Hold up Regular price is 18500 won and reduced is 15600? That's a slightly more expensive right? I hope that means more than 10 songs (I looked it up on the same site and the current prices for Exodus are 17500 normal, 149000 reduced)

Ahhh yay I love her. She seems happy, so I'm happy for her!

that's so funny bc the group whose name I used is like the exact opposite of metal This is so interesting to me. I also thought D.O.'s pronunciation was the best, but saw some people saying Suho's was better. I figured that I may not be able to judge properly since I'm not native, but it never occurred to me that it may have been because I studied Spanish from a specific country (Mexico). It makes perfect sense that knowing different variations of Spanish would influence who you think had the best pronunciation.

did either of you buy both versions of the same person for the Exodus album? I know each member had 2 covers, but were the pictures inside also different? I only bought Xiumin's M and Lay's K, so I wasn't able to check myself. Oh, hi! & Thanks! I didn't think anyone would remember me

Oh my goodness. That zoom is crazy. I can see the hairs on his neck lol Omg I can't handle him! He's so manly and buff now, it's so attractive Xiumin is my UB but I realized one day that I reblog D.O. (along with Chanyeol and Sehun) way more than anyone else on Tumblr. He snuck up on me. ---------------------------------------------------------- Back to the comeback, have yall decided whose album(s) you're going to buy? (if they have multiple covers, which lbr, they probably will) I'm thinking of getting Xiumin, D.O. & Lay's, but I never want to buy more than one version of each cuz I'm stingy lol. I wish they were going to have K, M, and J versions then it would solve my problem. I feel like I'll also want Baekhyun & Chen's (really I want all of them) but I simply can't allow myself to buy that many albums Why did I have to start loving all of the members so much?? Life was easier when my only favorites were Xiumin & Lay lol

I didn't see this reply! I worked for an American branch of the company Aisin. And it wasn't really mostly Japanese. I wrote emails in Japanese and did Japanese to English translations, but I never had to speak Japanese. But I guess I was at N2 level (I got that cert right after I started working there). There are actually a lot outside of CA. I lived in a state in the South and there were still so many Japanese companies there. I didn't realize it until I googled it. If you're interested in seeing which other states usually have jobs you should join the Mr. Japanese job mailing list. I usually get emails from them a couple times a week & the jobs are all over the US. I can't answer the JET question from experience, but I've never head that startup living costs are too much. This article might help a little: https://sheilaburt.com/2013/11/12/transition-japan-your-apartment/ Now for other programs, I do think it can be a bigger factor. Like I know a girl who went outside of JET and she had problems at first because she didn't get paid right away.

The pay was 35K USD last time I applied. And from what I've heard, it's usually way more than enough for all the costs in Japan. Like, I've heard that most people are able to save up a lot of money while doing the JET program. For non JET ALTs, I've heard of them having some problems with money, depending on where they work. I worked at a Japanese company in the US! Surprisingly there are an incredible number of Japanese companies here that need Japanese speakers, even in states you wouldn't expect. I want to be a translator (not an interpreter though, idk if my spoken Japanese will ever be that good). It's much easier for me to get a job in the US doing translation because it doesn't require good speaking skills haha you should apply! People always say it's tough but I don't think it's much tougher than most applications. It's an online application, letters of recommendations, an essay & a transcript. But after you get accepted there is more stuff you have to do.

Best thing about living in LA is the concerts. Tori Kelly concert #2 is now checked off the list.

my bf knows I'm crazy about EXO, especially since I am constantly singing their songs/playing them around him. he even helped me get tickets for their concert. but I never fangirl (like while watching mvs) around him & he doesn't know I have a tumblr dedicated to them. that's too embarrassing for me lol

I may apply again this year, but I'd prefer to go with a better paying job if possible. Before I came to grad school I worked a job that was a pretty equivalent level to JET (it wasn't teaching English but it was the same pay, I used Japanese almost everyday, did translations, etc), so I will try to find something similar that pays more next time. I would like to do JET simply to be in Japan, but I'm not sure if it would be beneficial for me, career-wise. do you think you'll apply for it?
-
I would say that it's best to be around that level, but it's not required. Only "intermediate-level" Japanese is required, but if you're going to be working in a completely Japanese work environment it's always better to have a higher level. I specifically remember the words è‘¬å¼ and ç¶æŒ being on the article they had me read and those are N3 & N2 level words.
-
There are two separate positions you can apply for: ALT is just teaching English, while CIR (Coordinator of International Relations) works with the local (?) government and they do stuff like translating, interpreting, organizing events, sometimes teaching, etc. CIR requires really good Japanese & is extremely competitive. I got rejected for CIR (my speaking sucks), but I do know a couple people who got accepted and their Japanese is great.
