I woke up surprised to see an update on Chen's Youtube channel. :lub: It's been sooooo long since he last uploaded. Heck, now that I think about it, this is the first time this year. Of course, it's to be expected what with him having a little baby at home now. I'm surprised he even went out to record for us. I hope he'll continue like he always has and won't push himself to record. We understand he's very busy these days. :chu: The cover itself was very nice. Always great to hear his voice. I'm not even upset that he still hasn't sang Good Night. Maybe one day. :rlytearpls:

Yes! It was so unexpected! And by the song choice... my interpretation is that he's trying to comfort us (aka his fans that are still by his side), although maybe he intended it as comfort for people in general (because of pandemics etc)... still... great song :rlytearpls:

  2. That's very nice!

It really shows how having a wide platform can be put to good use.

I'm really disappointed at how SM released no statement whatsoever. A few SM artists commented on it (BoA, Yesung, Yeri, as far as I've seen), but I feel like the company didn't really encourage them to release official statements as groups and obviously didn't release anything as a company. Their lack of vision (in many senses) is just...

  3. With this kind of comment, one can sort of get a feel of what kind of conservative mindset a lot of people still have in SK...

Nonetheless, I kind of agree with this one:

    2. I rather them educating those celebrities on stopping to use reggae hair and other cultural appropriation stuff than this. I know that this is a sad situation, but it's not like all celebrities overseas are donating either. I feel like donations should be coming from themselves, this is almost like forcing them to donate.

Educating someone is one thing, but forcing them to speak or to donate for a cause is just... not sincere. If they do it because they want to keep their fans it becomes monetized somehow.

I still don't understand that perhaps because I never thought of my fave as my future partner

Nowadays I don’t feel that way anymore either, but right when I got into kpop the thought of dating news terrified me. Not to the point I’d abandon my bias or anything like that; I didn’t consciously entertain the idea of actually getting together with my bias. But whenever I thought of them having a gf, it scared me for some reason. Idk why either but that seems to be a common thing with kpop fans... and companies encourage this kind of behavior (since it’s a type of very strong bonding).

  5. Even in the country I live around Growl era if you met someone who liked kpop the question wasn't "which group do you like" but "who's your EXO bias?" (although ofc people liked other groups too). I think internationally the members departure affected their popularity a lot (especially in Japan), but it's really incredible they managed to retain such a popularity with so many "scandals". I'm personally happy none of the comments mentioned Chen negatively :rlytearpls:
