  1. It's quite possible they have a stack of albums gifted to them and an employee took one hoping no one would notice
  2. Although it is wrong I think it's understandable when someone gets sad/heartbroken... I mean, we can't help feeling the way we do sometimes. What makes no sense is going from a fan to an anti, starting to hate someone you used to love just because they got a partner. It makes no sense and crosses the line.
  3. Both male and female backup dancers, yes! It looks interesting.
  4. One of the rare cases in which the person in this statement really does look young. He's handsome!
  5. Adding to the ones that were already mentioned, Tales of Zestiria Red Dead Redemption Death Stranding (it's a love it/hate it game, but I liked it!)
  6. "sleep in the same bed as your bias".... oh god.
  7. He looks great, but so far this is my least favorite set of teasers so far. They are all too good
  8. Two people mentioned it's a global problem of the entertainment industry as a whole. I agree. There are some aspect in what you said that specifically related to Korean culture, but many of them are found in American/Western pop culture as well. In the West women are also objectified a lot more, have their bodies controled a lot more. Western artists also have a pressure to abide to beauty standards and actively undergo surgical procedures in that direction. Underage artists are often under a lot of pressure/control from their agencies/companies. That said, I think it is prejudiced in itself to be against plastic surgery because "it's artificial". People shouldn't feel uncomfortable with their appearance because of beauty standards and feel forced to undergo plastic surgery because of that, true. But, if anyone feels like changing their appearance and do plastic surgery, it's their body and their choice. Calling their appearance "fake" because they were not born that way is just plain wrong. Also, it's not just because idols are "manufactured" that they're not artists? There are many western artists that do not compose their own music, there are many that do not sing well, but they are performers and being a performer is being an artist. Britney Spears is a classic example. She was undoubtly one of the biggest acts in 90s/00s but she didn't compose her own music and was not a very good live singers either. Yet nobody can deny her impact, the mark she left in pop culture, or how talented/captivating she was when performing. Claiming "artistic purity" is the only artistry acceptable would effectively mean tons of artists around the world should be denied that label. Overall, it is true pop culture as a whole is more focused on looks than in the "essence" of the product. Much of pop culture is just commercial. Pop culture, overall, isn't that deep. But there isn't a problem with that in itself imo. Not everything has to carry a deeper meaning. You can listen to pop music and to other genres at the same time...
  9. I know! Not saying they were in bad terms. But I never thought the three of them would be on the same show at the same time and interacting directly (instead of, for example, guests or panelists in a show that just sit next to each other but don't talk).
  10. There's a great chance companies agreed on what to say/staff wrote it/they just copied by hand, which would be why they sound so similar. A lot of things are scripted though, so it's nothing to be surprised about.
  11. Idol stuff generates more traffic (internationally). There have been many trendings hasthags about all the idols involved in the night out since the news were posted, almost non-stop, whereas for the nth room... there were some but not with the same energy. Ultimately it is a very domestic matter for which there is little use in the international community's envolvement. Unlike other issues, there is nothing international authorities can do about the nth room. If anything, it might even tarnish Korea's image, so I wouldn't be surprised if news channels were not making a huge effort into translating everything they can... It's not a subject they can completely ignore and post nothing about, but they surely are not covering it in English as in depth as they are doing in Korean.
  12. Most domestic affairs aren't translated, so it's just natural that international k-pop fans will mostly get access to k-pop news. There might be news channels that posts some stuff in English but they know their audience (=mostly k-pop fans) and, as serious as they may be, they still want to generate traffic. For anyone who's not from an English speaking country, just look at what is posted in English about the domestic affairs of your country and you'll see how limited the content is...
  13. No, it's not that old anti cafe that was anti-EXO as a whole. This is a specific cafe that claims to be representative of EXO-L ACE members (the official fanclub). It was created after Chen announced the pregnancy/wedding. They claim to speak for the official fanclub and their only goal is to kick him out of the group...
  14. It's the same 2~3k people every time, it's about the size of the anti ace cafe too... it's a shocking amount though. 3 thousand people who are dedicating their fandom life to hate someone...
  15. I haven't lost any of my parents yet but I imagine it must be heartbreaking. I'm so sorry for your loss. There is no right way to grieve. Don't feel guilty for not feeling sad all the time or for not thinking about him all the time. He wouldn't want that, first of all; but besides that, even though he was someone very important to you, your life is larger than his death, as it should. You should give yourself your own time to grieve... you dont have to rush it nor to extend it. Some people are able to overcome a loving one's passing faster, others take longer. It will get better. It always does. You can be sure of that. Even if the pain feels unbearable now, there will be a point in the future where you won't feel it as pungently anymore. It's hard, but you'll have to find a way to life through it...
  16. EXO has done that since SFY. I don't know if other SM acts do it as well but I think it's great, specially considering they are strong in physical sales
