He does care. He cares a lot, and that's why he has been trying so hard to put out as much music as he can, writing about his own struggles, trying different genres, and pushing his vocals. The latter was a mistake though, because he shouldn't push himself to sing in a range that isn't comfortable. But he will learn and improve with time. He didn't say that in this particular article but he is saying it all the time. This is not the full interview, and his quotes are not in the right context or order.

That comment was related to how he felt performing without a live audience. But that aside, there have always been soloists who focus more on the performances or those who focus more on the singing, and there is also those who do both very well, and those who improve with time and practice. Also, you're in your right to think he suits a group better than being a soloist, but he is actually doing great on his own and he is putting out really good music. You would know that if you actually loved Daniel. The problem here is that you just assumed something on your own. They are different artists, they do different things. But since you mentioned Taemin, I don't remember him being a great vocalist when he started, he improved with time. So just because Daniel isn't a gifted vocalist, doesn't mean he can't improve with time or that he isn't already great in other aspects, like songwriting, dancing and in general having a lot of passion for music. Also, I don't think it's right to judge an artist just based on 5-10 seconds of an endore. He has other live performances and 4 mini-albums you can check out at any time so you can do a better assessment of him. ----------------------------- Side note. As a fan, I do think he needs to improve his singing, but I also think it's unfair and wrong to judge and witch-hunt an idol over these encore for WEEKS, and who knows for how long more. Most comments in these posts aren't constructive criticism at all, but people just jumping on the bandwagon to be spiteful, insult him in othe ways, twist his words and diminish his whole work. Always masked as just "opinions."

Today is Daniel's 3rd anniversary since winning PD101 and I always get emotional remembering the moment he was announced as winner and when he walked up the pyramid stairs. It's been three years with mejor ups and downs, but thankfully mostly good things. I can't wait for that OST!

AOMG (mostly JP and Hoody) actually have some rnb and danceable songs too. Kind of like KARD's style, they have some songs in the tropical house genre. I really hope Daniel goes for this type of summer fun type of songs. I'm not into HEP-HAP at all. While I do enjoy some rapping songs with a more experimental sound, heavy hip-hop is just...and Daniel is not exactly SMTM type of rapper. Gosh, I pray for something public friendly for his debut at least. T_T

Daniel's taste in music is very diverse. He is not 100% into hiphop alone. It also happens that for breakdancing, the music used for this style is mostly hiphop. But Daniel is a dancer first before anything else, so I think he will do something that can emphasize that. Plus he must realize that it is his dancing what fans like the most and people often praise. Do you know if albums sales for music shows are only counted per the corresponding week, or overall sales also count? Because the album sales for the second week are very low compared to the first one, so it worries me albums sales points are not going to be good. M*no is doing better with digital and MV views also. We are winning Show Champion fan voting though, probably M Countdown too, but The Show is being a lot more competitive this week. I really wanted Wanna One to get 10 wins with "Spring Breeze" and maybe get the most cumulative music show wins this year, but it's probably not going to happen :(

I have so many emotions today. Melon gave us one of the best Wanna One performances and the best Daesang. But one of the highlights for me was Wanna One singing "Destiny". The backup track for the other songs was louder so it was difficult to heard their live, but their voices were so clear in this one. I was so impressed by Daniel's improvement. His growth as a singer and entertainer is constantly making me proud.
