Paris Match Actu International The men of the year 2018 Didier Deschamps Jamal Khashoggi Elon Musk The BTS group Nicolas Hulot . Their names are Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook. Since 2013, they have been forming the K-Pop BTS boys band, for Bangtan Boys or Bulletproof Boy Scouts. Their third album Love Yourself: Tear has taken the lead in many countries including the United States and their concert tour in Europe has caused a wind of madness never seen since... the Beatles. More than their music - a mix of jumping pop and R'N'B -, it is "their style" that stands out all over the world, androgynous and benevolent. Their success also confirms the South Korean and Japanese influence on world culture. . https://www.parismatch.com/Actu/International/Les-hommes-de-l-annee-2018-1597129?fbclid=IwAR1kACayBKp8cfD-JtbGMzRuLzeUaJPtawrLPUAx8-STiEVquB22f4_UxTw#utm_term=Autofeed&utm_medium=Social&xtor=CS2-14&utm_source=Twitter&Echobox=1546289660- 367,108 replies

BTS doc brings fans behind the scenes: ‘Burn the Stage’ shows the group strive to do their best as they tour the world http://koreajoongangdaily.joins.com/news/article/Article.aspx?aid=3055708&fbclid=IwAR2r7ZIqYbHXVgXqKxDVBQpCNblhxyctuPnp_bBdpps_XCWOh18TgqSL844 . It’s quite rare that a local documentary surpasses a Hollywood movie in ticket reservations. It’s even rarer to see a documentary about a K-pop group taking up screens at multiplexes across Korea. But boy band BTS has gotten used to going into uncharted territory and making new rules. On Thursday, the group made their debut on the silver screen with their documentary film “Burn the Stage: The Movie,†released in Korea as well as 40 other countries and regions around the world. As of Sunday, more than 100,000 tickets for “Burn the Stage: The Movie,†were reserved in advance, with the movie representing 26.8 percent of the total advance sale of film tickets - surpassing the reservations for the highly-anticipated Hollywood film “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald†(20.4 percent) - according to the Korean Film Council. “As soon as I watched the trailer, I just knew that it would be a great movie,†said Nur Fatin Yusrina Binti Yassin, a fan from Malaysia. “All of Malaysian ARMY is really proud of BTS.†Proving the hype, only a few seats remained for a 10 a.m. screening of the movie at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall, the theater chain’s flagship location in central Seoul, on the day of its release, when the Korea JoongAng Daily made a reservation on Nov. 9. The theater was crowded with BTS fans; people were taking photos in front of the movie poster and buying up BT21 (the series of characters the group make in collaboration with Line Friends) goods. The documentary, directed by Park Jun-soo and produced by the group’s agency, Big Hit Entertainment, and Camp Entertainment, is an extension of a YouTube series that goes by the same name, featuring interviews with the group and a behind-the-scenes look at “2017 BTS Live Trilogy Episode III: The Wings Tour.†The movie is a tribute to BTS fans, taking them along the tour, starting from Seoul and making stops in Chile, Brazil, the United States, Thailand, Australia, China, Taiwan and Japan. The members make it clear that in the end, none of these concerts would have taken place without the support from ARMY. Included in the movie are scenes of the members practicing on stage, exercising and producing music in their hotel rooms, eating chicken and ramen on the hotel floor while member Suga enjoys a glass of wine, having a barbecue party and making jokes with each other, showing the band is still a group of boys in their 20s. Throughout the film, the members admit that they are not perfect - on stage, they are successful K-pop stars, but behind the scenes, they are covered in sweat and bruises, and have to deal with the huge burden of performing better next time. One of their hardest moments is when their performance does not turn out to be how they wanted. But, they “keep on moving, for a future they have always dreamt of.†“I wish they could let go of some of their responsibilities and burden, and just enjoy their moments with the fans,†said Shin Kyung-ae, who has been a BTS fan for a year, after watching the movie. “One of the most touching scenes from the movie was when Jimin was lying down on the floor, exhausted after performing,†said Lee Joo-eun, a BTS fan since 2015. “But I know that he is more than perfect. I cried when I saw him suffer and care so much about each detail of his choreography.†According to Leo Seria, a fan from the Phillippines, the group’s success comes from their strong collaboration as a group. “They work as a group, as friends, as [one] family,†he said. “Every performance they [did,] they dedicated it to ARMY. I will always support them no matter what happens.†By the end of the movie, BTS fans at the theater were sad and overjoyed at the same time, proud about the group’s hard work. One fan was already anticipating the next movie, if there will be one, which she hoped to feature their 2018 “Love Yourself†world tour. “There were a lot of things that I haven’t been aware of concerning the members,†said Koo Won-jae, a student who has been in love with BTS for almost five years, after watching the movie. “I also realized how much support we (the fans) have been giving them until now. I could’ve paid more to watch this movie - that’s how great it was.†BY YEO YE-RIM [[email protected]]- 367,108 replies

Translation of a French article BTS In Paris: We Are Not Hysterical Fans . BTS concerts in Paris: memorable evenings It is October 21, 2018. Last night, the South Korean group BTS gave the last concert of a successful world tour in Paris. On occasion, thousands of fans came to Bercy to experience a magical evening. Magical, that moment was, the seven artists offering their fans the most beautiful thing they have: their passion. Magic, this evening was for all those fans who had come from all over France and Europe to meet the BTS. Magical, this date is and will remain for all these people. Magic, the presence of BTS in France. The moments of communion between artists and fans. Solidarity, the passion shared between fans, strangers who become friends, fanbases between fans. Magic, was this atmosphere, this harmony, this little bubble of happiness. Except the magic disappears. The magic disappears as soon as the concert is over, the fans (re)discover what the French media have in store for BTS and, in general, for K-pop. . French media and prejudices about K-pop It was following a report broadcast on the first national channel (TF1 to name but a few), yet another pejorative report, full of clichés painting a negative portrait of the Kpop in general and the fans, that I decided to write this post so that this kind of poor quality report would stop being broadcast. For you, the "K"-pop - I pronounce the "K" in the French way because it seems so difficult to pronounce it in the English way when we know that Anglicism, you are the first to be fond of it - is a world apart, an unknown, distant universe, coming from the mysterious eastern coasts. An exotic world that you do not know and, above all, that you refuse to know and recognize. For you, the Kpop is a parallel world, crazy, attracting marginal, crazy, misunderstood people. For you, all Kpop fans are "hysterical fans". Do you know the violence behind this expression? . No, we're not "hysterical fans" You journalists use the term "hysterical" several times. You are well aware of what people referred to as "hysterical" mean. "Hysterical fans." Crazy, crazy, excited women without any reason, logic or composure. This is the portrait you draw of Kpop fans by calling us "hysterical fans". The "hysteria" of Kpop, "The madness of Kpop", you can call it. It seems like listening to Kpop is a disease. Who are you to judge our musical tastes? Who are you to determine what should or should not be considered good music? Who are you to classify the Kpop in the category "low-level music, good only for fools to listen to? » Who are you to judge when we don't judge your musical preferences. You who write articles on Kpop, you may be listening to Charles Aznavour, Johnny Haliday, Pascal Obispo or Edith Piaf, Jean Ferrat like Jenifer or Matt Pokora... do we consider you as "hysterical"? Call a Kpop fan a "hysterical fan" is like assuming that classical music fans are conservative bourgeois and rap fans are gangsters from disadvantaged neighbourhoods, that rock is for rebels and reggae is for pot smokers. It is an insult based on prejudices fed by the closure of an already narrow mind. "The average age will be 12 years", "mainly young women", "The teenage audience is seduced as it has been seduced by the One Direction", "if your adolescence is far from you"... That's what you're reducing us to. . You have decreed that the Kpop was something bogus, something lame, something shouting, nasillarde, ridiculous and not deserving of the qualification of "music". And since it sucks, only young people - who have no wisdom about what kind of music is legitimate to listen to and broadcast - can listen to such nonsense. Youthful mistakes, you say... But who are you to infantilize us? To judge us with this paternalistic condescending look that our musical taste is not interesting? We are not 12 years old, we are not teenagers. Some fans have known Kpop for seven years, ten years, they are adults, some have become fans thanks to their children, their acquaintances, their friends, their colleagues at work... We are not children unable to reason, to think like a wise adult, nor are you, you are no more able to judge our musical preference. Stop reducing us to that cliché you popularized from the Kpop fan. You have made your own typical Kpop fan figure: between 12 and 18 years old, female and if possible Caucasian. Because to you, that's what a Kpop fan looks like. However, here is the reality. Kpop fans are multicultural, girl/boy/trans, heterogay-lesbian-bisexual, black, blue-white-red, Buddhist, atheist, Muslim, doctors, lawyers, architects, teachers, florists, salesmen, students, etc. and elderly of all ages. We are as diverse as this planet is, rich in different cultures and yet united by the same passion: music. And it is one of the riches of Kpop: its cultural diversity. Millions of fans who don't speak the same language as their bands, who don't even speak the same language as other fans... it's this spirit of Kpop fraternity that you're omitting under the guise of putting us all in your hysterical fan category. . In your eyes, we are brainless fangirls, who have no dignity and collapse into tears because they have crossed their "Idol". Behind this sexist and misogynistic judgment, you think we are weak because we cry at concerts, fan-meetings, comebacks, speeches etc... Yes, we cry! And crying means that we have emotions so strong mentally that our body expresses them in the form of tears, hot and warm, as are our feelings. It seems that crying is reserved for the weak in spirit, for those who are pitiful. Since when should one of the proofs of our humanity be synonymous with weakness and contempt? We are not crying because we are fools who are ecstatic about people to whom we may never speak. We cry because we feel joy, the purest and most sincere happiness. It is the happiness of fulfilling our dream, which sometimes took us a long time to accomplish. And that happiness is invaluable and does not deserve to be judged by dismissive people who are confused by social and cultural obscurantism. In 2018, toxic racism and masculinity still exist. . For you, Kpop's male artists necessarily have "androgynous looks". Because they are Asian men, you automatically consider them less "masculine", less worthy of corresponding to the category "male", to the archaic image you have of what a real man should be. Because they are Asian, they are necessarily effeminate, so you don't understand the attraction of "hysterical fans" for these boys (note that you always use the word "boy" and not "young men") "with androgynous looks". So it is 2018, it is time for you to understand that there is not a single image of a man just as there is not a single image of a woman. A man does not necessarily have to wear a three-day beard, look like Sébastien Chabal or Captain America to be considered a "handsome man". He can wear makeup, cry, wear pink and glitter, with monolithic eyes and be sexier than Brad Pitt. Stop ignoring the sex appeal of men from other ethnic groups than your own, stop putting your concepts of male beauty on representatives of other cultures. Stop imposing your world view and accept that cultural plurality reigns on this planet. Kpop fans don't like their stars just because they are "handsome, cute, flower boys"... the physical appearance is just a bonus. We love bands for their music, their personalities, what they bring out beyond their simple body envelope. The Kpop is not only used as a virtual masturbation as you would have us believe. We can enjoy something without something sexual being at stake. Just because a band is made up of handsome boys doesn't mean that fans, women and men alike, will ONLY join the band. It's so reductive and insulting to show such an image of Kpop fans. . . In 2018, the French media are not able to be open-minded without judging and despising what comes from outside You talk about Kpop in low praise terms, you denigrate Kpop artists, you insult Kpop fans without taking the time to really understand the reasons for this passion. You are embarking on pathetic reports, with almost no content quality, with the sole objective of showing the public the childish and pathetic image of the hysterical fans of the Kpop. In order to better put the opinion of the mass in your pocket and despise us more, you present the darkest facets of the Kpop. As if every industry didn't have its dark side: didn't your favourite artists ever touch drugs, alcohol? Did that stop you from listening to them? You present the Kpop as the most ridiculous and unattractive fad as you stop at your prejudices. You depict the Kpop as a world toxic to weird people, who create scenes of hysteria yet you were the first to take tickets to see the BTS. You were there to film the fans, to spy on them meanly in order to stab them better, to lower them to the level of hysterical fans. You accepted these tickets to criticize the BTSs sacrificing fans who really wanted to live the concert of their lives. . K-pop: you refuse to admit the real reasons why it is so successful You criticize Kpop and refuse to admit the real reasons why it is so successful. It's not all about marketing, smooth images, rhinestones and glitter. You criticize Kpop and its fans, knowingly ignoring that these same fans communicate in all languages and in languages that are not even their mother tongue. How can you close your eyes to this peaceful global movement? Because even if there are disagreements between fans for X or Y reasons, thanks to this communion, this peaceful agreement, there is a certain solidarity between fans all over the world. Public relations, diplomacy, respect for others and their culture... everything you need, we have it. I have seen friendships made thanks to Kpop, I have seen them solidify (there is nothing more beautiful than to share such an intense passion with your closest friends?), I saw suicidal people get up and find the taste for life, I saw people coming out of the most terrible depression regain confidence and faith in life, I saw people assume who they were, change their ways, I saw people who didn't know what to do with their lives find answers, I saw and I see happy people thanks to Kpop and that's all that matters. That's what's important and that's that YOU should have shown for the BTS concert and for all the upcoming Kpop concerts. . You should overcome prejudices, stop maintaining clichés, and show that Kpop succeeds in uniting people from all social, ethnic, sexual and national backgrounds. We alone, Kpop fans, are from the United Nations working for peace through the sharing of music. So instead of spreading generalities, clichés, open up culturally, get off your archaic pedestal and converse with this new generation who love Kpop. Stop talking about the negative and focus on the happiness, joy, love that Kpop brings (important elements especially when political, social, economic events tend to depress people). Praise texts that do not contain violence, that deal with important topics (depression, social and academic pressure, uncertainty about one's social and professional future, love and self-esteem), talk about the BTS discourse at the United Nations, the impact their success has on young people, the inspiration they generate... . Open your eyes and hearts, go beyond prejudices and listen with a fresh mind. And in case you still don't like the Kpop, don't write any articles or make reports to denigrate fans. Do not do anything. Or even better, consult experts, people who know Korea, Korean culture and Kpop. There are media in France whose objective is to promote and share Korean culture. Call them the next time you want to talk about Kpop without making us look like freaks. And listening to Kpop, doing covers, gathering for fan-meetings, going to concerts and having fun as if tomorrow didn't exist, is not a tare you should be ashamed of. We have the right to listen to what we want, to be who we want to be and above all, to be proud/proud to listen to Kpop. And it is not your dismissive articles or your negativity that will taint our world. A happy Kpop fan http://k-phenomen.com/2018/10/22/bts-a-paris-nous-ne-sommes-pas-des-fans-hysteriques/?fbclid=IwAR1l8cktqXfLfz1mRMSghlWbI0N6DXSk3Y1cbtvM1S-wHAHIoocZxI151k0- 367,108 replies

PERSO NOTE on the different votes to win BTS... . Some important, some not very important. In my opinion army's should focus more on really useful and important votes ( BBMA etc.). To always want to win BTS in all voting contests can prove counterproductive on the image of BTS and the army's. . You can vote but not in a state matter if BTS does not win in a contest that ultimately has no impact on the career of BTS As a reminder on the coffee fan there are +1 million members figure huge which will increase even more with time. Yes the army's are really very numerous what does not really leave room for the other fans of other bands especially the new ones... . I remind the army's that we too have been a little fandom so let's also respect others by giving them a chance to make themselves known We must not obsess about all the contests that offer votes where BTS is included. . BTS and ARMY's no longer have much to prove on this subject. Let's vote yes but let's also do it when it's really useful and important. pascal PS then each of you and free to do as he wants.- 367,108 replies

Hello, I am a French ARMY and I’m sending you this email to report an unacceptable behavior toward us, French ARMY and even European ARMYs wanting to attend BTS concert in Paris on October 2018. Today, we have witnessed something totally unfair: The general sale is tomorrow at 9 am but the Accor Hotel Arena, the concert hall where BTS will be performing, set up a pre selling of the tickets today morning that nobody was aware of. Only the people working with Accor Hotel and the people who have the Accor Hotel Privilege Card were allowed to buy tickets. This is unbelievably unfair and unacceptable. Everyone should have equal chances. We are confused as to why only a few selected people could access to 200 tickets before anyone else and why it was kept a secret to the public. The aggravating factor is that these tickets are now being resold at very excessive prices as you can see down below. Since BIG Hit made it clear that there should not be any presale of any kind, the Arena crossed a limit and actions should be taken regarding this issue that a lot of armys are disappointed about. Best regards.- 367,108 replies
