For me, the reason why I like reminiscing about 1st Gen and 2nd gen kpop idol days was because it was seriously fun and light hearted. I only know all these charts and stats and all these fandom wars in their ugly forms..in OH. Sure there were sad moments that tug my heart. Park Yong Hwa and Jung Da Bin's suicide did affected me as a fan. I always felt like some of my bias are asshole irl. *Shinhwa* If ok tbqh, it's not like I bought more than 1 album each promotion cycle. I just attend their concerts and buy an album if most of the discography interest me. Rl is stressful enough as it is. I don't need to feel anymore stress in my kpop bubble too. *** I don't really care about the lyrics in a song. Because the reason why I love kpop or Jpop song in the first place was their melody, beat was soothing to my ears in the first place. Translated lyrics are lost on me. Some local nuances are lost. And I am fine with it.

Reading some of the posts here as well be as those in the rant thread.....I wish for all of your pain to go away. @ops of this thread....you guys are awesome for providing a listening ear. But....who listens to u guys? I did got burnt out(multiple times tbqh) during my short stint at social work. So love remember to self-love. I just want to say my thoughts on the matter in general. You touched on some interesting points. I do have my own grievances about JYP and JYPe decisions on a few matters pertaining to my faves in the company. Firstly, it's actually not that easy to 'oust' JYP out of his own company. Yes he is no longer the CEO. But iirc, he is the biggest shareholder in JYPe. Iirc he mentioned it somewhere that he could be much richer but he refused to go down that path as he wants to ensure he retained the rights to alot of the decision making process within JYPe in spite it being a public listed company. Iirc he held about 16-20%?? shares within JYPe. Having 16% share holding within a public listed company may seemed risky to others. But not if those 16% comes with a bigger portion of voting rights. Like for example, every 1 share = 2 votes. He mentioned his (2nd wife) wife in an episode in Happy Together back in 2013. Source: So I am assuming Dispatch did their usual digging on his new wife back then and already found out about her family background (related to this cult leader) So to me..it kind of begets the question why revealed his wife's familial ties to that cult for the second time now? Iirc his wife's family ties was briefly mentioned back in the height of the Sewol ferry tragedy back in 2014. As for the money laundering allegations, well those are more serious imo. If JYPe was used to launder money for that cult/ferry company. Especially under this new president administration who seemed determined to clean house. As for JYPe artistes, I don't think the fallout damage would affect them that much Sure a couple of nasty comments under any articles regarding JYPe artistes, are bound to possibly happen. But JYP's image itself would take some hits. The govt or FSS would have to formally launch an investigation into JYPe's financial records(which is publicly available) and involved their external auditing firm and the bank(s) that held JYPe and JYP's accounts. Then you would see some more damaging traction. Hopefully JYPe can emerged clean from all these allegations. I love too many of their artistes.

All kvariety shows are scripted. Even those that are mentioned to be totally scriptless. Majority of idols or comedians or MCs who are appeared regularly on k-variety shows are 'pre-assigned' on-air TV persona by the respective show writers using 'selected questions' acting as guidelines to be talked about or mentioned on-air. However, it's up to the individuals to make full use of those 'guidelines' on hand and make the show interesting or funny. Some end up being way too awkward but forgivably funny while others came off as natural. Others crash and burn.XD

Kang Hanna has such a good sport! She fit right in!!!!)

According to OH and some knetz..Bling2 was a flop in terms of Ikon's standard.....a year later, I watched B.I in Ikon TV and I felt bad for him. Can't imagine the amount of pressure put upon him as well as one that he placed upon himself, to create a 'hit song' post Bling2. He entered YGe pretty young and missed on high school life iirc. And seeing Hanbin teased B.I in ep 1 of Ikon TV..about him wanting invite all or ANY girls idols to guest star in their Ikon TV. I felt bad for him tbqh. B.I...May you be happy always.

I felt guilty for showing support to an older kpop group with a problematic member. I usually just ignore the problematic ones. But where do I draw the line in showing support while not condoning their problematic ways.

Assalamualaikum to all Muslim OHers! Over here, my family fast from dawn to dusk. Been fasting since I was 7. Practiced half day fast when I was 5 and 6. But being a naughty kid, I did once lied about fasting when I was 8 years old and was caught eating a nice cold ice cream by my grandma. She didn't told on me to my parents. But I felt so guilty that I took my fast more seriously from then on. Lolx. Her guilt trip worked I guess. I was born and raised Muslim but my parents and especially my grandma emphasised on us kids to find our own path in Islam. They just provide us with the foundation and basic knowledge. The rest of the journey were my own. I wore the hijab/tudung full time ever since I performed my terawih for the first time in my adulthood. About 6 years ago. I was working in a children's home then and did my terawih and during my first sujud, I saw....I know this sounds corny to others but it's my story. I have no reason to son about it. It is what it is. I saw myself in my telling sitting cross legged in front a boy around 3-4years old, wearing a baby blue baju kurung and white skull cap. I was teaching him to recite the Muqaddam. That was it for me. I knew what it meant for me. Amin.

Hi you lovely people! I am trying my luck here. Many donkey years ago in the 90s, I watched a Japanese drama about a high school girl who had to work in a traditional Japanese inn after her biological father (an old man) had passed away. The thing was apparently her mother had an affair with that old man and bore her but still married to her husband, who forgave her infidelity and raised the girl as his own. But as per will, the high school girl was to train in that inn after school everyday, for a shot in future that she would take over as the head. Her rival was the daughter-in-law of the deceased owner, who plotted with her own brother to oust the high school girl and whatnot. Get the picture? My question is.....Does anyone remember this particular drama and if yes, can you tell me the name of the drama? Back then, I could not watch the last episode due to exams. I just want to re-watch the whole thing. I went to Japan twice in hope of finding a box set but when I tried to describe the gist of the drama via a translator....No positive result....Google gives me nothing. Tried in the past using web crawler, yahoo, MSN, even MySpace. Nothing. I just need the name. I don't even remember the lead actress but I do remember the cute pink kimono she wore for her high school graduation ceremony. Oh btw, the brother of the daughter-in-law had a change of heart over the period and ended in a love triangle with lead actress and her guy friend. Both guys were hot btw. Useless info I know. Help.

Personally I think at the time when the drama was showing, older woman and younger man pairing was trendy so the writer probably tried to insert that aspect. But still very subtle. So there might be a spark between park hae young and cha so hyun. A fleeting moment because it seemed that cha so hyun 's crush on Lee Jae han might have an effect on her single status when she finally made detective and assuming her character age was early 40s. So park hae young being so driven, probably do not place much hope nor effort in the love department. So he just never act upon it and probably view such efforts as futile. Anyway, here's hoping for that second season.

By the big3 agencies via PAID editorials, photoshoots, cfs. By Korean broadcasting companies via variety shows,singing competitions, sporting events. By the artists via fanservice. When Lee Hana's character father was in that alley, remember the car that honked at the suspect to hurry up. Definitely have a partner. Yesung's character might just play an even bigger role in further episode, given the reason why Lee Hana's character personally picked him to join the golden time team. Spoiler alert!!!! It's ok to be a non OT(insert #) Stan and simply a single member Stan. I am one too. But to ruin the already bittersweet vibe surrounding the disbandment is such a shitty thing to do. Can't you just enjoy the last few moments and stick the shading, bashing and pointing fingers on whose to blame for the disbandment to the bashing or rant threads? What a killjoy!
