about CLC's future (PTG's too, if I'm being honest), but this really does just seem like a weird set of circumstances and not an indicator of CLC's status. Hoping they get to keep the concept with a banger of a track and get 'CLC's year' next year.
  5. This. Replied beneath a tweet about this that now has 11K retweets with the link to CLC's reality show... 4500 people have seen it, according to twitter analytics, but only 25 people so far have actually clicked on the link. It's hypocrites who are virtue signaling/ posturing for attention. And then people say you're "dRiviNG aWaY FaNS" when you point out that that kind of attention is worthless. The mospick crowd left Cube in late May/early June, around the same time pd48 started. Considering that CLC/ Cube were prepared to promote it, it seems possible st0ne/msnake bought it out from mospick under cube's nose when they got Rumor for pd48 (which also sounded like a CLC song). That would explain why CLC didn't come back-- they suddenly didn't have a title song. It makes as much or more sense as cube suddenly deciding to cancel the comeback and let the song go. It's a solid song (and I'm biased and believe the CLC version adds oomph that I found missing), but the chorus is pretty weak. I regret the loss of the concept (sexy dance, kind of sensual and feminine) more since it's something that I've wanted for CLC for a long time, but hopefully they'll keep the concept and find a song with a stronger chorus. Either way, it won't hurt CLC to have a good version of the song leaked. I'll just use it to promote their variety Edit for dbl post
  6. Not to be that stan, but I would be extremely skeptical of statements like that that come unsourced from international L**na stans. Or does someone have a source? All I can find on twitter is people repeating it. Not to mention A) there were multiple ifan accounts there, for both CLC and I-dle who were sitting together, and none of them mentioned anything about CLC's fans or lack thereof. Like, this account just posted pics of CLC's food. An i-dle account only said that they were sitting together as united cube, and nothing about CLC not having fans. Just seems strange, and B) It seems weird that Cube would prepare 150 lunchboxes when even the bigger fandoms are usually allowed only 100 fans max into the venue, and the smaller from 25-75. Like, what exactly were they planning to do with those 50-100 extra lunches? I don't know, I would just be skeptical. On a brighter note, I really think they might be next in line for a comeback. I know that PTG and Hy*na both are scheduled for this fall, but I think Cube may wait a bit until people get bored with the mess. -
  7. The clothing style and hair looks like Forgotten Era/ Late 70s Early 80s (only more pink). So... retro disco. Of course, Apink's concept photos often don't match the general aesthetic of the actual MV.
  8. Originally, BTOB was supposed to comeback around May 28th. They pushed it back to June 11th to give Idle an extra two weeks and to not have overlapping promotions. BTOB's a top group and has no need to promote more than 3-4 weeks. That would have originally put CLC around June 24th, which is still 2nd quarter/ 1st half 2018. Triple H is supposedly coming back soon as well and also not mentioned in the tweet. Currently, the comeback schedule as far as it's been hinted (depending on how 3H fits in, but they're a unit and probably not going to be more than 2 weeks, 3 max and may overlap) probably puts CLC comeback on July 2, 9, 16 or 23, with the 9th and 16th being the most likely dates.
  9. Couple of things: Just pointing out- 4 min's disbandment was due to contract expiration, not Cube pulling the plug. CLC has 3 1/2 years before they need to worry about that. The thing that bugged me the worst about the twitter post/thread was all the bullshit about 'canceling their comeback' which is, at this point, completely unfounded. I'm sure Yeeun is worried about CLC and her future. I'm pretty sure she would be worried about it regardless of anything I-DLE is or isn't doing. Cheshires have got to ignore the noise, because frankly, it comes down to this: if CLC continues to improve, get better results/opportunities, Cube will probably continue pushing them, because the girls themselves are good assets. Most well-run businesses don't abandon a product they think has potential just because another one is currently more successful. That's bad fandom logic. In fact, the success of the other groups are more likely to provide opportunities for CLC, because Cube will have more negotiating power, and convince more people to check CLC out. I know a lot of other people have said it in this thread, but: focusing on CLC and bragging about their talents and successes will attract far more fans than a mess about how sad they are. Yeeun is a regular MC. That's fucking awesome. We should be talking about that, that she's really good at it, that she calmed down Soyeon when she was nervous. No one wants to play for the losing team, so we've got to shut out all the noise and focus on promoting CLC's talent, individual activities and other things they've got going that can make them a success. Cube didn't debut bad trainees randomly in the middle of the likes of 4m, Ap1nk (who count in this case, they were Cube trainees), and Idle. They met the same standards. It's time we made that clear.
  10. Dingo is owned by iHQ, which is also Cube's parent company. Since they have a ton of content and reach a wide variety of people, this is one of Cube/ iHQ's ways of promoting them to the general public using company power.
  11. Yep, this. The reason why their song is charting higher every day is because people are still discovering it... full public awareness is probably still weeks away. As for variety, for people new to Cube, unlike most of the other larger idol companies in SK, they don't have company ownership of variety shows or formal business relationships to broadcast companies, so they have to wait for invitations, which only come with public popularity. (Cube is a subsidiary of iHQ and D'Live, currently-- which are companies for drama/movie productions and alternative media content (non broadcast tv, they actually have some sort of relationship with Netflix), both of which their artists feature on a lot. Dingo Music is also a subsidiary, which is why they're making a lot of videos with the girls.) I'm sure Weekly Idol and other shows do want them on, they're very, very popular with the public for a rookie group (PTG also), but shows usually schedule appearances weeks in advance and they literally came of out nowhere a week ago. Look for more stuff towards the end or after the end of music broadcast promotions.
  12. Hourly/Real Time Chart: 26 (at 8 AM KST today) Daily: 61, yesterday 10 May
  13. Gaon numbers are just the month of April... Hanteo numbers are through May 10. We won't really be able to compare the numbers until the end of May. Downloads at #29 is really, really good. They're a good indicator of public popularity. While I'm at it, a new youtube channel with subs- They have the YSS interviews (with the animated ears) and a couple of otherwise unsubbed broadcasts.
  14. Minnie joined end of 2014, shortly before CLC debuted. To add: Shuhua for sure was from the same 2016 Taiwan audition as Lai Guanlin.
  15. Joohyun's got a 4 year age gap with Shuhua and was probably sent to the Unit because she was debut ready but too young to debut with the other girls. According to their last financial report, Cube's already signed her (she's listed as a solo artist currently like Guanlin and Seonho). I would expect her to eventually debut solo, maybe before joining a group like Soyeon, maybe not.
  16. Just dropping by to say, in advance of all the bullshit comparisons and fake 'concern' from idiots that will probably come out later today... I believe in CLC and I know they can be successful. Thank you for coming to my talk.
  17. Yep, this. A song that doesn't instantly top charts (most songs have their highest charting position/ largest download day/largest stream day in the first few days after release) but slowly rises days/weeks/months after it is released and reaches a high peak charting position much later than most songs. Cr@yon P*p's Bar Bar Bar and EX/D's Up and Down are other idol examples of the past few years. It's really rare for a boy group (I can't really think of any recent examples) because boy groups tend to have a hard time charting well unless they're respected musically and popular with the public (YG boy groups, BT*B, Bl*ck B are common examples) or have a massive fanbase who can stream them in (everyone knows who these are). Even if they don't rise any more (I think they will, they've trended hard on a lot of sites today and a lot of the general public is checking them out now, plus they're promoting for 2 extra weeks to help it along) what they have done, rising 400 spots into the top 100 as an unknown boygroup, is INSANE. That's why people were going crazy over it, even though it was in the 90s, because they don't have an extremely famous group name or a massive fanbase, and managed to do it on the strength of their song/performance. Okay, end of Ted Talk, sorry. Just really really excited Edit for double post
  18. So every girl gets her own color, the same way everyone in CLC has a representative fruit? They've been consistently using the same colors for each girl throughout the teasers with the background in the concept images, and in the letters of their names for the concept images yesterday. It's: Idle- Purple Miyeon- Black/White Minnie- Blue Soojin- Orange Red Soyeon- Pink Yuqi- Green Shuhua- Yellow
  19. Only fansign they've had since April 9 was the Cube cafe one last sunday, and entrance into that one was based on a draw from purchase of the album at the Tentastic concert. Basically, fans in Korea are waiting for fansign announcements and aren't buying albums, and the low numbers are people randomly purchasing. I think they may be trying to restock the album before holding more fansigns, since they doubled first week sales this time and probably didn't print much more than 20-25k, since that was their previous sales high. (This is all speculation based on fansigns/ sales numbers and I don't have verification, but it makes logical sense).
  20. Abu Dhabi. They performed in front of a bunch of major officials from both countries, including Korea's president and his wife. Kind of a big deal. (:
  21. Now, to the important questions: Is this the album where Cube will finally release Cupcake?
  22. Screenshot definitely indicates her (if we're both looking at the written naver post?) 맴찬미 is AOA Chanmi (AOA on keyboard using the korean alphabet is 맴); CLC, as most know, is 칯. Could absolutely be made up though, fake line ups circulate all the time. Post also names (among others) Sixteen's Minyoung and former SM Rookies Hina, Lee Younseo from Produce/ Ex Cube trainee and a girl from idol school.
