I'm kinda over this whole discourse. everyone always repeats the same points and it all boils down to your idol oppa or unnie is not in a PR het relationship because not being in a public relationship is literally a part of their job vs BUT I WANT TO BELIEVE! Like I just find it so interesting how the argument is never that maybe some idol is closeted and wants to appear straight to his friends, family or maybe even to himself, the argument is always about the Management pulling strings Like the idea that somebody's oppar could for real be dating a woman cause he wants to believe that he can be attracted to women even though he's gay is still not appealing enough cause then the relationship is real and oppar is touching some nasty girl's nether regions. And IF PR relationships among idols exist, and that's a big if, still the number of gay men dating women for real would be faaaar greater and so there would be no justification to immediately jump to the Management doing PR narrative.

Ive now seen this video like 5 times, god i cant wait for their debut! Im really into the theme they are going for. The mix of dark and light themes without going full cutesy or like leather pants is quite refreshing (tho i do love those concepts too) The cave and sand (0:10-0:14) part did give me exo overdose flashbacks tho, if i turn off the music, quite nostalgic^^ But i do rlly feel bad for the idols like Ricky where their blond hair is part of their idol persona. I think Jiwoong and his company probably didnt know how the reaction would be towards him being a BL actors, they probably wanted to separate him from it in fear of the shit that could happened. But then he actually got famous for it and it wasnt really seen as a problem, and even more as something that drew people to him. He also doesnt seem like someone that is ashamed of it, i mean he recently was in Hollands MV, i think. Seems like a chill ally to me. So he probably saw no problem in it being something that people related to him and lean into it, once it was clear that in his case it wasnt used against him (in the same way queerness or implied queerness has and is being used against other contestants). It doesnt really have to be that he is ashamed of it or a bug breakup happened, the truth is that as much as it helped him it couldve also been used to shame him or spread rumors about him. And with BLs, a huge part of the promotional campaigns are creating immense amount of fanservice content, so even if they probably were friends i would take it with a huge grain of salt, its part of the contract really. Edit: also i mean i know the bar is on the floor with BL and kdrama but i think the least we could ask for is good chemistry and kissing. Its the actors jobs to do that. Its like if i used Timothy chalamets scenes with that dude in Call me by your name as reason for him being queer, its his job to make it look convincing.
