Previous gen stans just come off as insecure by constantly downplaying achievements/sales of the current generation groups. Records made by old groups are meant to be broken. And it's even sillier how ifans out of all people are talking about how idol groups from this generation don't have the same impact in Korea compared to previous generation groups; people that have never stepped foot in Korea or interacted with Korean society won't have a complete understanding of the current trends or how much of an impact idol groups have on Korean society/culture.

Medicore/below average songs by nugu groups get hyped up as masterpieces by ifans and then they say that Korea is "sleeping on them". Nah, the song is just bad

"If a non-big 3 group debuted/released ______ it would have flopped" isn't an unpopular opinion, it's a fact that big 3 groups/releases receive more attention. No point in getting rid of the Bashing Thread when people here are basically just masking their bashing as "unpopular" opinions

I hate the fact that kpop is becoming more popular with Westerners/The West - I miss when it was more of a niche genre

The power of ifandoms are over exaggerated by ifans. With the exception of a few groups, most groups tend to have a bigger kfanbase than an ifanbase. Kfans are the ones streaming on sites like Melon (and digitals are arguably one of the most, if not most important factors for a group), they're the ones that buy hundreds of albums each promo period to get into fansigns which subsequently raises physical album sales. So the fact that people have the audacity to say that kpop groups would be flopping without ifan support is mind boggling.

People here love generalizing Koreans based on Naver/Nate comments but when it comes to comments from a Japanese/Chinese site y'all say that they don't represent the whole country. Makes a lot of sense

Chengxiao missing a year of all WJSN related activities because of her solo schedules in China is infuriating. And on top of that, she couldn't even fully fulfill her role on Pajama Friends because of her China schedules. Why on earth is a member of a group that's now 3 years old having solo activities prioritized over group activities? It just makes me wish they'd announce that she's leaving the group

In case anyone was curious, I contacted a mod/admin regarding the status of the OP FWIW, I took ByulHarangBona's advice and PM'd Rinne asking if she could update the thread with the SMSY MV around a month ago. I never got a reply. Combined with the fact that I couldn't check when she was last active (cause it's set to private) + the fact her latest recent posts/activity were all 1 month+ old, I asked in the Ask a Mod Thread if it'd be possible to get a new OP since we're in the same situation as we were in with the original OP. I guess I was mistaken with the original OP being removed because I was under the impression that they were removed for inactivity and then a staff member was put in charge [because of issues with the previous OP]. The response I was given was that inactivity wasn't the reason for the removal and a staff member [DarkChaos] was put in charge because of previously mentioned issues and then it was passed over to Rinne. I also mentioned to the admin that I PM'd Rinne a month ago and was wondering if I could know when she was last active. I was told that she was last active on the 7th and furthermore, I was told that the OP does not have to be changed because someone requests it and that the OP can use their discretion to change it when they feel it's appropriate. So in short, we're gonna be stuck with the current layout for an indefinite amount of time + I asked how long the thread has to be under staff intervention - admin said it'll be until mod/admin team decides it's not necessary and that they don't have an exact timeframe for that

Hi! So the original WJSN thread OP was changed because they were inactive. If I'm remembering this correctly a staff member was put in charge instead of one of the users from the thread because there was some drama(?) over the OP [the original OP didn't want to give it up despite the fact that they were inactive and not updating the thread so they got in a fight with one of the users(?)]. So with that happening I understand why a staff member was made the OP instead. However, the current OP is inactive (just as inactive as the original OP that was eventually removed). Will we be able to get a new OP or will we be stuck with the current [inactive] OP? Thank you for your time :D
