Well, oops here it is.
I honestly think YG should just call it a day for their "debut promos"... That is, if you can really call this period "promotions" at all tbh. I can't say I'm not disappointed but as a longtime fan of YG artists, I saw it from a mile away when he decided to go with this type of promo. AKA the album split way. I already knew this was not gonna end well lol. It showed YG's overconfidence in iKON despite them being rookies but I guess it also shows how much he's betting on them as the next YG frontrunners.
Now, no one, and I really do mean no one, in YG except for BIGBANG can really pull off the split promo type without losing momentum/public interest in their songs halfway through the release period. With iKON, it's pretty obvious what he's trying to do at this point. He wasn't expecting My Type's overwhelming success at all and I'm pretty sure My Type is not the sound he wants iKON to be known for. He didn't want it to be their representative song but neither Rhythm Ta nor Airplane came close to the pre-release's success despite Rhythm Ta faring pretty well and getting dance covers/parodies left and right.
It's just the effect of the split release thing. Despite what basic thots /force/ themselves to believe, iKON's announced debut DID make a lot of buzz. That whole hype and anticipation then became the basis for My Type's massive, right-out-of-the-gate success. But that anticipation didn't make it to the rest of the songs lol. I honestly believed though that if YG had pushed for more Rhythm Ta performances, it would've become a sleeper hit. It's the type of song that grows on you the more you listen to it and it's the type of song that is better seen live. But YG is so stuck with the mindset of "No!! Song needs to have massive success during first hour!!!", he decides to postpone the second half album which was supposed to be out NOVEMBER, and releases Apology and Anthem, with Apology having the goal of "surpassing" My Type. YG's actual words in an interview, not mine. He was running his mouth all over the place about how Apology is gonna be iKON's biggest hit, I'm sure some of you remember his words . But..... guess what... Apology and Anthem is doing worse than Rhythm Ta and Airplane.....
At this point, this whole debut promo just feels like "Quick!! We gotta release something better than My Type!!!". It's not the songs' quality that's the problem here YG you dumbfuck, deciding to have ROOKIES split their releases was already a super dumb idea, because 99% of the time, it kills hype and interest but ALSO barely having any tv appearances to further promote releases is even dumber. Enough. Just call it a day. My Type is still their most successful song and that's that. It's better to just scrap the whole idea of the "second half" because I'm sure they're still scrambling to find /that/ song that will once again be a runner to "surpass" My Type's success which is sighhhhhhhs. YG should've released the entire album in one go and promote for an entire month, instead of wasting so much damn time.
I know people are still expecting that "rescheduling" but I'd rather it not come at all. They're going to be touring Japan from January to March so even if the album does get rescheduled later on, we would still be getting the same shitty ass promos not to mention the boys are going to be actual zombies....so I'd rather they call it a day for this debut era and have a comeback in 2016 with hopefully, less shittier promos than this. Start anew. Let iKON rest and refresh your ideas. Because it didn't seem like they were thinking much when planning this period anyways. Also, it's not as if they came out empty-handed. Let's think back to what they've accomplished shall we?

iKON is the second male idol group with the most melon roof hits (20) after GodBang.
After GodBang's 7 consecutive songs, iKON's My Type comes at 8th for most downloaded songs for boy groups, beating out seniors Exo and Shinee.
MMA and MAMA rookie of the year. Probably the rest of the upcoming award shows as well.
Will take the Gaon Song of the Month award for September with My Type during upcoming Gaon Chart Awards. (Infinity Challenge songs are exempted by all award shows)
Filled Olympic Gymnastics Arena for their /debut/ concert. 11k tickets up for sale all sold. 2k given away to sponsors.
If this is considered leaving empty-handed for some people, they're really deluding themselves. Stop dragging out iKON's debut promos and call it a day. Instead of squeezing in the second half during the last weeks of December. Let the members go on variety. Spread the group brand out until the hectic schedule starting on January till March.
