  1. For the Taniguchi version, I found the reaction to be roughly around 7:20 ahead of the video. Once you get the rough timing down, you can adjust by her miming certain moves from the video or her claps, etc when performances end. Commercials are around 1 minute long, so when they happen, hit pause on video and watch timer for 1 minute to pass or skip 1 minute ahead. These times are based around her youtube reaction.
  2. My initial guess would be Eunbi would pair with Chaewon. Both are Woollim girls, Chaewons last ranking was inside the top 30, and she just had a impressive episode.
  3. That might be part of it. It could be that the ratings dropped because this was Japanese contestant heavy in terms of performers. Some people might have just never tuned in because of that, so they never saw the Korean heavy edit this episode received. Obviously Japan and Korea have a bad history and if we're talking just government mud slinging, it's not even history but a bad present.
  4. I don't really understand where this "Korean trainees are boring, but the Japanese trainees are fun" thing is coming from. Outside of Noe and Chiyori (who I really hope makes it) I don't really see them doing anything different besides the fact that they're Japanese. I can understand how, since that's different from the previous season, it's more new, but I don't think that makes them more interesting in and of itself compared to the Korean trainees. This is coming from someone who hasn't seen the first 2 seasons. I find them all interesting. Also, what I really looking forward to is the reality show about them moving into a house together like i.o.i. did. Watching those interactions should be really fun.
  5. People complaing about Gyuri, but she is the main vocal and has the drama with the peek a boo incident, so I think it makes a lot of sense. I'm just happy that Miyu got such a kind edit from Mnet. Shows how kind she is and am glad Mnet didn't hide it. Same for Myao. It was short and would have liked more, but stood out to me.
  6. Wow just saw ITNW performance and I didn’t know Kirin could also sing like that. Talk about a all rounder. It seems like she has the visuals, presence, dance, and vocals down. I like her, but wouldn’t call her my favorite member, yet I would be totally happy if she ends up being the center. I think she really suits it and would be good for the group.
  7. Thanks for all of the replies. I knew there are mixed people who have/are in groups. Maybe it's because they tend to be domestic market focused that there are no full blooded foreigners in jpop groups. Kind of sad though. Maybe in the future.
  8. Thanks, I couldn’t really think of any, but I wasn’t sure and haven’t really kept up with akb for a long time now. What about jpop in other groups?
  9. Mnet is so dirty with hiding those ranks. This is my first time watching a produce series. I had heard about their famous editing/tactics, but seeing it first hand is so annoying. Happy that kirin made the ranks, but that means someone was moved out. Wonder who it was? It has me worried about Miyu, and Gaeun. Miyu because of the lack of screen time. It feels like mnet really is trying to drop her popularity and her ranking did lower in ep 5. Gaeun because so many people here don't seem to like her or say that she only ranked so highly because she's more like every ones #2, not #1. I know I shouldn't be so influenced by what people on a forum who can't vote say, yet here it is lol. Also, not sure if someone posted this already or not, but here's today's AKB48 Showroom reaction.
  10. All this group is boring talk. Maybe there's just a big difference in what the audience wants. It's nice if things are fun to watch, but for me personally, I want a really good group (full of my faves of course) over getting lots of drama. The show is only gonna be for 12 episodes, but the group is gonna go on for 2.5 years. Having a predictable top 5 doesn't really matter to me with regards to that.
  11. It's been used both ways and I don't know if there really is a right answer since finding the equivalent from one writing language to another can be rough. Her name in hangul is "ê°€ì€". Separately, the "ㄱ" is more closely related to the "G" sound while the "ã…‹" is what I associated with the "K". Since it's written with the "ㄱ" one may assume in english it would be Ga-eun", but I feel like Korean to English spellings are odd with those transitions. For example "Kim" in hangul is "ê¹€" but that also is translated with a "K" instead of a "G". Kim has become widely used, but personally to my ears, when speaking Korean and dropping any English language type of influence, I feel like the correct way of speaking the name sounds closer to "Gim or Geam" instead of Kim. I guess that's my long winded way of saying "not sure" lol.
  12. This might be old for people, but saw a post about how Gaeun consistantly wrote letters for 5 years on the after school fancafe even though they only received around 30-70 views each. It seems like i-fans don't really like her or are unimpressed but I really hope she debuts. I like her and she seems so nice.
  13. So this is my first time really keeping up with the produce series. I know jpop places a big emphasis on the center position and I get what with this being a survival show, it does also, but I feel like in kpop, if they do have a center, I don't notice it. There doesn't seem to be nearly as much of a emphasis on it and I rarely think about it. If anything, it's the main vocal that get's the most lines and camera time. My question is, does the center thing relax a bit with the group once they debut or is it more along the lines of a Jpop group?
  14. It's just a guess, but I was thinking they could have just not voted for her because they knew she was popular and assumed other people would instead, so they wanted to pick someone else who could use the votes more. Maybe that was the general mind set for a lot of the audience, which somehow lead to her not getting voted much at all. This would be different from Sakura, who fans know is popular, but also know that she has a lot of haters, which could spur them to not rest on their laurels. Does seem pretty unfair, but probably what you were going to get when you put relatively unknown trainee's vs debuted and established members. Despite being Korean with a Korean only vote system, the trainee's might actually have a bigger hurdle then the 48 girls do.
  15. Are there any Japanese comment translations for the released fancams? Was particularly curious about their thoughts on Team 2's version of High Tension, since it's a Japanese song.
  16. I agree with both of your friends that Lovelyz songs can be a little flat. They should have more peaks to their songs, at least sometimes. I'm still waiting for a 2.0 to 1cm. It was upbeat, catchy, had a strong chorus, and some high notes. I feel like it was such a well made song and should have been the follow up title track to Ah-choo instead of Destiny. I feel like the 1, 2, punch of Ah-choo and 1cm would have cemented their popularity. I think even Lovelyz has said that during their concerts, 1cm is the song that fan singing seems to be loudest. I'm curious if those 2 friends of yours would like 1cm also. If you don't mind, do you think you could show them this clip? I'd like to hear what they think.
  17. jisoo: my depression has sunk to the end of the earth(/hit rock bottom). i have no one to talk to. i feel too bad/sorry to talk (about this) to the members. i'm telling you this story because i have no family. i think i'll need to be strong, so i'm pretending to be strong. This is sad and worrisome. People who laugh the most can also be the ones most depressed.
  18. Any information about the concert being available digitally? I tend to avoid physical items in general nowadays if possible.
  19. Jiae's expression when she found out that one guy was a real customer was so funny.
  20. Their shoes were pretty here. I think it's the first time I've seen them wear them. Also Jin taking selfies with fan phones at 5:35.
